Abstract: A system in a vehicle includes an image sensor to obtain images in an image sensor coordinate system and a depth sensor to obtain point clouds in a depth sensor coordinate system. Processing circuitry implements a neural network to determine a validation state of a transformation matrix that transforms the point clouds in the depth sensor coordinate system to transformed point clouds in the image sensor coordinate system. The transformation matrix includes rotation parameters and translation parameters.

Abstract: A hydraulic damping rail includes a primary rail wall defining a primary rail volume, a rail inlet structured to provide communication of hydraulic fluid between a hydraulic pump and the primary rail volume, and a plurality of rail outlets configured to provide communication between the primary rail volume and a plurality of clutch valves. A spacing between adjacent pairs of rail outlets of the plurality of rail outlets is variable.

Abstract: A computing system receives at least one first image of a first device affixed to a structure above ground. The computing system determines that the at least one first image depicts a CATV tap comprising a plurality of coaxial connectors. The computing system determines, based in part on the at least one first image and a set of coaxial cables, each coaxial cable connected to a coaxial connector of the plurality of coaxial connectors, that a use status of the CATV tap is an authorized use status or an unauthorized use status. The computing system performs an action based on the use status.

Abstract: Systems and methods for censoring text characters in text-based data are provided. In some embodiments, an artificial intelligence system may be configured to receive text-based data and store the text-based data in a database. The artificial intelligence system may be configured to receive a list of target pattern types identifying sensitive data and receive censorship rules for the target pattern types determining target pattern types requiring censorship. The artificial intelligence system may be configured to assemble a computer-based model related to a received target pattern type in the list of target pattern types. The artificial intelligence system may be configured to use a computer-based model to identify a target data pattern corresponding to the received target pattern type within the text-based data, identify target characters within the target data pattern, and to assign an identification token to the target characters.

Abstract: A wearable visualization device includes a housing, one or more lenses coupled to the housing and configured to display virtual features for visualization by a user of the wearable visualization device, and a cover coupled to the housing and configured to adjust between an extended configuration in which the cover extends over at least a portion of the one or more lenses and a retracted configuration in which the cover does not extend over at least the portion of the one or more lenses. The wearable visualization device also includes a controller and one or more sensors. The controller is configured to receive sensor data from the one or more sensors and to provide control signals to an actuator to adjust the cover between the extended configuration and the retracted configuration based on the sensor data.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for a multi-layered sound absorption structure. The multi-layered sound absorption structure may include a form material, an acoustic material disposed on a surface of the form material, and a construction material disposed on the acoustic material. The acoustic material may couple to the construction material during curing of the construction material. After the construction material is cured, the form material may be removed exposing a least a portion of the acoustic material.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods and techniques for evaluating and improving algorithms for autonomous driving planning and control (PNC), using one or more metrics (e.g., similarity scores) computed based on expert demonstrations. For example, the one or more metrics allow for improving PNC based on human, as opposed to or in addition to optimizing certain oversimplified properties, such as the least distance or time, as an objective. When driving in certain scenarios, such as taking a turn, people may drive in a distributed probability pattern instead of in a uniform line (e.g., different speeds and different curvatures at the same corner). As such, there can be more than one “correct” control trajectory for an autonomous vehicle to perform in the same turn. Safety, comfort, speeds, and other criteria may lead to different preferences and judgment as to how well the controlled trajectory has been computed.

Abstract: A method for treating wastewater having one or more of suspended solids, dissolved solids, biological oxygen demand includes solids filtration followed by a bi-polar/bi-directional flow through ionic module fitted with anionically/cationically charged plates followed by a sub-sonic resonance module followed by another bi-polar/bi-directional flow through ionic module followed by a ultra-sonic resonance module followed by one or more anion/cation collection membrane modules. Recycle is provided in each step, wherein each step may be repeated, and wherein one or more of the steps can be bypassed.

Abstract: Although wedgelet-based partitioning seems to represent a better tradeoff between side information rate on the one hand and achievable variety in partitioning possibilities on the other hand, compared to contour partitioning, the ability to alleviate the constraints of the partitioning to the extent that the partitions have to be wedgelet partitions, enables applying relatively uncomplex statistical analysis onto overlaid spatially sampled texture information in order to derive a good predictor for the bi-segmentation in a depth/disparity map. Thus, in accordance with a first aspect it is exactly the increase of the freedom which alleviates the signaling overhead provided that co-located texture information in form of a picture is present. Another aspect pertains the possibility to save side information rate involved with signaling a respective coding mode supporting irregular partitioning.

Abstract: A method to highlight video segments in a video stream, where the method includes receiving a video stream from a video source, identifying a highlight segment within the video stream based on a machine learning model, the highlight segment being deemed to be worthy of replay by the machine learning model, and starting and ending frames of the highlight segment being identified by applying the machine learning model to the video stream and corresponding audio data, and providing an availability indication of the highlight segment in the video stream once the starting and ending frames of the highlight segment are identified.

Abstract: A billiard table top lighting apparatus provides substantially uniform lighting across the surface of a billiard table surface. In one form, the lighting apparatus includes a frame supporting lights that are non-centrally placed such that no lights are supported above a middle portion of the billiard table surface. So configured, the frame can have an attractive profile and further mount additional items above the billiard table surface to enable a variety of other features. For example, the frame may support one or more cameras, one or more motion sensors, one or more microphones, and/or one or more computing devices to enable any of a variety of innovative features. Abstract: A variable ballast propulsion shipping vessel comprising a lead segment, a cargo segment(s), and/or a tail segment hingedly attached in series. Each lead and cargo segment includes a bottom-mounted fixed ballast, a top-mounted dorsal wing with rudder, and side mounted pairs of planed wings projecting laterally (fixed or stowable). An onboard variable ballast tank is selectively air filled using a compressed air compartment and water filled/exhausted using a ballast port(s). An battery bank is charged by an battery charger (e.g., using impellers) and powers an air compressor, rudder and/or planes. A cargo bay in the cargo segment(s) is accessible through a cargo door, a hatch, and/or a capped filler neck. A shipping vessel control system creates and distributes control commands (through wired and/or wireless interfaces) to selectively operate the respective ballast tanks of the lead and cargo segments to change travel state among positive, negative, and neutral buoyancies.

Abstract: A composition, a machine component coated with the same, and a method of coating the machine component are provided. The composition includes a CoNiCrAlY alloy, where three or more elements of the CoNiCrAlY alloy are present in equimolar amounts, one of the three or more elements of the CoNiCrAlY alloy being aluminum (Al), and where a molar fraction of Al is between about 0.20 and about 0.25. The composition further includes a transition metal boride including at least one of: cobalt boride (Co2B), titanium boride (TiB2), zirconium boride (ZrB2), tantalum boride (TaB2), niobium boride (NiB2), or molybdenum boride (Mo2B), and a refractory alloy.

Abstract: A binder for an electrode is provided herein. In one example, the electrode may include a current collector, and an electrode coating layer, the electrode coating layer including an electrode active material and a binder, where the binder may comprise an aromatic polyamide-based compound, and the binder may be present at greater than 0 wt % and less than or equal to 30 wt % of the electrode coating layer. In one example, the binder provides stronger cohesion between particles of the electrode active material. Methods and systems are further provided for fabricating the electrode including the binder.

Abstract: A method of validating a directional survey includes measuring the gravity and magnetic field vectors using a surveying tool and computing an overall statistical distance of the measurement. The statistical distance may be calculated from reference values associated with the surveying tool using corresponding surveying tool codes with error values. In a further aspect, an error covariance matrix may be used to determine whether the new errors in a survey are consistent or not with errors from one or more previous surveys.
