Patent number: 10547617Abstract: Systems and methods here may be used for authorizing network access including using a controller with a processor and memory, the controller in communication with a first network for controlling access to the first network. From a user equipment having a user registered in a visitor network, an access request to access the first network is received, wherein the access request includes a MAC address of the user equipment. Based on a query performed in a subscriber repository, if the received MAC address is not found, a credential request is sent to the user equipment, and a credential is received from the user equipment. A single use code is generated, stored in the subscriber repository, and sent to the user equipment via a trusted channel. A new code and a new credential are received via the visitor network, and are compared. If the new code and the single use code match, the new credential is registered for re-use by the user equipment.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2017Date of Patent: January 28, 2020Assignee: ARRIS Enterprises LLCInventors: Doron Givoni, Oleg Pogorelik

Patent number: 10546430Abstract: A near-eye display (NED) has an orientation detection device and a display block. The orientation detection device collects orientation data that describe an orientation of the NED. The display block has a display assembly, a focusing assembly, and a controller. The controller determines an orientation vector of the NED based in part on the orientation data and computes an angular difference between the orientation vector of the NED and a gravity vector. After comparing the angular difference to a threshold value, the controller generates multifocal instructions that adjusts the optical element to display an augmented scene at the selected image plane corresponding to the multifocal instructions.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2018Date of Patent: January 28, 2020Assignee: Facebook Technologies, LLCInventors: Lu Lu, Ji Luo, Nicholas Daniel Trail, Kevin James MacKenzie, Pasi Saarikko, Andrew John Ouderkirk, Scott Charles McEldowney

Patent number: 10543739Abstract: Control techniques for an electrically all-wheel drive (eAWD) hybrid vehicle involve determining whether to transition from an electric-only mode to a parallel mode based on a driver torque request or a state of charge (SOC) of a battery system. During the electric-only mode, the electric motor is operated such that a torque reserve is maintained. When the driver torque request exceeds a maximum drive torque that the electric motor is capable of generating, the electric-only to parallel mode transition is performed. This involves the electric motor depleting the torque reserve to provide an expected acceleration feel for the driver while engine and transmission speeds are synchronized. When the SOC of the battery system falls below an SOC threshold, the drive torque of the electric motor is decreased to zero upon engine/transmission speed synchronization such that the battery system can be recharged.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 2018Date of Patent: January 28, 2020Assignee: FCA US LLCInventor: Yuxing Zhou

Patent number: 10543874Abstract: Vehicles are disclosed that are configured to carry loads in a stabilized manner, such that the load is maintained in a substantially constant position or orientation relative to a predetermined reference point or frame even as the vehicle moves. A stabilization controller in such a vehicle receives information about movement of the vehicle relative to the reference point or plane from one or more sensors on the vehicle, and uses the information to control one or more movable objects by which the load is secured to the vehicle so as to maintain a relatively constant relationship between the load and the reference point or plane.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2018Date of Patent: January 28, 2020Assignee: PAHA DESIGNS, LLCInventor: Benjamin Meager

Patent number: 10544891Abstract: A system and method of assembling flanged duct sections, using large sheet metal screws through opposing inserted corner plates. The large screws are threadedly inserted fully through the corner plates of a first duct section and hold perpendicular thereto for guiding alignment with the mating duct section. The screws hold the duct sections apart to allow aligning them without fluid sealant or tape gasket material on one of the duct sections contacting the other. The screws are then threadedly engaged with the corner plates of the mating duct section, bringing the duct sections together with a leak resistant seal therebetween. Optional hanger brackets can be placed between the corner plates before assembly, and additional screws used to deform the flanges and corner plates about the brackets to compress the sealant or gasket thereabout.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 2014Date of Patent: January 28, 2020Assignee: H J FISCHER LLCInventor: Herbert J. Patent number: 10545028Abstract: A point of interest (POI) may be recommended for a mobile device user based on habits and routines of the user. By automatically and periodically capturing and analyzing location data associated with a mobile device of the user, a route traveled by the user and a plurality of POIs visited by the user may be identified. A user preference score may be generated for each POI indicating a user's preference for visiting that POI. The user preference score may be generated based on the number or frequency of visits by the user to each POI and the distance traveled by the user to visit each POI. Based on user preference scores associated with similar users, user preference scores may be predicted for POIs not visited by the user, and a POI not yet visited by the user may be recommended based on the predicted user preference score of the POI.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 2017Date of Patent: January 28, 2020Assignee: BLUEOWL, LLCInventor: Kenneth J.
