Patent number: 11938630Abstract: An edible soft robot system may be used to display and/or interact with edible inflatable objects. In an embodiment, the edible inflatable object is configured to receive a fluid in an internal compartment. The edible inflatable object may be reversibly coupled to a container, wherein coupling the edible inflatable object to the container comprises aligning a port of the edible inflatable object to a fluid conduit to fluidically couple the internal compartment to the fluid conduit. A control system of the edible soft robot system is configured to receive instructions to adjust inflation of the internal compartment by activating fluid flow into or out of the internal compartment via the fluid conduit, wherein adjusting inflation of the internal compartment causes the edible inflatable object to actuate on or within the container.Type: GrantFiled: August 17, 2020Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: Universal City Studios LLCInventors: Akiva Meir Krauthamer, Kimberly Anne Humphreys, Aaron Chandler Jeromin, Elam Kevin Hertzler, Timothy Fitzgerald Garnier

Patent number: 11937666Abstract: A lace adjuster for selectively adjusting and securing a shoelace of a shoe, the shoelace including a first lace end and a second lace end, includes an adjuster body, and a lace end retainer. The lace end retainer is coupled to the adjuster body. The lace end retainer is configured to receive and retain the first lace end and/or the second lace end between the lace end retainer and a surface of the adjuster body. The first lace end and/or the second lace end of the shoelace is thus inhibited from being moved relative to the lace end retainer and the adjuster body when retained by the lace end retainer by a force generated by a contact pressure of the lace end retainer against the surface of the adjuster body. The lace end retainer can be formed from a resilient material.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 2021Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: LACECLIP LLCInventor: Jonathan Nussbaum

Patent number: 11942893Abstract: Split-cell and multi-panel photovoltaic backtracking control systems and methods allow for increased total power generation during low sun elevation conditions by shading a percentage of panel modules, thereby allowing for a lower angle of incidence on unshaded modules. The control systems and methods involve determining a sun elevation angle, a traditional backtracking angle, a split-cell or multi-panel backtracking angle, a single-cell or single-panel relative light transmission (RLT) based on the single-cell or single-panel backtracking angle, and a split-cell or multi-panel RLT based on the split-cell or multi-panel backtracking angle. If twice the single-cell or single-panel RLT is greater than the split-cell or multi-panel RLT, the split-cell or multi-panel backtracking angle is used; otherwise, the single-cell or single-panel backtracking angle is used.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2020Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: NEXTRACKER LLCInventors: Fei Gu, Yang Liu, Venkata Rahul Abbaraju, Eric Martinez

Patent number: 11943190Abstract: Disclosed in some examples are methods, systems, devices, and machine-readable mediums which provide for sidebar communication threads forked from, or related to, a principal thread. Messages in the sidebar communication thread may include a history of the principal thread, including one or more messages from the principal thread, and may include a proposed principal thread message that is the subject of the sidebar thread discussion. The sidebar thread may also include sidebar thread messages that carries the conversation of the sidebar thread participants. Once a termination condition is reached for the sidebar thread, the sidebar thread terminates and either the proposed principal thread message (as potentially modified by participants of the sidebar thread) becomes an accepted principal thread message and it is posted to the principal thread as if it was sent by the sidebar initiator or no message is posted (e.g., the proposed principal thread message is rejected).Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 2022Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Amer Aref Hassan, Wei-Chen Chen

Patent number: 11940878Abstract: Methods and systems for restoring data are described. According to some embodiments, the method, in response to receiving a first restore request, initiates a second restore request to a hybrid data buffer to route blocks of backup data to the hybrid data buffer. The method further invokes an interrupt service routine (ISR) that is initialized with reserved addresses. When the blocks of backup data are transmitted to the hybrid data buffer, the method further tags, by the ISR, the blocks of backup data to a specified location, where the specified location is one of the reserved addresses.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 2020Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: EMC IP HOLDING COMPANY LLCInventors: Mahesh Reddy A V, Chetan Battal, Mahantesh Ambaljeri, Swaroop Shankar DH

Patent number: 11941102Abstract: In illustrative implementations, shape is used to encode computer passwords or other information. The passwords may be easy for a human to remember—and yet have an extremely high number of permutations (e.g., in some cases, greater than 1030 permutations, or greater than 10261 permutations, or greater than 106264 permutations). This combination of a password being easy for a human to remember—yet having a large number of permutations—offers many practical benefits. Among other things, the huge number of permutations makes the password extremely resistant to guessing attacks. In addition, in some cases, the passwords that are created with the shapes are highly resistant to attacks by keystroke logging, mouse logging, touch-gesture logging, screen logging, shoulder surfing, phishing, and social engineering. Alternatively, the shapes may be used to encode other information, such as information that uniquely identifies a product or a machine part.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 2021Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: Shape Matrix Geometric Instruments, LLCInventor: Jonathan Cramer

Patent number: 11940864Abstract: A multiphase power supply including a controller and phases can respond to a drop in load level by reducing all but one active phase to reduce power consumption. If the load level drops further, further reduction of the power consumption could be achieved by reducing, changing, or disabling the functions of some circuits within the active phase during these conditions. Estimating these conditions, however, may be difficult for a controller when the communication between the controller and the phase is limited. The disclosure describes an active phase that estimates a state of the load based on a sensed output current and a pulse width modulation control signal. The active phase may change its operating mode to match the estimated state of the load so that lighter load conditions consume less power. Furthermore, the idle phase(s) may nearly turn off all function except PWM detection to save power. Because this mode change is local to the phase, no additional communication with the controller is required.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 2021Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: SEMICONDUCTOR COMPONENTS INDUSTRIES, LLCInventor: Han Zou
