  • Patent number: 10964146
Abstract: An circuit includes a first inductive coil and a second inductive coil each including a plurality of metal traces. The first and second inductive coils are each configured to receive a first signal from an electromagnetic field and generate respective first and second output voltages. Each of the first inductive coil and the second inductive coil are configured to inductively couple to the electromagnetic field. A first circuit element is configured to receive the first output voltage and generate a first response at a first power level of the first output voltage. A second circuit element is configured to receive the second output voltage and transition to an active state to perform one or more functions when the second output voltage exceeds a second power level. The first and second power levels are related to movement of the first and second inductive coils through the electromagnetic field.

  • Patent number: 10965317
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and systems for hardware-accelerating various data processing operations in a rule-based decision-making system such as a business rules engine, an event stream processor, and a complex event stream processor. Preferably, incoming data streams are checked against a plurality of rule conditions. Among the data processing operations that are hardware-accelerated include rule condition check operations, filtering operations, and path merging operations. The rule condition check operations generate rule condition check results for the processed data streams, wherein the rule condition check results are indicative of any rule conditions which have been satisfied by the data streams. The generation of such results with a low degree of latency provides enterprises with the ability to perform timely decision-making based on the data present in received data streams.

  • Patent number: 10965663
Abstract: The automatic troubleshooting of failed single sign on attempts via an identity provider to a service provider. When an error message is encountered due to that failed single sign on attempt, that error message is used to automatically identify a root cause of the failure of the single sign on attempt. In some embodiments, a resolution of the failure is also identified, and a tool for the resolution automatically provided to the user. Such failures in single sign on attempts usually are due to improper configuration information being provided to the identity provider. The principles described herein allow a user to test ahead of time whether they have provided proper configuration information to the identity provider, and potentially correct any problems in the single sign on experience in advance, perhaps well in advance of actually needing a resource provided by the service provider.

  • Patent number: 10964430
Abstract: Systems and methods, as well as devices, are described for computer system compatibility. Computer systems exchange messages over a network or communication link according to a communication standard. A declarations of how a communication standard is implemented by a trading partner computer system is received by a host provider computer system, and an ontology model of the implementation is generated based at least in part on information in the declaration. The ontology models are queried to cause the provision of query responses indicative of differences between the trading partner implementation and a host provider implementation of the communication standard. Indications of communication compatibility between the computer systems are generated based on results of the queries against the ontology model. The indications may include augmented enforcement libraries to be implemented by the trading partner for messaging interoperability.

  • Patent number: 10962681
Abstract: A computer-based method for identifying ice storm risk across a geographical extent includes receiving, at a computer-based ice storm risk calculation system, historical data regarding a plurality of past ice storms. The historical data includes, for each respective one of the plurality of past ice storms, data about the size of the geographical region that was impacted by the ice storm, the thickness of ice that accumulated from the ice storm, and qualitative data (e.g., written observations in new reports, etc.) reflecting human observations of the ice storm's impact. The method further includes calculating an ice storm severity index based, in part, on the size of the geographical region that was impacted by the ice storm and the thickness of the accumulated ice that resulted from the ice storm, and validating the calculated ice storm index with the qualitative data reflecting the human observations of the ice storm's impact.

  • Patent number: 10965444
Abstract: Techniques for mitigating timing attacks via dynamically triggered time dilation are provided. According to one set of embodiments, a computer system can track a count of application programming interface (API) calls or callbacks made by a program within each of a series of time buckets. The computer system can further determine that the count exceeds a threshold count for a predefined consecutive number of time buckets. Upon making this determination, the computer system can trigger time dilation with respect to the program, where the time dilation causes the program to observe a dilated view of time relative to real time.

  • Patent number: 10965950
Abstract: Disclosed herein are exemplary embodiments of methods, apparatus, and systems for performing content-adaptive deblocking to improve the visual quality of video images compressed using block-based motion-predictive video coding. For instance, in certain embodiments of the disclosed technology, edge information is obtained using global orientation energy edge detection (“OEED”) techniques on an initially deblocked image. OEED detection can provide a robust partition of local directional features (“LDFs”). For a local directional feature detected in the partition, a directional deblocking filter having an orientation corresponding to the orientation of the LDF can be used. The selected filter can have a filter orientation and activation thresholds that better preserve image details while reducing blocking artifacts. In certain embodiments, for a consecutive non-LDF region, extra smoothing can be imposed to suppress the visually severe blocking artifacts.
