Abstract: An opto-electronic High Electron Mobility Transistor (HEMT) may include a current channel including a two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG). The opto-electronic HEMT may further include a photoelectric bipolar transistor embedded within at least one of a source and a drain of the HEMT, the photoelectric bipolar transistor being in series with the current channel of the HEMT.

Abstract: An electrical connector includes a differential signal pair. A portion of each terminal is disposed in an insulative housing and an electrically conductive shield extends around at least a portion of the terminals and a least a portion of the housing. The housing may have a lower surface and a projection extending downward from the lower surface between a portion of a vertical section of each of the terminals. The terminals may have an angled section including a vertical portion having a first width, an angled portion narrower than the vertical portion, and a horizontal portion narrower than the angled portion. The housing may have a housing mating component spaced from a housing body component and aligned with but spaced from the terminals. The terminals may have a planar termination section with a first portion wider than a second portion.

Abstract: A method of video decoding at a video decoder can include partitioning a coding tree block (CTB) into coding blocks, determining whether an intra sub-partition (ISP) mode is allowable for a current block based on a first block size of the current block that is one of the coding blocks, and decoding the current block according to the ISP mode when the ISP mode is allowed for the current block.

Abstract: A node in a content delivery network (CDN) receives a request for content and determines information about the request. When sufficient information about the content is determined, the request is assigned to an appropriate CD service to process the request; and when insufficient information about the content is determined, the request is assigned to a generic CD service to process the request. The generic CD service processes the request; and provides updated information about the content to be used for processing future requests. An appropriate CD service processing a request may also provide updated information about the content to be used for processing future requests.

Abstract: The application provides a hair coloring brush. The hair coloring brush can include a handle and a detachable brush cap that detachably couples to the handle. The handle can include an elongated body, a brush attachment protrusion, where the brush attachment protrusion extends outward from the elongated body and has a first protrusion side and a second protrusion side. The handle can also include a first side ridge and a second side ridge. The detachable brush cap can include a distal brush end, a plurality of bristles, and a cavity opposite the distal brush end, where the cavity has a cavity wall and an internal groove located in the cavity wall. The first side ridge and the second side ridge can tension fit in the internal groove when the detachable brush cap is inserted over the brush attachment protrusion.

Abstract: A vehicle glazing (10) wherein a light guide stack (22) is located between a portion of the inner transparency (26) and the outer transparency (28). The light guide stack includes a polycarbonate film (32) that is bonded to the transparencies by layers of PET (38, 40) that are secured to the polycarbonate film on one side by silicone (34, 36) and that are secured to the transparencies on the other side by PVB (42, 44). The terminal end of an extending tab of the polycarbonate film forms an edge that is connected to a light bar (14) that such visible light propagates through the light bar and into the polycarbonate film through the edge. Visible light propagates through etchings in the smooth surface of the polycarbonate film to form an image. An extension of one of the transparencies protects the polycarbonate tab and supports the light bar during installation of the glazing into the vehicle portal.

Abstract: In various embodiments, methods, systems, and vehicles are provided for executing a lane change for a host vehicle. In various embodiments, one or more sensors obtain sensor data pertaining to target vehicles in proximity to the host vehicle; and a processor at least facilitates: obtaining, using the sensor data, predictions as to future positions and movement of the target vehicle; identifying a plurality of gaps through which the host vehicle may accomplish the lane change, based on the predictions; calculating a cost for each of the plurality of gaps; selecting, a selected gap of the plurality of gaps, having a minimized cost; and executing the lane change for the host vehicle via the selected gap.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for active cooling of a rechargeable energy storage system. A thermal conditioning system includes a cooling system configured to circulate a coolant to cool the RESS. A controller computes a generated heat amount of the RESS; computes a target temperature of the coolant based on the generated heat amount; and operates actuators of the thermal conditioning system to cool the coolant to the target temperature.

Abstract: In a general aspect, a silicon carbide (SiC) field-effect transistor (FET) can include a substrate of a first conductivity type, a drift region of the first conductivity type disposed on the substrate, a spreading layer of the first conductivity type disposed in the drift region, a body region of a second conductivity type disposed in the spreading layer, and a source region of the first conductivity type disposed in the body region. The SiC FET can further include a spacer layer of the first conductivity type disposed on the source region the body region and the spreading layer, and a lateral channel region of the first conductivity type disposed in the spacer layer. The SiC FET can also include a gate structure that includes an aluminum nitride layer disposed on the lateral channel region, and an aluminum gallium nitride layer of the second conductivity disposed on the AlN layer.

Abstract: A receiving apparatus includes circuitry configured to receive a digital broadcast signal which uses an internet protocol (IP) transfer method. Based on control information included in the digital broadcast signal, the circuitry acquires at least one of a broadcast component or a communication component, and controls an operation of each section which performs a predetermined process relating to the acquired at least one component. The broadcast component and the communication component are associated with a component hierarchy including a first hierarchy level, a second hierarchy level, and a third hierarchy level for each component category.

Abstract: A computing device includes a control system that communicates with multiple sensors that capture data regarding a user. The control system communicates with each of the sensors to obtain information regarding the capabilities of each sensor, and uses this capability information to determine how to configure each of the sensors. The control system also selects one of the multiple sensors to be the master sensor, and the rest of the multiple sensors are slave sensors, and notifies the multiple sensors of whether they are a slave sensor or a master sensor. The master sensor collects sensor data for the multiple sensors, capturing data itself as well as receiving data captured by the slave sensors from the slave sensors. The master sensor sends an indication of the collected data (e.g., the collected data itself or data resulting from processing the collected data) to the control system for analysis and/or processing.

Abstract: At least one application may include instructions comprising application instructions and a plurality of separate pipeline definition instructions. The application instructions may be within a virtual container including at least one program that is generically executable in a plurality of different continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) environments. Each of the plurality of separate pipeline definition instructions may be configured for each of the plurality of different CI/CD environments such that each pipeline definition may operate only in the CI/CD environment for which it is created. Abstract: An agent executing on a processor at a data production site detects filesystem events and creates a list of bookmarks describing the filesystem events in user-understandable strings. Each bookmark is associated with metadata about the filesystem event that includes a timestamp and a point-in-time (PiT) snapshot of the filesystem at the time of occurrence of the event. The bookmarks and associated metadata are transferred to a recovery site and the bookmark set is recorded in storage. The storage can be searched for bookmarks in the set that reference the filename of a file of interest, and the file recovered and replicated using an associated PiT.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides computing systems and techniques for validating a decision model against a cannon of regulation. A server can deconstruct a decision model into a number of branching decisions and also generate a Markov chain comprising a number of sequences from a cannon of regulation. The server can compare the branching decisions to the sequences and can validate the decision model with the cannon of regulation based on the comparison.

Abstract: An assisted perception (AP) module comprises an attachment mechanism to attach the AP module to a helmet, and a housing to integrate modular components of the AP module. The housing comprises a front portion and side portion, the front portion located over an eye of the user. The modular components include sensors to collect information about an environment as sensor data, and processors located in the side portion. The processors execute one or more assisted perception engines that process the sensor data from the sensors into enhanced characterization data. Output devices electronically communicate the enhanced characterization data to a user, wherein at least one of the output devices protrudes from the front portion of the housing in front of an eye of the user.

Abstract: A tissue approximation device for wound closure having a first arm having a proximal end and a distal end, a second arm having a proximal end and a distal end, the second arm connected to the first arm. A first rake member is connected to the distal end of the first arm and has a first plurality of tissue engaging members extending therefrom to engage tissue. A second rake member is attached to the distal end of the second arm, the second rake member having a second plurality of tissue engaging members extending therefrom to engage tissue. A transverse bar can extend through the first and second rake members such that the first and second rake members movable along the transverse bar. Systems and methods for wound closure are also disclosed.

Abstract: A hitch assist system for a vehicle comprises an imaging system that receives image data of a hitch ball and trailer coupler, and a controller. The controller estimates a distance between a point on each of the hitch ball and trailer coupler. The points are parallel to a plane defined by a surface beneath the hitch ball and trailer coupler. The controller tracks the distance with a pixel-domain comparison between each of the points responsive to the distance being less than a first threshold, and maneuvers, via steering and braking systems, the vehicle along a path such that the distance is indicative of the points being coaxial.

Abstract: A cascade reactor scheme with acid and hydrocarbon flowing in reverse directions. The systems and processes for alkylation of olefins herein may include providing a first olefin to a first alkylation zone, and a second olefin to a second alkylation zone. Isoparaffin may be provided to the first alkylation zone. The isoparaffin and first olefin may be contacted with a partially spent sulfuric acid in the first alkylation zone to form a spent acid phase and a first hydrocarbon phase including alkylate and unreacted isoparaffin. The first hydrocarbon phase and second olefin may be contacted with a sulfuric acid feed in the second alkylation zone to form a second hydrocarbon phase, also including alkylate and unreacted isoparaffin, and the partially spent sulfuric acid that is fed to the first alkylation zone. Further, the second hydrocarbon phase may be separated, recovering an isoparaffin fraction and an alkylate product fraction.

Abstract: In one aspect, a magnetic field sensor includes a plurality of tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) elements that includes a first TMR element, a second TMR element, a third TMR element and a fourth TMR element. The first and second TMR elements are connected to a voltage source and the third and fourth TMR elements are connected to ground. Each TMR element has a pillar count of more than one pillar and the pillar count is selected to reduce the angle error below 1.0°.
