  • Patent number: 10974238
Abstract: A counter-current catalyst regenerator with at least two stages of counter-current contact is proposed. Each stage may comprise a permeable barrier that allows upward passage of oxygen-containing gas and downward passage of coked catalyst into each stage, but inhibits upward movement of catalyst to mitigate back mixing and approximate true counter-current contact and efficient combustion of coke from catalyst.

  • Patent number: 10977100
Abstract: A system and method is presented that installs an agent on a computer system that monitors the start of processes by the computer system and that identifies the start of processes that perform container management activities, like starting and stopping container environments. On start of a container manager process, the agent starts a container manager agent that establishes a monitoring connection to the container manager process. The container manager agent monitors activities performed by the container manager process to detect the start of new container environments by the container manager process. On detection of a container start, the container manager agent manipulates the container configuration in a way that a process type specific in-process agent is automatically injected into processes started inside the container.

  • Patent number: 10977347
Abstract: There is described an electronic device comprising a biometric authentication sensor and a control circuit, and a method thereof. The biometric authentication sensor detects an object in proximity. The control circuit activates an authentication operation in determining that sensor coverage exceeds a predetermined threshold and based on a quality of a biometric input sample captured by the biometric authentication sensor. The control circuit provides user feedback associated with the sensor coverage in determining that the sensor coverage and the quality of the biometric input sample does or does not exceed the thresholds.

  • Patent number: 10979315
Abstract: A computer system includes a predictor engine, an extractor engine, and an acquirer engine. The predictor engine obtains resource data and stack ranks the data based on an expenditure amount each resource consumed. Resources are categorized into a tree structure. The predictor engine compiles a list identifying predicted performance enhancements and generates a notification detailing the list. In response determining that the predicted performance enhancements satisfy a threshold, the extractor engine generates an inventory of resources and rearranges the inventory based on the categories. The inventory is used to generate a baseline contrasting performance requirements with performance usages. The acquirer engine selects a resource to be used for a category based on the baseline, a list of potential resources, and the performance requirements. The acquirer engine generates or modifies an executable document.

  • Patent number: 10977773
Abstract: Techniques of compressing level of detail (LOD) data involve defining a cost metric that predicts how much computing resources are necessary to decode and render a mesh at a given LOD. The cost metric may be optimized by a selection of a LOD reduction process of a plurality of processes at each LOD reduction step. For each process of the plurality of processes, the LOD is reduced according to that process and the resulting reduced LOD is evaluated according to the cost metric. Each such process at that LOD reduction step produces a respective LOD, which includes a mesh, one or more texture atlases, and/or other attributes. The LOD produced by the process having the lowest value of the cost metric at a reduction step is the LOD that is input into the next LOD reduction step.

  • Patent number: 10978811
Abstract: Techniques described herein provide slot antenna arrays for a millimeter-wave communication system. One or more implementations form a slot antenna array by creating multiple slot antenna out of a metal band that surrounds an outer edge of a housing structure. Various implementations form the slot antenna array to support millimeter waveforms associated with the millimeter-wave communication system. To form the antenna array, one or more implementations capacitively couple a respective signal feed to each respective slot antenna using a stripline connected to an inner edge of the metal band, where the stripline provides isolation between the antenna array and hardware components included in the housing structure. In response to coupling the signal feeds to the slot antenna, various implementations transmit a beam-formed wireless signal associated with the millimeter-wave communication system to enable successful data exchanges.

At least a first category may be hierarchical such that the first category includes at least two hierarchical levels, with each hierarchical level including at least two categories, and such that each category in a hierarchical level that is below another hierarchical level is a subset of one of the categories in the hierarchical levels above that hierarchical level. User information associated with users is stored. A request associated with one of the users and further associated with access to at least one of the IoT devices is received. Responsive to the request, the access is selectively granted to the at least one of the IoT devices based upon the stored user information and the stored metadata.

  • Patent number: 10973341
Abstract: A textile comprising: i) a fabric including a laced region associated with a surface of the textile; and ii) a thread inlaid through a plurality of points proximate a perimeter of the laced region. Tightening the thread causes opposite sides of the laced region to be cinched together, thereby forming the laced region into a flap associated with a second surface of the textile opposite the first surface. The textile further comprises a listing wire disposed in the flap. The fabric forms a plurality of perforations within the laced region. The listing wire may be accessed by an attachment device through at least one of the plurality of perforations.

  • Patent number: 10977941
Abstract: Locating passenger transit vehicles by detecting interactions. Each interaction is between a transit terminal and a geolocation-enabled user device, and is characterized by data indicative of the interacting terminal, the interacting user device, and the time of interaction. For each detected interaction, a geolocation of the corresponding user device at the time of the interaction is requested; and in response to the requesting, the geolocation of the corresponding user device, the time of the geolocation, and the data indicative of the interacting terminal is received. A particular passenger transit vehicle associated with at least one interacting terminal is identified based on the user device geolocations. • Patent number: RE48511
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a garment or undergarment (e.g., a T-shirt) which is provided with integrated multi-layer perspiration barriers uniquely configured to provide high levels of evaporative cooling and moisture vapor transmission. The perspiration barriers are integrated into the sleeve and torso portions of the garment such that such perspiration barriers actually define the underarm portions thereof. Each of the perspiration barriers is preferably comprised of four layers, each of which is formed from two separate panel pieces. The various layers included in each of the perspiration barriers, the manner in which such layers are stacked upon and attached to each other, and the manner in which the layers forming each perspiration barrier are integrated into the garment are specifically adapted to collectively promote evaporative cooling and a vapor transmission effect which provides superior perspiration absorption and evaporation, in addition to enhanced user comfort.
