Abstract: Biometric authentication of a subject utilizing bone and/or blood vessel (vein or artery) structures is provided. A vertice profile is generated from a non-invasive, multi-dimensional image scan of a subject or a portion thereof. The vertice profile is generated by identifying relative locations of divots and peaks on a surface of a bone structure or by identifying branch intersections and traversals of blood vessels. Additional verification techniques can be used for proof of life (verification of human subject). If authenticated, access to physical or digital/virtual assets is allowed.

Abstract: A virtual reality or augmented reality experience of a scene may be presented to a viewer using layered data retrieval and/or processing. A first layer of a video stream may be retrieved, and a first viewer position and/or orientation may be received. The first layer may be processed to generate first viewpoint video of the scene from a first virtual viewpoint corresponding to the first viewer position and/or orientation. The first viewpoint video may be displayed for the viewer. Then, a second layer of the video stream may be retrieved, and a second viewer position and/or orientation may be received. The second layer may be processed to generate second viewpoint video of the scene from a second virtual viewpoint corresponding to the second viewer position and/or orientation, with higher quality than the first viewpoint video. The second viewpoint video may be displayed for the viewer.
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for estimating patient radiation exposure during computerized tomography (CT) scans. More specifically, embodiments of the invention provide efficient approaches for generating a suitable patient model used to make such an estimate, to approaches for estimating patient dose by interpolating the results of multiple simulations, and to approaches for a service provider to host a dose estimation service made available to multiple CT scan providers.
Abstract: Examples relate to identifying shortest paths. In one example, a computing device may: access an edge table that specifies, for each edge of a graph, an edge source, an edge destination, and an edge distance value; access a current path table that specifies paths between nodes of the graph and, for each path, a source node, a destination node, a distance, and a node path; identify each path included in the current path table as a shortest known path; and for each path having a destination node that matches an edge source node, add a new path to the current path table, the new path specifying: the source node as a new source; the edge destination as a new destination; a sum of the edge value and the path distance as a new distance; and the edge destination appended to the node path as a new node path.
Abstract: Frequency independent isolation of duplexed ports in distributed antenna systems (DASs) is disclosed. Instead of providing a duplexer in a DAS that provides frequency dependent separation between downlink and uplink communications signals, an isolation circuit is provided. The isolation circuit is coupled to a duplexed port that provides downlink communications signals to the DAS and receives uplink communications signals from the DAS. To isolate uplink communications signals from the downlink communications path, the isolation circuit includes a directional coupler. The directional coupler provides frequency independent isolation between uplink communications signals and a downlink communications path in the DAS. Further, to isolate downlink communications signals from the uplink communications path, the isolation circuit includes at least one circulator isolator.
Abstract: A public-private computing system includes: a public computing portion accessible to a computing device associated with a user, the public computing portion including a Platform-as-a-Service portion, the Platform-as-a-Service portion including a cloud computing platform; a private computing portion; and an Application Program Interface (API) gateway configured to couple the public computing portion and the private computing portion.
Abstract: Systems and methods dynamically assess energy efficiency by obtaining a minimum energy consumption of a system, receiving in a substantially continuous way a measurement of actual energy consumption of the system, and comparing the minimum energy consumption to the measurement of actual energy consumption to calculate a substantially continuous energy performance assessment. The system further provides at least one of a theoretical minimum energy consumption based at least in part on theoretical performance limits of system components, an achievable minimum energy consumption based at least in part on specifications for high energy efficient equivalents of the system components, and the designed minimum energy consumption based at least in part on specifications for the system components.
Abstract: Shades and/or reflectors for luminaires. The luminaires may be retrofitted with the shades and/or reflectors to selectively control the direction and/or spectrum of light emitted by the luminaires. In particular, the efficiency and/or color contrast of a luminaire may be improved by using wavelength shifting material, such as a phosphor, to absorb less desired wavelengths and transmit more desired wavelengths. The shade may provide a transmissive filter which reflects desired wavelengths such as red and green, while passing less desired wavelengths (e.g., blue) toward the wavelength shifting material which emits such as light of more desirable wavelengths.

Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products are provided for reducing the risk of sexual assault in a facility. Objective, clinical, and subjective information is obtained about a person housed within the facility. The obtained information is converted into respective groups of variables and weighted coefficients are assigned to selected ones of the variables. The respective groups of variables are processed via an algorithm to derive a risk number for the person. The risk number represents a risk of the person being vulnerable to rape within the facility or a risk of the person being a sexual predator within the facility. One or more other persons within the facility are identified that may be a potential sexual victim of the person and/or that may be a potential sexual abuser of the person based upon the risk number and respective risk numbers of each of the one or more other persons.

Abstract: An optical numerical computation device relates light from a plurality of light sources to calculate an arithmetic solution. The optical numerical computation device includes input circuitry, pre-calculation circuitry, calculation circuitry, a light collection cavity, and a plurality of light computation components. The pre-calculation circuitry and calculation circuitry cause light sources to emit light representing the values of input operands, which is subsequently related within the light collection cavity. Sensors then generate resultant outputs at values indicative of the sensed light value. The respective wavelength of light emitted from or sensed by each light computation component may be associated with an operand arithmetic sign.
