Abstract: A three-dimensional memory device includes an alternating stack of insulating layers and electrically conductive layers located over a single crystalline semiconductor layer, a single crystal epitaxial source semiconductor layer located between the single crystalline semiconductor layer and the alternating stack and epitaxially aligned to the single crystalline semiconductor layer, and a memory stack structure vertically extending through the alternating stack and containing a memory film and an epitaxial vertical semiconductor channel including a single crystal semiconductor material that is epitaxially aligned to the epitaxial source semiconductor layer at an interface.

Abstract: A vehicle transmission includes a housing, an electric machine stator, a support plate, and a plurality of fasteners. The housing has an internal rear wall and a side wall that define a cavity. The electric machine stator is disposed within the cavity. The support plate is disposed within the cavity. The support plate engages the internal side wall such that a press-fit engagement is formed between the support plate and the internal side wall. The electric machine is disposed between the support plate and the internal rear wall. The plurality of fasteners extends through the support plate, through the stator, and engages the rear internal wall to secure the stator to the housing.

Abstract: The multiple independent processes run in an AI engine on its cloud-based platform. The multiple independent processes are configured as an independent process wrapped in its own container so that multiple instances of the same processes can run simultaneously to scale to handle one or more users to perform actions. The actions to solve AI problems can include 1) running multiple training sessions on two or more AI models at the same time, 2) creating two or more AI models at the same time, 3) running a training session on one or more AI models while creating one or more AI models at the same time, 4) deploying and using two or more trained AI models to do predictions on data from one or more data sources, 5) etc. A service handles scaling by dynamically calling in additional computing devices to load on and run additional instances of one or more of the independent processes as needed.

Abstract: An electric axle drive utilizes an electric motor to propel both half-shafts via final drive gearing and a differential. Torque vectoring gearing alters the torque distribution by transmitting power from one of the half shafts to the motor or from the motor to the half-shaft in response to engagement of brakes. Both the final drive gearing and the torque vectoring gearing are implemented using stepped planetary gear sets. The final drive gearing and differential are located on one end of the electric motor. The torque vectoring gearing is located on the opposite end of the electric motor.
Abstract: A vehicle with removable hardtop may include vehicle sides having footrest cavities and pin recesses through top rails. The hardtop has sides resting on the top rails, locating pins extending downward from the bottom edges into respective pin recesses, and footrests extending downward from the bottom edges, farther than the locating pins, into respective footrest cavities with greater clearance than the locating pins in the pin recesses.
Abstract: An automatic injection device has an insertion needle configured to be inserted into a patient and a drug container which contains a pharmaceutical product. The drug container includes a plunger. The automatic injection device also has a fluid path which fluidly connects the drug container to the insertion needle. The automatic injection device further has a drive system configured to cause linear movement of the plunger to force the pharmaceutical product into the fluid path. The drive system has a driving element and a movable element. The automatic injection device additionally has electronics configured to provide a signal to the drive system to move the plunger. The movable element has an outer magnet at least partially surrounding the drug container and an inner magnet inside the drug container.
Abstract: Conventional laptop computers may utilize a door-hinge style or in a bezel-behind-base style hinge to connect a display with a keyboard of the laptop computer. Typically, these hinges present a discontinuous visual impression to the user. Presenting a more continuous visual impression of the hinge to the user suggests a higher overall quality of the computing device to the user and is thus desirable to the user. The disclosed virtual pivot hinge pivots about a pivot axis running between the display and the keyboard. The hardware of the hinge is located away from the pivot axis, which creates a virtual pivoting action about the axis that maintains a consistent front gap distance (or no front gap) between the display and the keyboard. The resulting visual impression to the user is that the display is floating above keyboard at the same or similar distance regardless of the display angle.
Abstract: Certain example embodiments relate to electric, potentially-driven shades usable with insulating glass (IG) units, IG units including such shades, and/or associated methods. In such a unit, a dynamic shade is located between the substrates defining the IG unit, and is movable between retracted and extended positions. The dynamic shade includes on-glass layers including a transparent conductor and an insulator or dielectric film, as well as a shutter. The shutter includes a resilient polymer, a conductor, and optional ink. Holes, invisible to the naked eye, may be formed in the polymer. Those holes may be sized, shaped, and arranged to promote summertime solar energy reflection and wintertime solar energy transmission. The conductor may be transparent or opaque. When the conductor is reflective, overcoat layers may be provided to help reduce internal reflection. The polymer may be capable of surviving high-temperature environments and may be colored in some instances.

Abstract: A system and related method of filling tanks is provided so that tanks do not attain an overfill condition and/or so the tanks are filled to a maximum specified capacity. The system includes an adjustable float switch having a float configured to float in liquid that is filled into a trailer tanker, a mix tank, a frac tank, a storage tank and a variety of other tanks. The float can be set so that when the liquid attains a maximum level and associated volume, the float switch opens so that pressurized air can be communicated from it to a pneumatically actuated tanker valve disposed in a supply line. This shuts off the flow of liquid through the supply line and into the tank. The system can be operable in a various modes, such as a filling mode, a filled mode, a manual emergency shutoff mode and/or a manual reset mode.
