  • Patent number: 12343185
Abstract: According to one aspect of an exemplary embodiment of the disclosure, an imaging device or system, e.g., a mammography imaging system or device, includes a breast holding pad disposed on one or both of a compression paddle and a compression surface on the imaging device. The breast holding pad is formed with a central layer, a first, securing adhesive layer on one side of the central layer and a second, biocompatible adhesive layer disposed on the opposite side of the central layer. The biocompatible adhesive operates to securely hold the breast during any imaging and/or biopsy procedure performed utilizing the imaging system. Further, with the use of one or both pads, the amount of compression force required to hold the breast in a stationary position between the compression paddle and the compression surface can be reduced, thereby decreasing the discomfort to the patient during the imaging and/or biopsy procedure performed.

  • Patent number: 12345102
Abstract: A downhole assembly that includes tubulars rotationally coupled to one another. An interface is between adjacent tubulars that makes up at least a portion of the rotational coupling. Certain surfaces of adjacent tubulars come into contact with one another when adjacent tubulars are rotationally coupled; and which are defined as contact surfaces. Each contact surface is profiled with facets that are complementary to facets on a corresponding contact surface of an adjacent tubular. The profiling of the contact surfaces is such that when a contact surface is brought together with a corresponding contact surface; facets on the contact surface abut facets on the corresponding contact surface along planes that are oblique or parallel with an axis of the tubular. At least some of a rotational torque transmitted between adjacent tubulars occurs across the abutting facets.

  • Patent number: 12348489
Abstract: Automatically selecting an encrypted network connection (such as a VPN tunnel) to use when communicating through another encrypted connection node with which there are multiple encrypted network connections with the computing system. The selection is based predicted latency of that encrypted network connection. The prediction is based on round-trip times of communications over the respective encrypted network connection. This is quite difficult since the encrypted network connection itself is not the entire path of the outgoing message and corresponding incoming message.
