Abstract: This disclosure covers systems and methods that administer a digital survey to respondents who interact with a biometric sensor to collect and convert biometric data into behavioral and physical characteristics of the respondents. In certain embodiments, by converting biometric data into respondent characteristics, the disclosed systems and methods identify various unwritten or nonverbal responses of survey respondents who respond to a digital survey or who interact with a display medium that captures survey data. To facilitate review of respondents' characteristics and responses, in some embodiments, the disclosed systems and methods further categorize the converted respondent characteristics within a response database for the digital survey.
Abstract: An electric vehicle comprising a portal axle architecture. The electric vehicle having a frame. An axle assembly including a De Dion tube. A first wheel hub and a second wheel hub rotatably coupled with the De Dion tube. A suspension system coupled with the vehicle frame, the suspension system having at least one pair of trailing arms pivotally coupled with the vehicle frame and at least one pair of air springs. A first electric drive assembly in driving engagement with the first wheel hub, and a second electric drive assembly in driving engagement with the second wheel hub.
Abstract: A composite case for an electronic device is provided. The composite case includes: a resilient portion dimensioned to cover two end portions of the electronic device and less than half of a back portion of the electronic device; and a rigid portion dimensioned to fit with the resilient portion, the rigid portion dimensioned to provide a cover for at least part of the back portion of the electronic device. A method of protecting an electronic device is provided. The method includes: attaching a rigid material to a resilient material; dimensioning both the rigid material and the resilient material to contain an electronic device; configuring the rigid material, but not the resilient material, to cover most or all of a back portion of the electronic device; and providing an opening to allow a screen portion of the electronic device to be accessed through the opening in the rigid and resilient material.
Abstract: A storage system includes a rack with a plurality of layers, each layer including an aisle and a plurality of rows extending from the aisle defining storage locations for items. A shuttle usable with the rack includes a first cart movable along the aisle and a second cart configured to be carriable by the first cart and to be movable along a row. The second cart is configured to carry an item between the first cart and the storage locations. A conveyor is located on one of the first or second carts to move the item onto or off the first cart. Related methods of storing and/or retrieving items from a rack are also disclosed. A rack system is disclosed and is readily assembled without welding, transferring loading so that the weight of the rack and any item stored therein is supported by the upright elements via support brackets.
Abstract: A duct intersection comprising a first duct portion and a second duct portion extending laterally from a side of the first duct portion. At least one flow modifier is mounted inside one of the first and second duct portions. The flow modifier is a contoured duct liner and/or the flow modifier includes at least one turning vane. The duct intersection may also include a transition portion extending between the first and second duct portions, wherein the transition portion has a length extending along a side of the first duct portion and a depth extending away from the side of the first duct portion, wherein the length is greater than a diameter of the second duct portion.

Abstract: The present invention relates to Brassica sequences comprising early stage seed-specific and endosperm-preferential promoter activity. Provided are recombinant genes comprising the early stage seed-specific and endosperm-preferential promoter operably linked to a heterologous nucleic acid sequence, and cells, plants and seeds comprising the recombinant gene. The promoters can be used to alter gene expression specifically in the seeds at early developmental stages and preferentially in the endosperm and to alter biotic or abiotic stress tolerance, yield, seed quality or seed properties.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, methods, and computer readable media that utilize a low-impact live-migration system to reduce unfavorable impacts caused as a result of live-migrating computing containers between physical server devices of a cloud computing system. For example, systems disclosed herein evaluates characteristics of computing containers on server devices to determine a predicted unfavorable impact of live-migrating the computing containers between the server devices. Based on the predicted impact, the systems disclosed herein can selectively identify which computing containers to live-migrate as well as carry out live-migration of the select computing containers in such a way the significantly reduces unfavorable impacts to a customer or client device associated with the computing containers.

Abstract: A raster-based system for global navigation satellite system (GNSS) guidance includes a vehicle-mounted GNSS antenna and receiver. A processor provides guidance and/or autosteering commands based on GNSS-defined pixels forming a grid representing an area to be treated, such as a field. Specific guidance and chemical application methods are provided based on the pixel-defined treatment areas and preprogrammed chemical application prescription maps, which can include variable chemical application rates and dynamic control of the individual nozzles of a sprayer.
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a garment or undergarment (e.g., a T-shirt) which is provided with integrated multi-layer perspiration barriers uniquely configured to provide high levels of evaporative cooling and moisture vapor transmission. The perspiration barriers are integrated into the sleeve and torso portions of the garment such that such perspiration barriers actually define the underarm portions thereof. Each of the perspiration barriers is preferably comprised of four layers, each of which is formed from two separate panel pieces. The various layers included in each of the perspiration barriers, the manner in which such layers are stacked upon and attached to each other, and the manner in which the layers forming each perspiration barrier are integrated into the garment are specifically adapted to collectively promote evaporative cooling and a vapor transmission effect which provides superior perspiration absorption and evaporation, in addition to enhanced user comfort.
Abstract: A portable drinking device capable of fitting over a typical pressurized beverage can to direct the flow of fluid from the can to a recipient's mouth. The portable drinking device may be positioned over the open top of the can and the can and portable drinking device are slightly tilted sideways. After the can has been punctured on its side, the entire assembly is positioned so that the portable drinking device directs a rapid and steady stream of fluid from the punctured can through the tube of the portable drinking device into a recipient's mouth.
