Abstract: A prosthetic valve includes a tubular frame, a multi-leaflet valve, movable rods, and a flange. The frame includes a lattice, an inflow end portion, and an outflow end portion. The frame is movable between radially collapsed and expanded states. The lattice deflects as the frame moves between the radially collapsed and expanded states. The valve is disposed within and coupled to the frame and is configured to allow one-way blood flow therethrough. The rods are coupled to the lattice of the frame and are configured to facilitate movement of the frame between the radially collapsed and expanded states. The flange is coupled to and extends radially outwardly from the frame and includes deflectable petals. The petals include a first petal having a first length and a second petal having a second length, and the first length is different than the second length.
Abstract: The present application discloses an improved firearm design that features an ambidextrous slide stop, allowing for enhanced accessibility and functionality for both left-handed and right-handed shooters. This design provides advantages over the traditional 1911 pistol, addressing challenges faced by left-handed shooters and streamlining reloads and malfunction clearance. The application incorporates a male-female interlocking mechanism for the slide stop portions, allowing for secure and removable coupling. Additionally, a thumb pad is included for easy engagement of the slide lock. Overall, this innovation offers improved ergonomics and versatility for shooters of different handedness.
Abstract: This application is directed to matching edges of polygons representing neighboring regions in a map user application. A computer system obtains a first polygon and a second polygon, and the second polygon is connected to the first polygon via polygon edges that are at least partially mismatched. Automatically and without user intervention, the computer system combines the first polygon and the second polygon to form a joined polygon defined by an outline of the first polygon and the second polygon. A region defined by the second polygon is subtracted from a region defined by the joined polygon to form a new region. The computer system defines an updated first polygon as an outline of the new region and renders, on a screen, the updated first polygon and the second polygon with matching edges.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided to process a digital photo and other media. An apparatus to process digital photos can include a tangibly embodied computer processor (CP) and a tangibly embodied database. The CP can perform processing including: (a) inputting a photo from a user device, and the photo including geographic data that represents a photo location at which the photo was generated; (b) comparing at least one area with the photo location and associating an area identifier to the photo as part of photo data; and (c) performing processing based on the area identifier and the photo data.

Abstract: Computer systems and computer-implemented methods modify a machine learning network, such as a deep neural network, to introduce judgment to the network. A “combining” node is added to the network, to thereby generate a modified network, where activation of the combining node is based, at least in part, on output from a subject node of the network. The computer system then trains the modified network by, for each training data item in a set of training data, performing forward and back propagation computations through the modified network, where the backward propagation computation through the modified network comprises computing estimated partial derivatives of an error function of an objective for the network, except that the combining node selectively blocks back-propagation of estimated partial derivatives to the subject node, even though activation of the combining node is based on the activation of the subject node.
Abstract: Systems, methods, and vehicles for taking a vehicle out-of-service are provided. In one example embodiment, a method includes obtaining, by one or more computing devices on-board an autonomous vehicle, data indicative of one or more parameters associated with the autonomous vehicle. The autonomous vehicle is configured to provide a vehicle service to one or more users of the vehicle service. The method includes determining, by the computing devices, an existence of a fault associated with the autonomous vehicle based at least in part on the one or more parameters associated with the autonomous vehicle. The method includes determining, by the computing devices, one or more actions to be performed by the autonomous vehicle based at least in part on the existence of the fault. The method includes performing, by the computing devices, one or more of the actions to take the autonomous vehicle out-of-service based at least in part on the fault.

Abstract: The disclosure provides a system, for designing and developing immersion cooling in data centers. The system includes multiple aisles that perform different functions. One of the aisles includes space for housing immersion tanks in which components of the data center may be positioned to be cooled. A second aisle allows the immersion tanks to be placed in the other aisle and for backside access. A third aisle transfers vapor from the aisle housing the immersion tanks to a vapor return unit to condense the vapor. A distribution unit distributes the coolant to cool the components of the data center is designed at the second aisle. The aisles and other units can be modularized to allow for deployment to meet different types of data center requirements.
Abstract: A device, kit, and method for producing medically-deliverable intravenous solution may include supplying a water to a housing, pumping the water through the housing while purifying the water, metering concentrated intravenous solution into the water to create a medically-deliverable intravenous solution, and dispensing the medically-deliverable intravenous solution, such as immediate intravenous infusion to a patient.
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for detecting whether an object is approaching an autonomous vehicle when a passenger is about to exit the autonomous vehicle, determining a speed and type of the object that is approaching the autonomous vehicle, determining whether the object will enter an exit zone when the passenger enters the exit zone based on the speed and the type of the object that is approaching the autonomous vehicle, and preventing the passenger from exiting the autonomous vehicle based on the determining of whether the object will enter the exit zone when the passenger enters the exit zone.
Abstract: Several embodiments of a drive pin retention system for mining chains comprise a drive pin, dowel pin, and retainer, wherein the dowel pin is fitted through the holes of a retainer aligned with the holes of the dowel pin and pressed with force so that the tolerance between the dowel pin and retainer is very close. In one embodiment, the retainer is tack welded and then the dowel pin is tack welded to further increase the tolerance and prevent loosening or movement of the retainer due to vibration.
