  • Patent number: 12262774
Abstract: A batting helmet system includes sockets facing the interior region of the helmet shell to receive clip elements for holding a chin strap or to receive plate elements for supporting a face protector. A clip element includes a base portion, a hook portion extending from the base portion, and a projection positioned on an end of the hook portion and extending toward the base portion. The base portion may include a strap retainer. When the clip element is installed, the clip element extends from the interior of the helmet to the exterior of the helmet through an opening in the helmet shell, so that the strap retainer is positioned outside the helmet shell. A face protector may include plate elements for positioning in one or more of the sockets. Plate elements and sockets may have corresponding geometries that limit rotation of the face protector relative to the helmet shell.

  • Patent number: 12265891
Abstract: This application relates to apparatus and methods for training machine learning models using supervised, or semi-supervised, learning. In some examples, a computing device obtains training data that includes labelled, and unlabeled, data for training a machine learning model. The computing device applies the machine learning model to the training data to generate output data. The machine learning model executes with a plurality of coefficients applied to a plurality of hyperparameters. The computing device further applies a loss model to the training data and the output data to generate a loss value. Based on the loss values, the computing device determines updated values for the plurality of coefficients of the machine learning model. The computing device may continue to determine updated values for the plurality of coefficients until one or more conditions are satisfied. The computing device may then store the final coefficient values in a data repository.

  • Patent number: 12267645
Abstract: An audio system controls feedback when beamforming an output for production by transducers by generating a beamforming output signal based on audio from a first set and a second set of acoustic sensors. The first set may include acoustic sensors that may experience feedback from the transducers. The second set may exclude the acoustic sensors that cause feedback. The beamforming output from each set are combined as a weighted combination based on a beamforming coefficient that may be dynamically set to increase contribution of the first set until the combined output causes feedback, enabling the total beamforming output to benefit from a larger set of acoustic sensors while avoiding detrimental feedback. The interaural characteristics of the external environment may also be analyzed and the beamforming output modified to increase a difference in the interaural characteristic and thereby increase perception of the beamforming output.

  • Patent number: 12264642
Abstract: In certain embodiments, a PFI diffuser induction device may use toroidal vortex flow to thoroughly mix H2 and air in the intake runner and port of a H2 engine. When H2 enters a stream of air flow in the form of a toroidal vortex, it may tend to swallow the air into the vortex where a low-pressure region may be formed due to the swirling velocity of the vortex, which may be more effective that the typical mixing via conventional injection methods. Engine test measurements show remarkable improvements in engine combustion stability as well as engine efficiency and power output using a counterflow Toroidal Vortex Induction Diffuser to achieve high levels of fuel mixture homogeneity in combustion engines using hard-to-mix fuels like H2, CH3OH, C2H5OH and other gaseous and liquid fuels.
