Abstract: Bone fixation systems include various combinations of stabilizing members, dynamic elements, fasteners, and locking mechanisms. Bone plates receive dynamic bone staples and bone screws. Other dynamic elements include elbow pegs, straight pegs, and wire pegs.

Abstract: Methods and systems for implementing a moving target defense are described. The moving target defense can comprise obfuscating a protocol identifier within a packet. The protocol identifier can be replaced with a faux protocol identifier. Additionally, diversion headers can be inserted into to the packet, thereby creating additional layers of complexity.

Abstract: An alternate exercise adapter for exercise machines having an intended function is designed to be attached to an exercise machine in order to provide the option of performing alternative exercises beyond the intended function(s) of the exercise machine, thereby transforming the exercise machine (such as a rowing machine) into a multi-use, multi-purpose training device. The adapter may include a pulley mounted on a pivoting arm, affixed to mounting blocks for attaching the adapter to an exercise machine. By placing the exercise machine's drive chain or belt in the open-block pulley, the drive path may be altered, e.g. allowing the transfer of force in the vertical plane. This may allow a user to perform additional exercise movements (bicep curls, reverse bicep curls, shoulder front raises, high pulls, overhead presses, front squats, et. cetera), providing for alternate use of the exercise machine's resistance mechanisms.

Abstract: Among other things, techniques are described for predicting how an agent (e.g., a vehicle, bicycle, pedestrian, etc.) will move in an environment based on prior movement, the road network, the surrounding objects and/or other relevant environmental factors. One trajectory prediction technique involves generating a probability map for an agent's movement. Another trajectory prediction technique involves generating a trajectory lattice, for an agent's movement. In addition, a different trajectory prediction technique involves multi-modal regression where a classifier (e.g., a neural network) is trained to classify the probability of a number of (learned) modes such that each model produces a trajectory based on the current input.

Abstract: A top mount assembly includes an attachment bracket having a flange section, a piston rod mount section, and a cylinder section, the flange section includes a plurality of apertures for receiving a plurality of fastener bolts, the piston rod mount section being configured to receive a piston rod, and the cylinder section of the attachment bracket includes an annular chamber that receives an annular working piston.

Abstract: In accordance with some embodiments, a game table such as a smart baccarat table may be equipped with one or more detecting components (e.g., an RFID antenna, an NFC antenna or an optical reader) to identify gaming elements placed in a certain area of the smart table that a dealer of the table places gaming elements into when conducting a transaction. A specific type of transaction may be automatically inferred by the game table, without a dealer specifically requesting an initiation of a mode or process for the type of transaction, based on statuses of the gaming elements detected within the area. For example, a Change Transaction may be inferred upon the game table determining that both inventory and non-inventory game elements are present within the area of the table at the same time.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods are provided for securing an intra-osseous device within a safety device to prevent stick injuries and to guide the removal of the intra-osseous device from the bone of a patient. A body of the safety device has a cavity that receives the intra-osseous device, and the cavity guides the removal of the intra-osseous device along a straight line to prevent injury during removal. The intra-osseous device is drawn past a lock feature that secures the intra-osseous device within the body such that a needle of the intra-osseous device is contained within a cavity of the body and cannot injure the patient, staff members, etc.

Abstract: A medical services kiosk supporting private and secure telemedicine sessions between a patient and a remote network terminal utilized by a remote health care professional. The medical services kiosk comprising at least one privacy chamber having at least one door and at least one window. Each privacy chamber may include a user interactive display terminal that includes a display device, an input device, and a centralized processor, wherein the centralized processor is electronically communicable with the remote network terminal and a cloud based system. Each patient station may each include at least one documentation receiving device, at least one biometric device for obtaining biometric health measurements of the patient utilizing the at least one patient station, an arm mechanism, a seating mechanism, a camera, a retractable diagnostic camera device, a lighting mechanism that lights the privacy chamber, and a purification system.

Abstract: Battery thermal suppression systems may be provided for battery arrays and/or traction battery packs. Exemplary thermal suppression systems may include one or more aerosol devices that are adapted to release aerosol particles that may be distributed over and/or around battery cells/battery arrays during battery thermal events, thereby mitigating thermal propagation. The aerosol devices may be active or passive devices and can be implanted at the battery array level, the traction battery pack level, or both.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described for transferring power. A power transfer device may be configured to securely fit in a fuse block, fuse holder, and/or the like. The power transfer device may transfer power from a source to a load connected to the fuse block, fuse holder, and/or the like, while also isolating the power to prevent the power from backfeeding to the source. The power transfer device may be used to perform testing, measurements, and/or analysis (e.g., voltage measurements, power measurements, frequency analysis, system impedance testing, etc.).

Abstract: The disclosed system may include a substructure configured to support various components, an actuator configured to provide substantially linear motion along a specified axis in response to an electrical input, an input component hingedly coupled to the substructure, where the input component is configured to receive input from a user, and a mechanical linkage coupled to the input component and to at least a portion of the actuator. The mechanical linkage may be configured to translate the substantially linear motion provided by the actuator to a rotary force applied to the input component via the mechanical linkage. Abstract: The swivel knife holder assembly includes a shoulder screw defining an axis, and having a proximal threaded end and a distal head, and mounted on the shoulder screw is a bobbin assembly. The swivel knife holder assembly also includes a shell defining an interior, and having a distal opening and a proximal opening. A core is secured in the interior and is coupled to a knife for cutting fabric material. The proximal opening of the shell is defined by a flange and houses the shoulder screw therein. Threadably coupled to the proximal threaded end of the shoulder screw is a stem. The stem secures the bobbin assembly within the shell and also includes a mounting surface for engaging a reciprocating drive mechanism.

Abstract: A parison tube former utilizes a radial compression heater to heat a very specific portion of a preform tube for stretching. The heater has a plurality of compression dies that form a central cavity for receiving the preform tube. The working surfaces of the compression dies close down onto the outer surface of the preform tube to heat the tube via conduction, which more accurately and precisely heats the preform tube. A first stretched portion of the preform tube is produced by stretching the preform tube after heating. A second portion of the preform tube is then located within the central cavity and is also heated by the radial compression heater and stretched to produce a second stretched portion of the preform tube and an unexpanded portion of the preform tube, or balloon portion of the parison tube.

Abstract: Methods of determining a final space reservation for a new aircraft are disclosed. The methods include using parametric definitions of potential payloads to generate a population of representative payloads for use in creating an initial space reservation. The methods include accounting for and applying a variety of margins on each potential payload and taking the union of potential payloads. Alternatively, the union can be taken first and then the margins applied. A homogenous space reservation can be determined based upon a variety of differently shaped or sized payloads, including a margin build-up to mitigate risk of unknowns associated with future changes in specific payload shapes and sizes, build tolerances, environmental conditions, and/or loading and unloading motions and clearances. Once this space reservation is known, it is possible to design an external shape of a carrying vehicle by staying outside of this space reservation.

Abstract: Motion prediction using optical flow is determined to be available for a current frame in response to determining that a reference frame buffer includes, with respect to the current frame, a forward reference frame and a backward reference frame. A flag indicating whether a current block is encoded using optical flow is decoded. Responsive to determining that the flag indicates that the current block is encoded using optical flow, a motion vector is decoded for the current block; a location of an optical flow reference block is identified within an optical flow reference frame based on the motion vector; subsequent to identifying the location of the optical flow reference block, the optical flow reference block is generated using the forward reference frame and the backward reference frame without generating the optical flow reference frame; and the current block is decoded based on the optical flow reference block.

Abstract: A system and method for beam switching by a User Terminal (UT). The method includes initiating a beam switch between an old beam and a new beam when the UT is disposed in an overlap area of the old beam and the new beam; duplicating over the new beam, at a Network Access Point (NAP), user traffic to the UT; and assigning a Time Division Multiplex Access (TDMA) allocation for the UT on the new beam, prior to an arrival of the UT on the new beam, where the user traffic traversing a satellite network remains uninterrupted during the beam switch and the NAP redirects user traffic for the UT via the old beam to the new beam.

Abstract: A device for inserting dowel bars, the device having at least one floor plate, and the at least one floor plate defines a slot. One or more bar holders are provided, and the one or more bar holders are positioned above the slot defined within the at least one floor plate. The one or more bar holders are capable of holding a dowel bar, but the one or more bar holders are capable of allowing the dowel bar to move through the slot defined within the at least one floor plate when the dowel bar is pushed. The device has at least one fork movable longitudinally with respect to the at least one floor plate. Additionally, the device moves in a forward direction over a newly formed concrete slab, and the fork is capable of being lowered to push a dowel bar downward into the newly formed concrete slab.

Abstract: The present invention generally relates to an attachment for a firearm that communicates with remote device or person such as emergency services. One embodiment of the present invention is selectively interconnected to a picatinny rail, weaver rail, or other mounting means, and the embodiment includes a button that allows a user to initiate communication with emergency services without removing his or her hands from the firearm.

Abstract: Techniques for automatic adaptive scanning with a laser scanner include obtaining range measurements at a coarse angular resolution and forming a horizontally sorted range gate subset and a characteristic range. A fine angular resolution is determined automatically based on the characteristic range and a target spatial resolution. If the fine angular resolution is finer than the coarse angular resolution, then a minimum and maximum vertical angle is automatically determined in each horizontal slice extending a bin size from any previous horizontal slice. A set of adaptive minimum and maximum vertical angles is determined automatically by dilating and interpolating the minimum and maximum vertical angles of all the slices to the second horizontal angular resolution. A horizontal start angle, and the set of adaptive minimum and maximum vertical angles are sent to cause the ranging system to obtain measurements at the second angular resolution.
