  • Patent number: 10787315
Abstract: A method includes providing a first route for a delivery vehicle that is associated with a first deadline to reach a first location. The method also includes receiving a cargo delivery request. The method further includes determining a second route for the delivery vehicle that includes a stop at an automated warehouse. The method additionally includes determining, based on scheduling information for robots at the warehouse, a projected availability time for cargo that satisfies the cargo delivery request to be available for pickup at the warehouse. The method also includes determining that the delivery vehicle is expected to reach the first location by the first deadline after traveling on the second route and picking up the cargo from the warehouse. The method further includes providing the second route to the delivery vehicle and causing a robot at the warehouse to prepare the cargo for pickup at the warehouse.

  • Patent number: 10787889
Abstract: For gas lift, gas lift valves install on a completion in a wellbore. The gas lift valve has a pressure-sensitive valve and a check valve configured to control communication in the valve. A piston is held closed with a first connection relative to the valve's outlet exposed to tubing pressure, while the check valve is held open in the valve with a second connection. Pressure testing can be performed on the integrity of the tubing and casing by increasing the tubing and annulus pressures while the piston stays closed. The gas lift valve is then actuated for operation by increasing the tubing or annulus pressure beyond a predetermined limit of the first connection to release the piston to move open relative to the outlet. The movement of the piston releases the hold of the second connection on the check valve so the check valve can function normally as a one-way valve.

  • Patent number: 10789142
Abstract: Disclosed are hardware and techniques for testing computer processes in a network system by simulating computer process faults and identifying risk associated with correcting the simulated fault and identifying computer processes that may depend on the corrected computer process. The interdependent computer processes in a network may be determined by evaluating a risk matrix having a risk score and non-functional requirement score. An analysis of the risk score and non-functional requirement score accounts for interdependencies between computer processes and identified corrective actions that may be used to determine an optimal network environment. The optimal network environment may be updated dynamically based on changing computer process interdependencies and the determined risk and robustness scores.

  • Patent number: 10789018
Abstract: A primary copy and one or more shadow copies of a logical volume are created and discovered by a host rescan performed when the logical volume is initially created. Data storage resources are allocated to the primary copy, but not to the shadow copy. The initial path state of the logical volume describes the path to the primary copy as active, and the path to the shadow copy as unavailable for accessing the logical volume. Movement of the logical volume to the storage appliance providing the shadow copy can be performed without an additional host rescan, by making the shadow copy the new primary copy, making the primary copy a new shadow copy, and updating the path state of the logical volume to indicate i) that the path to the new primary copy is active, and ii) that the path to the new shadow copy is unavailable.

  • Patent number: 10788265
Abstract: Embodiments provide a veneer dryer system and methods of constructing, relocating, and replacing veneer dryers and other constructs such as lumber kilns, machinery, and processing lines or parts thereof. Embodiments of a veneer dryer system may include a track and a veneer dryer movably coupled with the track. The track may extend between the desired location of the veneer dryer and a construction location. Movers may be coupled with the track at the construction location. The veneer dryer may be partially or fully constructed on the movers and moved to the desired location for use. A pre-existing veneer dryer at the desired location may remain operational during the construction and removed before the new veneer dryer is moved into place, substantially reducing downtime and costs as compared to prior methods of replacing veneer dryers.

  • Patent number: 10786797
Abstract: A Fluid Catalytic Cracking process converts heavy crude oil fractions into lighter hydrocarbon products at high temperature and moderate pressure in the presence of a catalyst. During this process, catalyst particles stay entrained in the descending gas stream. An inlet scroll on the cyclone may be used to keep the inlet gas stream and the entrained particles away from the entrance to the gas outlet tube. Refractory material may applied to the interior of the wall of the cyclone to form an abrasion resistant lining to insulate the walls of the cyclone from the gas flow contents. The inlet feed velocity may be used as a predictive factor to determine a wear rate of the cyclones. Thus, lining erosion can be predicted so that the lining can be repaired or replaced during a planned turnaround.

  • Patent number: 10791537
Abstract: A device receives, from a transaction device, transaction data associated with a transaction performed by a user, and receives first location data indicating a location of a mobile user device. The device receives, from a stationary user device, browser data associated with online activity of the user, and determines, based on the browser data, second location data indicating a location of the stationary user device. The device determines, based on the transaction data, third location data indicating a location of the transaction device, and assigns weights and time stamps to the first, second, and third location data. The device aggregates the first, second, and third location data, based on the weights and the time stamps, to generate aggregated location data. The device processes the aggregated location data, with a model, to predict a particular location of the user, and performs actions based on the particular location.

  • Patent number: 10787189
Abstract: Various implementations relate to an operator monitoring system (OMS). Certain implementations include an OMS coupled to a rotatable portion of a steering wheel assembly of a vehicle. For example, the OMS may include an imaging unit, such as a camera, that is coupled to a central hub portion of the steering wheel assembly. The imaging unit has a field of view directed toward one or more occupants in the vehicle and is configured to capture an image signal corresponding to an imaging area in the field of view. The imaging area can be configured to encapsulate an expected position of one or more vehicle occupants. The OMS also includes one or more processing units in electrical communication with the imaging unit that receives and processes the image signal from the imaging unit to determine an occupant state and, in some implementations, provide feedback based on the determined occupant state.

  • Patent number: 10788710
Abstract: A privacy display comprises a spatial light modulator and a compensated switchable liquid crystal retarder arranged between first and second polarisers arranged in series with the spatial light modulator. In a privacy mode of operation, on-axis light from the spatial light modulator is directed without loss, whereas off-axis light has reduced luminance. The visibility of the display to off-axis snoopers is reduced by means of luminance reduction over a wide polar field. In a wide angle mode of operation, the switchable liquid crystal retardance is adjusted so that off-axis luminance is substantially unmodified.

  • Patent number: 10786497
Abstract: Disclosed are linear discrete PEG constructs, which can be created and produced in a precise and reproducible way. Key to being able to do these things, where x in the discrete PEGx can vary from about 2 to about 64, is that the processes used to make each linear portion is controlled to give essentially one oligomer/one compound. Having a variable length linear discrete PEG construct that is (a) primarily an linear discrete PEG construct with diagnostic or therapeutic groups attached along a chain of attachment cores, which is attached to a preferential locator; (b) is an m-discrete PEG as the terminal construct on the linear portion, and “hidden”; (c or linear discrete PEG with a terminus group that can be either negatively or positively charged, or neutral; and any of the discrete PEG portions can be designed to be cleaved after entering the cell.
