  • Patent number: 12096030
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method and an apparatus including processing circuitry for video decoding. The processing circuitry determines a transform candidate for a block in a current picture from a group of transform sets based on one of a feature vector {right arrow over (F)} or a feature scalar S extracted from reconstructed samples in one or more neighboring blocks of the block. Each transform set of the group of transform sets can include one or more transform candidates for the block. The one or more neighboring blocks can be in the current picture or a reconstructed picture different from the current picture. • Patent number: 12094487
Abstract: An audio system for spatializing virtual sound sources is described. A microphone array of the audio system is configured to monitor sound in a local area. A controller of the audio system identifies sound sources within the local area using the monitored sound from the microphone array and determines their locations. The controller of the audio system generates a target position for a virtual sound source based on one or more constraints. The one or more constraints include that the target position be at least a threshold distance away from each of the determined locations of the identified sound sources. The controller generates one or more sound filters based in part on the target position to spatialize the virtual sound source. A transducer array of the audio system presents spatialized audio including the virtual sound source content based in part on the one or more sound filters.

  • Patent number: 12092146
Abstract: A speed nut provides a separable housing, when closed, defining an internally threaded cavity for engaging a threaded shaft, and when open, allowing movement of the speed nut along the shaft without engagement of the threads. Interdigitated knuckles on the housing portions provide robust resistance against axial shifting when the nut is used to apply axial force to the threaded shaft. The knuckles may also provide a hinge point allowing the nut to be opened and closed with a simple hinging action and a means for locking the nut portions together through a releasable pin passing through the opposite knuckles.

  • Patent number: 12092164
Abstract: Various methods and systems are provided for an dual-faced clutch collar for a transmission. In one example, a dual-faced clutch collar positioned on an output shaft of a gearbox comprises a clutch collar spline, where the clutch collar spline mates with the output shaft; a first face having a first set of axially protruding teeth to engage a high torque coupling, the first set of teeth having a first profile; and a second face having a second set of axially protruding teeth to engage a low torque coupling; the second set of teeth having a second profile; the second profile being different from the first profile. The first profile may be a courser tooth profile, to allow for maximum load carrying capacity, and the second profile may be a finer tooth profile, to allow for quicker gear engagements and more neutral space (e.g., due to reduced tooth depths).

  • Patent number: 12096246
Abstract: This document describes techniques and apparatuses for optimizing a cellular network using machine learning. In particular, a network-optimization controller uses machine learning to determine an optimized network-configuration parameter that affects a performance metric of the cellular network. To make this determination, the network-optimization controller requests and analyzes gradients determined by one or more user equipments, one or more base stations, or combinations thereof. By using machine learning, the network-optimization controller identifies different optimized network-configuration parameters associated with different local optima or global optima of an optimization function, and selects a particular optimized network-configuration parameter that is appropriate for a given environment. In this manner, the network-optimization controller dynamically optimizes the cellular network to account for both short-term and long-term environmental changes.
