  • Patent number: 12095629
Abstract: Example methods and systems for a computer system to perform security threat detection during service query handling are described. In one example, a process running on a virtualized computing instance supported by the computer system may generate and send a first service query specifying a query input according to a service protocol. The first service query may be detected by a security agent configured to operate in a secure enclave that is isolated from the process. Next, the security agent may generate and send a second service query specifying the query input in the first service query. It is then determined whether there is a potential security threat based on a comparison between (a) a first reply received responsive to the first service query and (b) a second reply received responsive to the second service query.

  • Patent number: 12095984
Abstract: Whether one of (i) a boundary of a first reference subblock of a first subblock in a first reference picture is positioned beyond a boundary of the first reference picture and (ii) a boundary of a second reference subblock of the first subblock in a second reference picture is positioned beyond a boundary of the second reference picture is determined. Responsive to (i) the boundary of the first reference subblock of the first subblock in the first reference picture being beyond the boundary of the first reference picture and (ii) the boundary of the second reference subblock of the first subblock in the second reference picture being positioned within the boundary of the second reference picture, the first subblock of a current block is reconstructed based on a uni-prediction mode such that the first subblock is reconstructed based on the second reference subblock of the second reference picture.

  • Patent number: 12094054
Abstract: Examples relate to implementations of a neural light transport. A computing system may obtain data indicative of a plurality of UV texture maps and a geometry of an object. Each UV texture map depicts the object from a perspective of a plurality of perspectives. The computing system may train a neural network to learn a light transport function using the data. The light transport function may be a continuous function that specifies how light interacts with the object when the object is viewed from the plurality of perspectives. The computing system may generate an output UV texture map that depicts the object from a synthesized perspective based on an application of the light transport function by the trained neural network.

  • Patent number: 12091982
Abstract: A turbine component includes a first structure exposed to a hot gas path and a second structure integral with the first structure but isolated from the hot gas path. A first fluid passage in the first structure delivers a thermal transfer fluid, e.g., air, through the first structure to cool the first structure. A second fluid passage is defined within the second structure and is in fluid communication with the first fluid passage. After heat transfer in the first structure, the thermal transfer fluid is hotter than a temperature of the second structure and thus increases the temperature of the second structure. The heat transfer to the second structure reduces a temperature difference between the first structure and the second structure that would, without heating, cause thermal stress between the structures. The heating of the second structure reduces the need for early maintenance and lengthens the lifespan of the component.

  • Patent number: 12094312
Abstract: A method, performed by a user device, to manage a crisis situation of a user is provided. The method includes obtaining a profile of the user and a real-time location of the user. The method further includes obtaining a plurality of measurements associated with the user from a plurality of measurement units of the user device. Furthermore, the method includes determining whether one or more of the plurality of measurements exceed respective first predefined threshold values. When the one or more measurements exceed the respective first predefined threshold values, the method includes calculating a probability of the crisis situation. Responsive to calculating the probability, the method includes determining a type of the crisis situation. Additionally, the method includes actuating one or more mitigation steps, based on the probability, the type of the crisis situation, and the real-time location of the user.

  • Patent number: 12096121
Abstract: Geiger mode photo diodes are solid state photodetectors that are able to detect single photons. Such Geiger mode photo diodes are also referred to as single-photon detectors (SPDs). An array of SPDs can be used as a single detector element in an active sensing system, but sensor systems based on SPD arrays have at least two shortcomings due to ambient light. First, solar background light can hamper the ability to accurately determine depth. Second, ambient light impacts the reflectivity precision because of challenges differentiating between reflected light and ambient light. Embodiments enable active sensors that remove the ambient signal from a sensor's optical input. Other embodiments produce sensor intensity values that have higher precision than typical SPD array devices. Further embodiments produce sensor depth values that have higher precision than typical SPD array devices.

  • Patent number: 12091049
Abstract: Example embodiments relate to methods and systems for automatic problematic maneuver detection and adapted motion planning. A computing device may obtain a route for navigation by a vehicle and a set of vehicle parameters corresponding to the vehicle. Each vehicle parameter can represent a physical attribute of the vehicle. The computing device may generate a virtual vehicle that represents the vehicle based on the set of vehicle parameters and perform a simulation that involves the virtual vehicle navigating the route. Based on the results of the simulation, the computing device may provide the original route or a modified route to the vehicle for the vehicle to subsequently navigate to its destination. In some cases, the simulation may further factor additional conditions, such as potential weather and traffic conditions that are likely to occur during the time when the vehicle plans on navigating the route.
