Abstract: A load control device may be configured to control multiple characteristics of one or more electrical loads such as the intensity and color of a lighting load. The load control device may switch from controlling one characteristic of the electrical loads to controlling another characteristic of the electrical loads based on the position of one or more components of the load control device. Such a position may be manipulated by moving the one or more components relative to an idle position of the load control device. The load control device may be a wall-mounted device or a battery-powered remote control device.

Abstract: A method for scene frame matching for automatic content recognition. The method includes receiving fingerprints indicative of frames of a media stream. The method also includes obtaining scene centroids of corresponding scenes of the media stream. Each scene includes fingerprints ranging from an initial frame having a corresponding initial fingerprint and a last frame having a corresponding last fingerprint. Each scene centroid represents a mean of fingerprints corresponding to a respective scene. The mean of fingerprints is determined by an average of pixel values corresponding to the fingerprints of the respective scene. For each scene centroid, the method includes determining a distance between the respective scene centroid and a target fingerprint of a corresponding target frame of the media stream and determining a target scene of the target frame as being the respective scene of the scene centroid having a shortest distance to the target fingerprint of the target frame.
Abstract: Computer servers configured to perform digital image processing are discloses herein. In one embodiment, upon receiving a transcription command, a computer server performs text recognition based on patterns in a digital image to generate digital text data corresponding to the digital image. The computer server can then determine a content format of the digital text data based on the imported digital image and automatically apply the determined content format to the generated digital text data. The digital data can then be inserted into an electronic message and transmitted with the inserted typeset digital text data to a destination.
Abstract: A food product includes at least one shell that contains one or more ingredients within the at least one shell. The at least one shell can be dissolved or melted into a heated liquid to release the one or more ingredients and form a heated beverage. As a particular example, multiple shells could be formed from chocolate and can contain ingredients for hot cocoa (such as cocoa mix and marshmallows). The multiple shells could be arranged in a particular pattern and decorated to form a character, such as a snowman.

The light from the general illuminating light source and the one or more targeted surface illuminating light source including an inactivating portion having wavelengths in a range of 280 to 380 nanometers.

Abstract: A system includes a microcontroller configured to: (a) receive, from an application processor, data for display on an organic light emitting diode (OLED) display having one region with a first dynamic range and another region having a second dynamic range; and (b) arrange the data into columns. A gamma generator is electrically connected to the microcontroller and generates first and second gammas specific to the different regions. A column driver is configured to: (a) apply the first gamma to each column to be displayed in the corresponding region to generate a first output, and apply the second gamma to each column to be displayed in the second region to generate a second output; and (b) electrically transmit the first and second outputs to the corresponding regions.
Abstract: Hemostatic devices for promoting blood clotting can include a substrate (e.g., gauze, textile, sponge, sponge matrix, one or more fibers, etc.), a hemostatic material disposed thereon such as kaolin clay, and a binder material such as crosslinked calcium alginate with a high guluronate monomer molar percentage disposed on the substrate to substantially retain the hemostatic material. When the device is used to treat a bleeding wound, at least a portion of the clay material comes into contact with blood to accelerate clotting. Moreover, when exposed to blood, the binder has low solubility and retains a majority of the clay material on the gauze. A bandage that can be applied to a bleeding wound to promote blood clotting includes a flexible substrate and a gauze substrate mounted thereon.

Abstract: A computing device is provided, including a magnetic data storage tape, a processor, and non-volatile memory operatively coupled to the processor. The non-volatile memory may store instructions executable by the processor to receive a plurality of data files including respective media placement metadata. Abstract: An artificial intelligence model receives a FTIR spectrum of a given ingredient to predict its protein secondary structure. The model includes three artificial modules, which generate three predicted values corresponding to structural categories (e.g., ?-helix, ?-sheet, and other) of the predicted secondary structure. Proteins may be compared for similarity based on predicted values corresponding to the structural categories of the predicted secondary structure.

Abstract: A method of controlling a shape and size of at least one solder joint of a magnetic recording head that includes a trailing surface and a plurality of bond pads, wherein each bond pad comprises a base layer comprising a top surface and a top edge, the method including the steps of forming at least one solder dam by covering a portion of the top surface of the base layer of at least one of the bond pads with a coating layer that comprises a nonwettable, electrically conductive material positioned adjacent to the top edge of at least one of the bond pads, thereby defining a coated portion and an uncoated portion of the base layer, and applying solder material to the uncoated portion of the base layer adjacent to the solder dam so that the coating layer constrains movement of the solder material beyond the uncoated portion.
