Abstract: A brake lever assembly includes a hood body and a brake lever movably coupled to the hood body. The hood body defines an internal cavity containing a transducer coupled to the brake lever such that an output of the transducer corresponds to a position of the brake lever. The transducer output may then be used to control a resistance element of an exercise device (e.g., a stationary bicycle) to simulate application of braking force by a rider. The transducer may be a linear potentiometer disposed within the cavity and coupled to a plunger assembly. The plunger assembly may include a plunger coupled to each of the linear potentiometer and the brake lever such that movement of the brake lever moves the linear potentiometer and varies the output of the potentiometer. The brake lever assembly may include additional buttons for upshifting, downshifting, and/or other controls.

Abstract: An automotive vehicle includes a vehicle-based charging unit including a receiving unit configured to receive power from a ground-based charging unit, the receiving unit including a multi-coil receiver, a first actuator operably coupled to the vehicle-based charging unit and configured to adjust a first position of the vehicle-based charging unit relative to the ground-based charging unit, and a controller configured to selectively actuate the first actuator.

Abstract: A technique for tracking, for example, the temperature of one or more sample vials containing biological material stored in a low-temperature shipping vessel. Each sample vial has vial electronics that senses temperature and transmits temperature data to the reader head of a reader device, which has a controller that is not at the low temperature. In some implementations, the shipping vessel has a cap with a recess that houses the controller and a hollow plug that houses a cable that connects the controller to the reader head that is located in the vessel's cold interior sufficiently close to the sample vial to enable interaction with the vial electronics. In some implementations, the reader head transmits electrical power to the vial electronics. By tracking the temperature of individual sample vials rather than the temperature of the vessel interior, more-relevant temperature data is available.

Abstract: A blowout preventer (BOP) for controlling pressure within a wellbore includes an internal cavity and a front side including a door opening, the door opening providing access to the internal cavity. The BOP also includes a door assembly associated with the door opening. The door assembly includes a door, movable between a first position and a second position, the door blocking access to the internal cavity in the first position and enabling access to the internal cavity in the second position. The door assembly also includes a hinge coupled to the door to facilitate movement of the door between the first position and the second position. The door assembly further includes a coupling device associated with the door, the coupling device securing the door to the front side. The BOP also includes a back side including an outlet, the outlet being fluidly coupled to the internal cavity.

Abstract: A portable drinking vessel assembly removably engages an open end of a bottle neck to enable drinking directly from a bottle while aerating the liquid. The assembly comprises a vessel defined by a side wall, a bottom portion forming a bottom opening, and a top portion forming a top opening. A tapered conduit defined by a wide end and a narrow end integrally joins with the vessel through the wide end, and detachably attaches to the bottle through the narrow end. The liquid is aerated while flowing from narrow end, to wide end, and finally into the vessel. A silicone sleeve having ribs encapsulates a longitudinal portion of the conduit. The ribs engage an inner surface of the bottle neck to create a self-tapping rotatable action in the bottle neck, and a seal against the inner surface of bottle neck. The vessel joins a stand to remain upright.

Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for characterizing semiconductor devices and thin film materials. The device consists of multiple probe tips that are integrated on a single substrate. The layout of the probe tips could be designed to match specific patterns on a CMOS chip or sample. The device provides for detailed studies of transport mechanisms in thin film materials and semiconductor devices.

Abstract: Systems and methods for selectively recovering a target metal from an ion exchange resin are generally described. In certain embodiments, such methods and systems can be employed for metal purification and enrichment of target metal species from mixtures containing contaminating or non-target metals. In some embodiments, ion exchange is accomplished in the presence of one or more species that facilitate the recovery of a metal from a composition further comprising one or more other metals. The recovered metal-containing composition may contain the recovered metal at relatively high purity and/or in relatively large amounts. The software application includes various levels including a venue software application level, a consumer software application level and a cloud-based server software application level. The consumer software application is downloaded onto a smart device and notifications are sent to the smart device when a consumer enters a venue's defined geo-fences. The notification informs the consumer of survey-voucher pairs, where vouchers may be redeemed in exchange for the consumer completing surveys. The information obtained from the surveys provides feedback to venues and business owners.

In some aspects of the present disclosure, a digital image captured at a location of a user can be received. The digital image can be analyzed to identify an establishment. Transaction data between customers and the establishment can be retrieved. Transaction-related insight information about the establishment can be generated based on the data. The transaction-related insight information can be provided to the user.

The electrically-conductive layer includes a current collector portion and a tab portion. The electrode layer is disposed on at least a portion of the current collector portion. The electrode layer includes a first edge. The electrode layer includes an electroactive material. The electrode layer defines a first dimension substantially parallel to the first edge and a second dimension substantially perpendicular to the first edge. An aspect ratio of the first dimension to the second dimension is greater than or equal to about 2. The tab portion is disposed adjacent to at least a portion of the first edge. An interface between the electrode layer and the tab portion defines an interface length of greater than or equal to about 50% of the first dimension.

Metrics of user interactions with the configured content composites may be determined using a processing device that monitors user inputs. The computational model may be automatically trained using the metrics to create an adapted computational model. Adapted content composites may be created and configured according to the adapted computational model that comprises of a second hierarchical ordering of the adapted content composites using a second tree data structure and specifications of different content composites. The adapted content composites may be presented with the graphical user interface of the user device and a second graphical user interface.
