Abstract: A floating power generation platform includes a water plane platform having a plurality of buoyant columns, and at least one tower extending above the water plane platform. The tower is configured to support at least one first power generation system and has a center core configured for stowing a deployable member. The floating power generation platform includes a deployable spar movable between a stowed position, in which the deployable spar is stowed within the center core of the tower, and a deployed position, in which the deployable spar is extended below the water plane platform.

Abstract: A heat exchange system for controlling the temperature of the blood of a patient. The heat exchange system comprises a disposable component having a blood inlet to receive blood from the patient and a blood outlet to return blood to the patient, and a permanent component. The permanent component includes a first housing having an inlet and an outlet to exchange thermal fluid with an external device and a second housing having an inlet and an outlet to exchange thermal fluid with the external device. The disposable component is inserted between the first housing and the second housing, such that in a closed position of the permanent component, a first surface of the disposable component is pressed into contact with a surface of the first housing and a second surface of the disposable component is pressed into contact with a surface of the second housing.

Abstract: This disclosure describes methods, devices, systems, and procedures in a computing system for capturing a configuration state of an operating system executing on a central processing unit (CPU), and offloading resource-related tasks, based on the configuration state, to a resource management unit such as a system-on-chip (SoC). The resource management unit identifies a status of each resource based on the captured configuration state of the operating system. The resource management unit then processes tasks associated with the status of the resources, such as modifying a clock rate of a clocked component in the computing system. This can alleviate the CPU from processing those tasks thereby improving overall computing system performance and dynamics.

Abstract: An example method of operation may include determining a frequency response to a measured chirp signal detected from one or more speakers, determining an average value of the frequency response based on a high limit value and a low limit value, subtracting a measured response from a target response, and the target response is based on one or more filter frequencies; determining a frequency limited target filter with audible parameters based on the subtraction, and applying an infinite impulse response (IIR) biquad filter based on an area defined by the frequency limited target filter to equalize the frequency response of the one or more speakers.

A prediction of the current vertex is determined from the plurality of candidate predictions. The prediction is identified by a prediction index that is predetermined based on a number of the plurality of candidate predictions of the current vertex being equal to or larger than a threshold value. Prediction information of the current vertex is encoded based on the determined prediction. The prediction information includes the prediction index identifying the prediction of the current vertex.

Abstract: A method includes receiving follow-on audio data captured by an assistant-enabled device, the follow-on audio data corresponding to a follow-on query spoken by a user of the assistant-enabled device to a digital assistant subsequent to the user submitting a previous query to the digital assistant. The method also includes processing, using a speech recognizer, the follow-on audio data to generate multiple candidate hypotheses, each candidate hypothesis corresponding to a candidate transcription for the follow-on query and represented by a respective sequence of hypothesized terms. For each corresponding candidate hypothesis among the multiple candidate hypotheses, the method also includes determining a corresponding similarity metric between the previous query and the corresponding candidate hypothesis and determining a transcription of the follow-on query spoken by the user based on the similarity metrics determined for the multiple candidate hypotheses.

Abstract: Aspects of the technology relate to rotational electromechanical systems, in which data and or power are supplied to components while one part of the system is rotating relative to another part of the system. Repeated rotation may create strain on or otherwise cause the cables to intermittently or permanently fail. A helical cable management system is provided that enables full rotation to the extent permitted. One or more cables are wound in a helical shape around the axis of rotation, which distributes the deformation of the cable along the helical length. Rotation in one direction causes the helix diameter to increase, while rotation in the other direction causes the helix diameter to decrease. A structure is used to maintain the distance between helical turns, while permitting the increase and decrease of the helix diameter. This reduces the overall strain on the cables, which can significantly extend their useful lifetime.

In an example, a system includes BBU(s), RU(s) communicatively coupled to the BBU(s), and antenna(s) communicatively coupled to the RU(s). Each respective RU of the RU(s) is communicatively coupled to a respective subset of the antenna(s). The BBU(s), the RU(s), and the antenna(s) are configured to implement a base station for wirelessly communicating with user equipment. The system further includes a machine learning computing system configured to receive time data and traffic data, and determine a predicted mode of operation for a UE based on the time data and the traffic data. Component(s) of the system are configured to receive a request from the UE, and dynamically select a dual connectivity mode or a carrier aggregation mode for operation of the UE based on the predicted mode of operation for the UE.

Abstract: Implementations set forth herein relate to subjecting a message to a group rule that causes any message, in a message thread that includes the message, to include certain addresses, regardless of the addresses that are incorporated, by a user, into an address field of a reply message. The group rule can reduce a number of messages that are not provided to a group of intended recipients because of message originators omitting the intended recipients on important messages. Furthermore, this can reduce a number of messages that are sent to compensate for certain reply messages not being received by all intended recipients. A group rule can be modified by any recipient that does not desire to be included in the group rule, and a group rule can expire when one or more conditions are satisfied, thereby causing certain messages to no longer be subject to the group rule.

Abstract: A vehicle includes an engine, a transmission, and a controller. The transmission is configured to transfer power from the engine to at least one drive wheel to propel the vehicle. The controller programmed to, in response to a command to shift the transmission, reduce a torque of the engine from a desired engine torque to a reduced value based on a flare at an input to the transmission during the shift. The controller is further programmed to, in response to the reduced value exceeding a threshold, retard an engine spark and maintain operation of all cylinders of the engine to reduce the torque of the engine during the shift. The controller is further programmed to, in response to the reduced value being less than the threshold, retard the engine spark and shutdown at least one cylinder of the engine to reduce the torque of the engine during the shift.

Abstract: Light emitting diode (LED) light tubes having rotatable end cap assemblies are described. The LED light tubes include a hollow tube and a circuit board with LED chips thereon. The end cap assemblies are provided on either end of the tube. Each end cap assembly includes a socket cap, a plug having a plug body and at least one connector, and an end cap body, one end of which engages one of the ends of the hollow tube. A cam locking mount that is positioned within the plug body and on the opposite side has projections to be positioned in the bore of the end cap body. A rotation cam is seated in the cam locking mount and provides for controlled rotation of the LED tube relative to the end caps. Methods of installing the LED light tubes in new installations and retrofit installations and for use in sign assemblies are also described.

Abstract: Optical systems for performing gaze tracking and imaging an external scene are disclosed. An example optical system may include light sources for emitting visible and non-visible light. The optical system may include a waveguide that is operatively coupled to the light sources. A volume holographic light coupling element may be disposed between the surfaces of the waveguide. The volume holographic light coupling element may include a grating medium and a first volume holographic grating structure within the grating medium. In some examples, the first volume holographic grating structure may be configured to reflect non-visible light of a first wavelength about a first reflective axis offset from a surface normal of the grating medium at a first incidence angle. The optical system may also include an optical filter. Another example optical system may include an imaging device that is configured to receive the light external to the optical system.

Abstract: Vehicle exhaust system uses delta pressure based estimation of accumulated soot within a diesel particulate filter. The exhaust system has a diesel oxidation catalyst and a diesel particulate filter. A fuel injector is connected upstream from the diesel oxidation catalyst and the diesel particulate filter. A delta pressure sensor measures difference in pressure at inlet and outlet of the diesel particulate filter. A controller determines when to regenerate the diesel particulate filter based on an estimated amount of soot. The controller, in a first regeneration mode, causes the fuel injector to inject fuel at a first rate into the exhaust stream, and to re-evaluate amount of soot accumulated within the diesel particulate filter under increased volumetric flow. The controller, in a second regeneration mode, causes the fuel injector to inject fuel at a second rate into the exhaust stream in order to combust soot trapped in the diesel particulate filter.
