Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing an account holder with an incentive-consent matrix at a point-of-sale device of a merchant. The account holder can provide consent to store transaction related data and obtain an incentive in exchange. The incentive out be a coupon or other offering associated with the merchant. Varying levels of consent can be offered, with each level associated with an incentive having a different relative value. The transaction data can subsequently be provided to a recipient in accordance with the consent received from the account holder.

Abstract: In the present invention, provided are a magnetic resonance imaging system, a method for determining a SAR value of a magnetic resonance imaging system, and a computer-readable storage medium. The system comprises a radio-frequency transmitting coil, configured to receive radio-frequency power from a radio-frequency transmitting link and transmit radio-frequency power required for imaging to a scanned object. The system further comprises a reflection coefficient determining module, a resistance value determining module, and a SAR value determining module. The reflection coefficient determining module is configured to acquire a frequency response of a first input reflection coefficient of the radio-frequency transmitting coil when having no load and a frequency response of a second input reflection coefficient thereof when having the scanned object.

The method may include identifying, by a primary data node, a protection policy event initiating performance of data protection services for data stored in the shared storage used by the primary data node and secondary data nodes; in response to identifying the protection policy event: obtaining primary data node monitoring information associated with the primary data node; obtaining secondary data node monitoring information associated with the secondary data nodes; assigning at least one resource limit to the primary data node and the secondary data nodes based on the primary data node monitoring information and the secondary data node monitoring information; and initiating performance of the data protection services by the primary data node and the secondary data nodes based on the assigned at least one resource limit.
Abstract: A switchable privacy display apparatus comprises a polarised output spatial light modulator, and an additional polariser. A reflective polariser, switchable liquid crystal polar control retarder, passive polar control retarders and air gap are arranged between the display output polariser and additional polariser. The passive retarders are arranged to provide no phase difference to polarised light from the spatial light modulator for on-axis light; and simultaneously provide a non-zero phase difference for polarised light in off-axis directions. The polar control retarders are further arranged to achieve low reflectivity for light propagating through the air gap. A switchable privacy display that can be conveniently assembled at low cost can be provided with high contrast images for display users while maintaining high visual security level for off-axis snoopers.
Abstract: A Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system that is configured to receive a refrigerant from a condenser at a fixed expansion device and a variable expansion device. The system is further configured to output a first portion of the refrigerant to a first downstream HVAC component at a fixed flow rate using the fixed expansion device. The system is further configured to sense a temperature of an evaporator using a sensing bulb and to apply a first force to a pin of the variable expansion device based on the sensed temperature. The system is further configured to apply a second force to a valve of the variable expansion device via the force applied to the pin and to output a second portion of the refrigerant to a second downstream HVAC component at a variable flow rate based on the second force using the valve of the variable expansion device.

Abstract: Techniques and devices are disclosed for forming wettable flanks on no-leads semiconductor packages. A lead frame assembly may include a plurality of leads, each lead including a die surface and a plating surface, and an integrated circuit die arranged on the die surface. The plating surface for each of the leads may be plated with an electrical plating. A connecting film may be applied and lead frame assembly may be singulated into individual semiconductor packages by a series of cuts through each of the plurality of leads and the electrical plating of each of the plurality of leads to a depth up to or through a portion of the connecting film to create a channel exposing lead sidewalls of each of the plurality of leads. The lead sidewalls of each of the plurality of leads may be plated with a second electrical plating and the connecting film may be removed.

Abstract: Embodiments of a Majorana-based qubit are disclosed herein. The qubit is based on the formation of superconducting islands, some parts of which are topological (T) and some parts of which are non-topological. Also disclosed are example techniques for fabricating such qubits. In one embodiment, a semiconductor nanowire is grown, the semiconductor nanowire having a surface with an oxide layer. A dielectric insulator layer is deposited onto a portion of the oxide layer of the semiconductor nanowire, the portion being designed to operate as a non-topological segment in the quantum device. An etching process is performed on the oxide layer of the semiconductor nanowire that removes the oxide layer at the surface of the semiconductor nanowire but maintains the oxide layer in the portion having the deposited dielectric insulator layer. A superconductive layer is deposited on the surface of the semiconductor nanowire, including over the dielectric insulator layer.

Abstract: A calibration joint for a three-phase electric disconnect switch includes a linkage pipe extending through a lock ring, which includes an axial guide shaft, a threaded shaft, and a self-piercing set screw securing the lock ring to the linkage pipe. The linkage pipe also extends through a clevis housing, which includes an axial joiner shaft and a clevis bracket securing the clevis housing to an operating lever of the disconnect switch. An adjustment rod extending through the axial guide shaft of the lock ring, through the axial joiner shaft of the clevis housing, and engaging with lock nuts allows axial adjustment of the clevis housing with respect to the lock ring, and thus with respect to the linkage pipe. This, in turn, allows fine adjustment of the blade and jaws of an associated phase switch with respect to the switch actuator independent of the other phase switches.
