Abstract: A device, system, and/or method for reducing friction required to rotate a tubular within an elevator during the process of running tubulars in an oil and gas well are provided. An elevator roller insert may be used in conjunction with an elevator, such as a single joint elevator. Such an insert may comprise upper and lower rollers which are positioned on upper and lower roller sets or a combination roller set containing multiple upper and/or lower rollers. The result is the provision of a plurality of rollers which bear the weight of a tubular yet still allow the tubular to rotate rather freely, facilitating the maintenance of proper thread integrity of the connections while making up a stand to a string of tubulars as well as preventing the loss of resources due to galled or crushed threads or a tubing segment or stand falling to the rig floor.

Abstract: A facility for processing output from a network of mechanical sensors is described. The facility accesses time-series data outputted by the network of sensors. The facility applies to the accessed time-series data a trained autoencoder to obtain a version of the accessed time-series data in which noise present in the accessed time-series data is at least partially suppressed. The facility stores the obtained version of the accessed time-series data, such as in order to perform human activity recognition against the obtained version of the accessed time-series data.
Abstract: A method of producing a metal form containing dispersed aerogel particles impregnated with polymers comprising a method of impregnating an aerogel with polymers, placing the aerogel impregnated with polymers within a dissolved polymer, cooling the dissolved polymer to create a polymer form with dispersed aerogel particles impregnated with polymers, adding molten metal to the polymer form, vaporizing the polymer form, replacing the polymer form with molten metal, and cooling the molten metal to yield a metal form containing dispersed aerogel particles impregnated with polymers. Dispersing the aerogel particles impregnated with polymers within the polymer form prior to adding molten metal allows the aerogel particles to be fully dispersed throughout the metal form.

Abstract: Missiles for frac manifolds manifold the discharge from a plurality of pumps. The missile comprises a missile body and inlet assemblies. The missile body has a straight primary bore and a plurality of feed bores. The primary bore extends axially through the missile body. The feed bores extend radially through the missile body and define a socket. An inlet assembly is associated with each feed bore. The inlet assembly comprises a nipple and a collar. The nipple has a bore extending axially between a spigot and a union end. The nipple is connected to the collar. The spigot is received in the socket of the feed bore. The union end is adapted for connection to a flowline component. The collar comprises mating parts releasably coupled together around the missile body. The nipple is thereby releasably coupled to the missile body by coupling the collar to the missile body.

Abstract: A system and method for preventing unauthorized inmate to inmate communications comprises establishing a video conferencing session between a first device and a second device. Video content is extracted from video conferencing session data received from the second device. One or more artifacts are identified in the video content. The artifacts indicate that a third device is a source of at least a portion of the video content. The artifacts comprise at least three layers of objects in the video content, wherein the layers are associated with different rates of variation in linear measurements of the objects. In other embodiments, multiple backgrounds are detected in the video conferencing session data.

Abstract: A perception module receives frames of data from sensors onboard a vehicle and identifies objects surrounding the vehicle based on the data. A fault detection module determines semantic information associated with the data, generates a score for each of the identified objects based on a correlation of each of the identified objects with the semantic information, and generates a score for the frames based on the scores for the identified objects. The fault detection module determines that the perception module: is operating normally in response to the score for the frames being less than a first threshold, has a fault in response to the score for the frames being greater than a second threshold, and needs inspection in response to the score being between the first and second thresholds.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods and computer-readable media for controlling and managing the identification and provisioning of resources within an on-demand center as well as the transfer of workload to the provisioned resources. One aspect involves creating a virtual private cluster within the on-demand center for the particular workload from a local environment. A method of managing resources between a local compute environment and an on-demand environment includes detecting an event associated with a local compute environment and based on the detected event, identifying information about the local environment, establishing communication with an on-demand compute environment and transmitting the information about the local environment to the on-demand compute environment, provisioning resources within the on-demand compute environment to substantially duplicate the local environment and transferring workload from the local-environment to the on-demand compute environment.
Abstract: An electronic device includes a touch-sensitive display, one or more processors, and one or more motion sensors. The touch-sensitive display detects touch input at a surface of the touch-sensitive display, with the touch input identifying a user input command requesting performance of a control operation. The one or more motion sensors determine whether the electronic device moves in three-dimensional space while the touch input is occurring. The one or more processors preclude execution of the control operation in response to the touch input where the electronic device moved in the three-dimensional space while the touch input was occurring, thereby preventing control operations in response to inadvertent touching when the electronic device is being picked up or moved.
