    Abstract: A UV/LED printing and finishing process is disclosed. The printing and finishing process improves the manner in which printing, permanent bonding, and finishing is performed on products containing low surface energy plastics, such as high-density polyethylene furniture. The process includes abrading a surface of the low surface energy plastic and then applying a corona or plasma treatment to the surface of the low surface energy plastic to increase the adhesion capabilities of the surface. Once the surface has been treater, the process may include printing a polymer ink onto the surface of the low surface energy plastic, such as by utilizing a UV/LED flatbed or hybrid printer. The process may also include curing the printed surface of the low surface energy plastic, and then finally applying a clear inorganic top coating onto the printed surface to protect the UV/LED cured polymer ink.

    Abstract: According to one or more embodiments, a method of encoding a mesh includes: determining a global symmetry plane of the mesh that divides the mesh into a first side and a second side; based on the determination that the mesh is partially symmetric: determining each vertex from the plurality of vertices having a symmetry error larger than a first error threshold; performing a clustering process on the plurality of vertices based on the determined symmetry error for each vertex such that each vertex having a symmetry error larger than the first symmetry error threshold is clustered together in one or more clusters; dividing the mesh into a plurality of sub-meshes based on the clustering process; determining whether each sub-mesh is one of fully symmetric, partially symmetric, and asymmetric; and performing symmetry coding on each sub-mesh from the plurality of sub-meshes that is determined to be fully symmetric.

    Abstract: Methods and systems for location-based triggering of an electrically switchable glass of a vehicle for use in interactive applications. In some aspects, a system may be used to initiate an interactive application at the vehicle via electrically switchable glass of the vehicle. The system determines that the vehicle is at a location configured for an interactive application, and based on the location of the vehicle, triggers opacity of a portion of the electrically switchable glass. The system determines, based on a position and orientation of the electrically switchable glass, an image projector device having an angle of projection closest to perpendicular to a plane of the electrically switchable glass. The system may calibrate parameters of the image projector device and generate an image for projection using data corresponding to the interactive application. The system projects the first image onto the electrically switchable glass using the image projector device.

A method of operating a host vehicle includes a resident or remote vehicle controller verifying the host vehicle is an incapacitated state. Responsive to the incapacitation of the host vehicle, the controller detects the host vehicle being towed by a tow vehicle and identifies a wireless-enabled portable computing device (PCD) within a predefined range of the host vehicle. Responsive to the host vehicle being towed, the controller determines if the wireless-enabled PCD is on the tow vehicle while towing the host vehicle. Upon detection of a thermal event in at least one battery cell in the host vehicle's battery system while the host vehicle is being towed, the controller responsively commands a resident vehicle subsystem to execute a control operation to mitigate the thermal event.
