Abstract: A hybridized lithium-ion battery that includes one or more positive electrode assemblies is provided. Each of the one or more positive electrode assemblies includes a positive electrode current collector and one or more positive electroactive material layers disposed on one or more surfaces of the positive electrode current collector. The hybridized lithium-ion battery also includes two or more negative electrode current collectors, and one or more negative electroactive material layers disposed on one or more surfaces of at least one of the two or more negative electrode current collectors, where a total number of the one or more positive electroactive material layers is greater than a total number of negative electroactive material layers. The hybridized lithium-ion battery also includes two or more separating layers physically separating the positive electrode assemblies and the negative electroactive material layers or the positive electrode assemblies and the negative electrode current collectors.

Abstract: This disclosure includes methods for preparing a non-polar-polar diblock copolymer. The method includes polymerizing one or more olefin monomers in the presence of an alkyl aluminum chain transfer agent to produce a polymeryl aluminum species, which is then heated to produce a vinyl-terminated polyolefin. A thiol compound is reacted with the vinyl terminated polyolefin to form a sulfide containing polyolefin intermediate. The thiol compound comprises a terminal hydroxyl or a protected terminal amine. A macroinitiator is produced by reacting the sulfide containing polyolefin intermediate with a linker, wherein the linker comprises an acyl halide and a halogen atom bonded to the alpha carbon to the acyl halide. Reacting the macroinitiator, a radical reagent, and CH2?CH—(X) monomers via reversible-deactivation radical polymerization reaction produces the non-polar-polar diblock copolymer, where X is —C(O)OR, —CN, or —C(O)NHR, wherein R is chosen from —H, linear (C1-C18)alkyl, or branched (C1-C18)alkyl.

Abstract: Systems and methods for measuring air restriction in a vehicle are provided. In some aspects, a method includes providing an electrically operable, air restriction device configured to measure an air restriction in at least a portion of a vehicle's air system, and operating the electrically operable, air restriction device using power provided by a power system on the vehicle. The method also includes controlling power to the electrically operable, air restriction device using a hood switch that is connected to the power system.

Abstract: This document relates to memory access profiling. One example relates to a method or technique that can include obtaining samples collected when executing an application, the samples comprising sampled register values that were present in one or more registers of a processor when the samples were collected. The method or technique can also include identifying sampled instructions of the application that were executing when the samples were collected and other instructions of the application. The method or technique can also include evaluating the sampled instructions and one or more of the other instructions using the sampled register values to identify memory accesses by the application. The method or technique can also include outputting the identified memory accesses.

Abstract: A data processing system is implemented for receiving speech data for a plurality of languages, and determining letters from the speech data. The data processing system also implements normalizing the speech data by applying linguistic based rules for Latin-based languages on the determined letters, building a computer model using the normalized speech data, fine-tuning the computer model using additional speech data, and recognizing words in a target language using the fine-tuned computer model.

Abstract: Traditional messaging applications (such as email, social networking platforms, text, instant messaging, chat, etc.) are ill-equipped for collaboration. For instance, a sender and recipients corresponding regarding a topic are often required to exchange multiple messages. As a result, determining a consensus regarding the topic or summarizing the collaboration is difficult and cumbersome. Moreover, when links are included in messages, recipients are required to navigate away from the messaging application to view the linked content. A messaging application is provided that may be configured to enable users to dynamically collaborate regarding links or data within a sent message or a receive message. In aspects, a collaborative user experience (UX) is provided, which may be an interface within a message that enables real-time collaboration between a sender and one or more recipients regarding message content —without exchanging additional messages or navigating away from the messaging application.

Then, based at least in part on the one or more communication-performance metrics, the access point may determine a proposed channel and/or a proposed channel width for use by the access point during communication in a shared band of frequencies. Moreover, the access point may provide, addressed to the other access points, second information specifying the proposed channel and/or the proposed channel width. Next, the access point may receive, associated with the other access points, feedback about the proposed channel and/or the proposed channel width. Furthermore, based at least in part on the feedback, the access point may select a channel and/or a channel width for use by the access point during communication in the shared band of frequencies.

Abstract: Systems and methods of making a cast steel alloy crankshaft for an internal combustion engine are provided. The method comprises providing a mold of the crankshaft. The mold has cavities to form the crankshaft. The method further comprises melting a first metallic material at between 1400 degrees Celsius (° C.) and 1600° C. to define a molten metallic material. In addition, the method further comprises feeding the molten metallic material at a riser connection angle of between 30° and 75° in the cavities of the negative sand cast mold. The method further comprises cooling the molten metallic material at a solidification time of between 5 seconds (sec) and 20 sec in the negative sand cast mold with at least one chill member to define a solidified metallic material having dimensions of the cast steel alloy crankshaft. Furthermore, the method comprises separating the solidified metallic material from the negative sand cast mold to define the cast steel alloy crankshaft.

Automated detection and disinfection of a vehicle includes autonomously scanning various parts of the autonomous vehicle for microbes, selecting a disinfectant based on detected microbes, and autonomously disinfecting at least a portion of the autonomous vehicle.

Abstract: Disclosed is a clip for managing laundry items, the clip having front and rear arms flexibly joined by an elbow and shaped to form an internal loop. The front arm terminates in a dogleg shaped to minimize catching on fabric, and the rear arm terminates in a tongue shaped to ease the clip onto fabric. The dogleg and tongue angle away from an opening to accommodate fabric and guide it into a gap between the arms. The elbow flexibly holds the arms apart to form the gap, which can expand to accept the fabric and hold it in place. The arms also include teeth to improve friction between the fabric and the clip. Also disclosed is method of using a system of laundry clips to improve laundry results, including folding a laundry item lengthwise and attaching a plurality of laundry clips on the item to hold loose sides in place.

Abstract: A personal electronic device is provided with a feature of intelligently adjusting a sampling rate of sensors, such as barometers. Before acquiring a measurement from the sensor, the device checks other hardware for conditions that could introduce noise into the measurement. If the device does not determine that excessive noise is likely after checking the other hardware, the device proceeds to acquire the measurement from the sensor. Otherwise, the device delays the measurement. At the end of the delay, the device may check the other hardware again before acquiring the measurement from the sensor.

Abstract: A data processing system implements obtaining attention matrices from a first machine learning model that is pretrained and includes a plurality of self-attention layers. The data processing system further implements analyzing the attention matrices to generate a computation graph based on the attention matrices. The computation graph provides a representation of behavior of the first machine learning model across the plurality of self-attention layers. The data processing system is further implements analyzing the computation graph using a second machine learning model. The second machine learning model is trained to receive the computation graph to output model behavior information. The model behavior information identifying which layers of model performed specific tasks associated with generating predictions by the first machine learning model.

The power control circuit is configured to apply a pulse width modulated power signal to the heater element through the wire, and to receive information over the wire. Abstract: Electronic circuits and methods sense an electromagnetic property of a target, and transmit data packets that encode the property along with diagnostic messages while avoiding data loss due to truncation at high sensing speeds. Data address bits may be used to split messages across multiple data packets. Data bits may be combined into a unified header that takes less time to transmit than in prior communication protocols. The transmission duration of each data bit may be lowered, thereby increasing throughput. The receiving system may synchronize its own operation against these shortened data bits, increasing its speed. Error packets may be sent between data packets, thereby reducing time to respond to faults in safety-critical systems. And additional current levels may be used to increase the data information rate.
