Abstract: An eyepiece shield (10, 10b) for a sporting optic (14, 14b), such as binoculars or a spotting scope, comprises an irregular frusto-conical shell (22, 22b) with a narrower end circumscribing at least one eyepiece hole (26), and a wider end circumscribing an oblong eye opening (30, 30b). The eye opening is non-parallel with the eyepiece hole, and has a concave profile with respect to at least one viewing axis (34) between the holes. The shell comprises a flexible and resilient, laminate material with different inner and outer layers sandwiching an intermediate foam layer. In addition, the shield comprises a fastener (114) with first and second fastener portions (118, 120) carried on opposite sides of the shell at the eye opening to closed the shield with the opposite sides of the eye opening folded in towards one another, and the fastener is fastened with the first and second fastener portions joined together.

Abstract: A method of operating an autonomous racetrack driver coach and demonstrator in an autonomous vehicle employing operating systems for propulsion and maneuvering includes identifying a road course and mapping a velocity profile and a trajectory for the vehicle via a remote configurator. The trajectory defines a vehicle path around the road course and with the velocity profile minimizes the vehicle's lap time. The method also includes determining a presence of a human passenger/operator in the vehicle. The method additionally includes determining, via an electronic controller in communication with a remote detection source, localization of the vehicle on the road course. The method also includes determining vehicle velocity, acceleration, and heading relative to the mapped trajectory.

Abstract: Techniques and apparatuses are described for adaptive phase-changing device power-saving operations. In aspects, a base station determines to transition an adaptive phase-changing device (APD) into an enabled APD-PS mode and determines an APD-PS configuration for the APD that specifies a framework for operating in the enabled APD-PS mode. The base station then directs the APD to operate in the enabled APD-PS mode by communicating the APD-PS configuration to the APD and transmits or receives wireless signals using a surface of the APD and based on the APD-PS configuration.

Abstract: A seal assembly for insertion into a hollow body organ is provided. The assembly includes a tubular hollow extrusion having a proximal end, a distal end and an interior surface between the proximal end and the distal end. A proximal balloon is located at the proximal end of the extrusion and a distal balloon is located at the distal end of the extrusion. An expandable scaffold engages the interior surface of the extrusion.

Abstract: An adjustable target disc-catching device allowing a player to manually slide a plurality of chains from outer chain wells to inner chain wells (or vice versa) allowing the player to easily contract or expand the target of the disc-catching device, thereby making a throw-in harder (contracting the chains to a smaller target area) or easier (expanding the chains to a larger target area).

Abstract: A method of providing an onboard assistant for a vehicle, comprising: receiving sensor data from sensors of the vehicle; transforming the sensor data using a trained machine learning model to provide transformed sensor data; inferring from the transformed sensor data that a special condition for the vehicle requires intervention; and contacting an operator of the vehicle to inform the operator of the special condition and receive instructions for handling the special condition.

Abstract: A thermal interface material is provided. The thermal interface material comprises: (A) a polyolefin having at least two hydroxy groups per molecule; (B) at least one thermally conductive filler; (C) a phase change material with a melting point of 25 to 150° C.; and (D) a coupling agent. A content of component (B) is at least 80 mass %, a content of component (C) is 0.01 to 1 mass %, and a content of component (D) is 0.1 to 1 mass %, each based on a total mass of the thermal interface material. The thermal interface material becomes softer as its temperature increases. Meanwhile, the thermal interface material generally does not exhibit pumping-out in electronic devices during power cycling.

Abstract: An apparatus for battery management for a battery pack with multiple operational modes including a battery pack, a sensor communicatively connected to the battery pack, and a PMU that receives battery data from the sensor. PMU is configured to switch operational modes as a function of the battery data. Operational modes may change during non-flight operations and during flight operations.

Abstract: In an agricultural harvester header for an agricultural vehicle including a frame, a reel attached to the frame and having a plurality of reel tine bars, a cutterbar attached to the frame and positioned beneath the reel, an actuator for moving the reel tine bars between a deployed position and a retracted position, a sensor for sensing a position of the cutterbar, and a computer, a method for returning the reel tine bars to the deployed position includes (i) receiving, at the computer, signals from the sensor, (ii) recording a sensed position of the cutterbar when the actuator moves the reel tine bars to the retracted position, and (iii) activating the actuator to return the reel tine bars to the deployed position as a function of when the cutterbar returns to the recorded sensed position.

Abstract: A tank monitor control system, device and methods are disclosed that are suitable for remote monitoring. The device comprises a monitoring unit for insertion into a fluid holding device or tank to monitor a level of fluid stored in the fluid holding device. The monitoring unit comprises at least one sensor and a communication device for transmitting the data. Additional functionalities include location data, temperature data, water quality properties, and a pressure device for measuring pressure and calculating the weight of the fluid. The system provides automatic data generation and user defined alerts along with the ability to use artificial intelligence.

Abstract: Various arrangements for managing which earbud transmits microphone audio are presented herein. A first earbud of a pair of true wireless earbuds may receive a downstream audio packet addressed to a second earbud of the pair of true wireless earbuds. This first earbud can then transmit a negative acknowledgement indicating that the downstream audio packet was not properly received despite the first earbud having properly received the downstream audio packet. With the negative acknowledgment, the first earbud can then transmit an upstream audio packet using an identity of the second earbud.

Abstract: A method and system for controlling driver communication includes monitoring, via a plurality of on-vehicle subsystems, a vehicle state, an external environment state, and an in-cabin state via the plurality of on-vehicle subsystems; determining a driver workload score based upon the external environment state, the in-cabin state, and the vehicle state; receiving an incoming message; ranking the incoming message; determining a notification action for the incoming message based upon the driver workload score and the rank of the incoming message; and executing the notification action for the incoming message.

Abstract: Embodiments of golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads are generally described herein. In one example, a golf club head may include a body portion with a bottom portion comprising a toe-side wall, a heel-side wall, a center portion between toe-side and heel-side walls, a wall portion extending into an interior cavity of the body portion from an inner surface of the bottom portion, a weight portion, a weight port on the bottom portion located between the wall portion and a face portion. The weight port is configured to receive the weight portion. A polymer material is between the weight port and the wall portion. A rear portion of the polymer material is coupled to the wall portion and a front portion of the polymer material is coupled to the weight port. The bore(s) of the hollow fiber membranes are open at a face of the tubesheet adjacent the first end of the bundle. The tubesheet has an annular structure that encapsulates the hollow fiber membranes and the porous support tube at the first end of the bundle but which does not completely block a bore of the porous support tube, wherein the collection tube has a plurality of orifices formed therein at least at positions adjacent the nub.

Abstract: Retrofittable satellite systems for an in-orbit host satellite comprising an enhancement module for adding a capability to the in-orbit host satellite, modifying the function of the in-orbit host satellite, and/or extending the function of the in-orbit host satellite. The in-orbit, retrofittable satellite system comprises a transfer vehicle for transferring the enhancement module from a first to a second location and a service vehicle for receiving the enhancement module from the transfer vehicle and installing the enhancement module on the in-orbit host satellite.

Abstract: User biometric information based authentication techniques are provided for a wearer of a near-eye display device in engagement with multimedia content and/or access to restricted data. Biological and/or behavioral biometric information associated with the user may be captured through sensors and similar devices integrated or communicatively coupled to the near-eye display device. The biological biometric information may include data associated with a user's face, fingerprint, palmprint, iris, retina, cardio-electrical signals, etc. The behavioral biometric information may include data associated with a user's movement, gait, gesture(s), voice, etc. An authentication technique may be automatically select one based on environmental conditions (e.g., noise or light levels). Near-eye display device may detect continuous wearing by the user and refresh or continue authentication following a period of non-use or between two different authenticated sessions.

Abstract: Systems and methods for apportioning cloud-based resources through the use of domain name services based on real-time cloud-based database engine traffic patterns. For example, the system may monitor incoming cloud-based database engine traffic over a plurality of disparate computer network resources. The system may generate a first recommendation for domain name service based on the first difference, wherein the first recommendation requests a modification of an allocation of the plurality of disparate computer network resources.
