The inventive device, which is made up of an optionally embedded array of icon focusing elements, at least one grayscale in-plane image, and a plurality of coextensive control patterns of icons contained on or within the in-plane image, each control pattern being mapped to areas of the grayscale in-plane image having a range of grayscale levels, provides enhanced design capability, improved visual impact, and greater resistance to manufacturing variations.
Abstract: A utility meter includes a meter housing that supports at least one current coil, a temperature sensor, and a processing circuit coupled to both. The current coil can be coupled to receive heat energy from a meter socket. The temperature sensor disposed generates a sensor signal based on a temperature within the meter housing. The processing circuit obtains the sensor signal and generates meter temperature information based at least in part thereon. The processing circuit also obtains a first predetermined threshold based on at least one of time of day information and date information. The processing circuit also determines whether an abnormal condition exists by comparing the meter temperature information to a value based on the first predetermined threshold, and generates an output signal to a memory, display or communication circuit responsive to determining that the abnormal condition exists.

Abstract: A method for healing a target region on an input image is described. A preview image is received; the preview image may reflect a down-sampled image of an original image. The method determines a target region for the preview image. The target region indicates a segment of the preview image designated for healing. The method may then heal the target region associated with the preview image using a transformation. The method may store one or more parameters associated with the healed preview image. The method may then provide for display the healed preview image to a user on a mobile device.

Abstract: A solid state lamp for retrofit of an HID includes a circumferential array of solid state light sources mounted on circuit boards, a heat sink located in the lamp's interior volume, and a fan positioned in the interior volume to force airflow across the heat sink. A capper assembly includes at least one aperture to vent the interior volume, and an intermediate circuit board within the capper assembly. The intermediate circuit board distributes electrical power to the circuit boards by tabs and contacts extending from the boards that are mechanically bonded together. An optical transmissive shield is positioned exterior to the circumferential array, and can include prismatic structures to direct light emitted from the LED sources in an off axis direction.

Abstract: A method, a system, and an article are provided for detecting and managing anomalies associated with content presentations. An example computer-implemented method includes: obtaining a stream of data including a record of software installations on a plurality of client devices; processing the stream of data using a real-time anomaly detector to detect a first anomaly indicating that a client device was previously associated with fraudulent software installation activity; aggregating the stream of data to generate a batch record of software installations for each publisher from a plurality of content publishers; processing each batch record of software installations using a batch anomaly detector to detect a second anomaly indicating that at least one of the publishers is associated with fraudulent software installation activity; and facilitating an adjustment of content presentations on the client devices, based on at least one of the detected first anomaly and the detected second anomaly.

Abstract: A firearm training device can include a firearm frame that has a barrel with a camera disposed at a distal end of the barrel, a grip attached to the barrel, and a trigger in proximity to the grip. The trigger can be configured to toggle an electronic switch. The firearm frame can also include a controller communicatively coupled to the camera and the electronic switch. The controller can be configured to collect an image frame or video segment, via the camera, when the electronic switch is toggled, and generate a composite image or video including the image frame or video segment and a strike indicator overlaid onto the image frame or video segment, whereby the composite image or video demonstrates where a firearm strike would have occurred. In other embodiments, the firearm training device is configured as an attachment for a firearm (e.g., a live firearm or mock firearm).

Abstract: The disclosed technology includes systems and methods for controlling enrollment and secure persistent SMS texting account servicing communications. A method is provided that includes receiving, at an enrollment web portal, enrollment data including: enrollment credentials identifying a user for authentication, a phone number of a mobile device associated with the user, and consent by the user to persistently interact with an account servicing system via SMS texting. The method includes: processing the received enrollment data, authenticating the user responsive to processing the received enrollment data, storing the phone number of the mobile device associated with the user in a phone number data storage, and generating, responsive to the authenticating, a revocable token for persistent access to a natural dialogue module via a SMS texting gateway for the mobile device identified by the phone number.
Abstract: The invention relates to a composition and method for increasing blood pressure, including a low pain or analgesic state or hypotensive anaesthesia in a subject that has suffered a life threatening hypotension or shock or reducing hypofusion in the whole body of a subject. The composition comprises (i) a compound selected from at least one of a potassium channel opener, a potassium channel agonist and an adenosine receptor agonist; and (ii) an antiarrhythmic agent or a local anaesthetic.
Abstract: A stocking assistant robot includes a base plate, one or more wheels coupled to the base plate, a first support coupled to the base plate, and a second support coupled to the base plate, wherein the first support is configured to move perpendicular to the base plate and the second support is configured to move perpendicular to the base plate. The stocking assistant robot also includes a first actuator configured to move the first support perpendicular to the base plate, and a second actuator configured to move the second support perpendicular to the base plate. The stocking assistant robot identifies an item, determines a stock location based on the identified item, operates one or more electric motors coupled to the one or more wheels based on the stock location, and moves the first support or the second support perpendicular to the base plate based on the stock location.
