Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus, system, and method for monitoring a position of a control rod disposed in a nuclear reactor vessel in a radioactive environment. A data processing unit located outside a containment structure includes a processor and a memory storing executable instructions. A nuclear reactor vessel includes a plurality of control rods proximate to the control rod and a coil stack of a plurality of control rod position indicator coils. A data cabinet mounted on the nuclear reactor vessel head inside the containment structure includes an analog multiplexer and a communication circuit. The processor executes the instructions to select a control rod position indicator coil through the analog multiplexer, pass a signal from the control rod position indicator coil through the analog multiplexer, receive the signal from the analog multiplexer through the communication circuit, and determine a position of the control rod based on the received signal.
Abstract: Alignment tools and methods are provided for assembling a planetary gear sets. The alignment tools include a handle, and an elongated pin having a tip configured to be inserted through a mounting hole of a housing of the planetary gear set, through a first hole in a first washer, through a bore of a pinion gear between pinion needle rollers arranged in a tubular pattern within the bore, and through a second hole of a second washer. The elongated pin is configured to align the first washer, the pinion gear, the pinion needle rollers, and the second washer during insertion therethrough. The elongated pin is retractable relative to the handle in response to a force being applied to the tip in a first direction along a longitudinal axis of the elongated pin.

Abstract: Methods and systems for providing audio to a user include retrieving aural attributes of the user and analyzing the aural attributes to detect any aural imbalance between two ears of the user. An audio generated by an interactive application is dynamically calibrated, in accordance to aural imbalance detected between the two ears of the user, to generate a calibrated audio. The audio of the interactive application is forwarded to a first side of a headphone directed toward a first ear of the user and the calibrated audio to second side of the headphone directed toward a second ear. The different audio provided via different sides of the headphone compensate for the aural imbalance detected in the user.
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of a coaching service with variable content objects. The method can include invoking a content flow including an ordered sequence of content objects. The content flow is arranged in accordance with a coaching protocol for a user of a user device. The user accesses a coaching service through the user device. The method further includes causing the user device to present a first content object. The first content object is prearranged in the ordered sequence of content objects based on information associated with the user. The method further includes dynamically selecting a second content object to replace a next content object of the ordered sequence of content objects and advancing the content flow to the second content object in lieu of the next content object and in accordance with the coaching protocol.

Abstract: Synchronization of precision timing signals maintained by multiple communication networks is described. A precision timing signal may be generated based on the change in state of a plurality of processors. Synchronization of the precision timing signals may be facilitated by a computing device monitoring at least two communication networks. The computing device may generate time offsets that are derived from the precision timing signals associated with each communication network. The time offsets may be communicated by the computing devices to remote devices communicatively coupled to the computing device via a first communication network. The remote devices may adjust locally maintained application clocks based on the time offset. The adjustment may synchronize the local application clock with the precision timing signal of a second communication network. In response, a remote device may communicatively couple with the second communication network.

This 6xxx series aluminum alloy is capable of being produced with high amounts of post-consumer recycled material which significantly reduces environmental impact from producing this material, while still meeting and in most cases exceeding material attribute requirements for general engineering applications.

Abstract: A method of forming a thin film of material on a surface of a substrate, the substrate comprising a semiconductor, comprises: depositing a thin film of metal on the surface of the substrate, wherein the deposition is performed in an ultra-high vacuum, and wherein the substrate is at a temperature of less than or equal to 260 K during the deposition. Cooling the substrate during deposition of the thin film of metal may allow for an atomically flat and very uniform thin film to be obtained. Also provided is a device obtainable by the method.
