Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing network experience shifting, and, in particular embodiments, using either a roaming or portable hypervisor associated with a user or a local hypervisor unassociated with the user. In some embodiments, a network node in a first network might receive, via a first network access device in a second network, a request from a user device to establish roaming network access, and might authenticate a user associated with the user device, the user being unassociated with the first network access device. Based on a determination that the user is authorized to access data, content, profiles, and/or software applications that are accessible via a second network access device, the network node might establish a secure private connection through a hypervisor or container communicatively coupled to the first network access device to provide the user with access to her data, content, profiles, and/or software applications.

Abstract: A database system is operable to execute a request to generate a decision tree model. A training set of rows are determined based on accessing a plurality of rows of a relational database table of a relational database. First query data is generated for execution based on the training set of rows. First query output is generated based on executing the first query data. A first portion of the decision tree model data is built based on the first query output. Additional query data is generated for execution based on the first query output. Additional query output is generated based on executing the additional query data. An additional portion of the decision tree model data is built based on the additional query output. Model output for the decision tree model is generated via processing input data in conjunction with processing the decision tree model data.

Abstract: A family of connectors to accommodate a single twisted pair of conductors is disclosed herein. The family of connectors includes a free connector, a fixed connector, and an adapter; the free and/or fixed connectors can be modified to accommodate the adapter configuration and/or modified to accommodate various patch cord configurations. In certain embodiments, the one or more of the family of connectors adopts an LC fiber optic style connector configuration and an LC fiber optic footprint configuration. In certain examples, one or more of the family of connectors adopts an LC fiber optic style connector configuration but in a footprint that is larger or smaller than the footprint of the LC fiber optic footprint. Other configurations may also be adopted.

Abstract: A nicotine tablet that includes a solid solution of soluble fiber and one or more sugar alcohols, the solid solution having a glass transition temperature of less than 40° C., and nicotine or a derivative thereof dispersed in the solid solution such that the nicotine or derivative thereof is released from the tablet when the tablet is chewed or dissolved within an oral cavity.

Abstract: A method, computer program, and computer system is provided for coding video data. Video data is received, and a set of hybrid transform kernels corresponding to the video data is identified. A subset of hybrid transform kernels is selected, either explicitly or implicitly, from among the set of hybrid transform kernels. The video data is decoded based on the selected subset of hybrid transform kernels.

Abstract: This specification discusses the concept of energy injection in a resonant circuit with initial conditions which is part of almost all of the present topologies. It presents in detail several methods of energy injection in a resonant circuit with initial conditions and how it applies to different topologies. It patent presents also a simple and economical method of driving the clamp switch in a flyback topology operating in discontinuous mode and a bias circuit in a flyback topology wherein the output voltage varies over a large range.

Abstract: The memory device that includes a die with a CMOS wafer with programming and erasing circuitry. The die also includes a plurality of array wafers coupled with and in electrical communication with the CMOS wafer and having different programming and erasing efficiencies. Each of the array wafers includes memory blocks with memory cells. The control circuitry of the CMOS wafer is configured to output at least one of different initial programming voltages and unique erase voltages to the plurality of array wafers.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to apparatuses for plant harvesting. More specifically, apparatuses for harvesting vertically grown fruit (620), plants, or vegetables are described herein. In one embodiment a harvesting system includes a grow line (100, 102) and one or more grow towers (150) coupled to and moveable along the grow line (100, 102). A plurality of platforms (306) are disposed adjacent to the grow towers (150) and include one or more robots (302) disposed on the platforms (306).

Abstract: Door assemblies for insulated boxcars and refrigerated boxcars are disclosed. In some embodiments, the door assemblies include a generally planar base, a liner spaced from the rear surface of the base. The liner includes a central portion and a perimeter portion surrounding the central portion. The door assemblies additionally include a perimeter gasket attached to the perimeter portion and surrounding the central portion. The door assemblies further include first and second end wall members. The base, the liner, and the first and second end wall members define an interior compartment therebetween. The door assemblies additionally include insulation disposed within the interior compartment, wherein the first and second end wall members are shaped such that insulation is disposed within one or more planes that are perpendicular to the base and to the perimeter portion of the liner and that include a portion of the perimeter gasket.

Abstract: The memory device includes a memory block with a plurality of memory cells, which are programmed to multiple bits per memory cell, arranged in a plurality of word lines. Control circuitry is provided and is configured to read the memory cells of a selected word line. The control circuitry separates the memory cells of the selected word line into a first group of memory cells, which are located on a side of the word line are near a voltage driver, and a second group of memory cells, which are located on an opposite side of the word line from the voltage driver. The control circuitry reads the memory cells of the first group using a first read mode and reads the memory cells of the second group using a second read mode that is different than the first read mode to reduce a fail bit count during read.

Abstract: A method of providing fire protection and vapor transmission resistance to a polyurethane foam insulation material, by: spraying an open cell polyurethane foam insulation onto a building structure; applying an intumescent paint onto the open cell polyurethane foam insulation; and then applying a vapor retarder paint over the intumescent paint. The vapor retarder paint may be a latex or styrene-butadiene rubber based paint, and the intumescent paint may be made of a water based acrylic or vinyl acetate copolymer and may have chemical additives that react to heat by swelling to generate a heat-insulating char layer that slows or prevents flame propagation.

Abstract: An automotive control system includes a controller for use with an inverter configured to drive a traction motor with electrical energy from a traction battery. The controller is programmed to select a base switching frequency for a control signal for the inverter such that a switching noise sideband frequency of the inverter is the same as a harmonic frequency of the traction motor, modify the selected base switching frequency by a random switching frequency to obtain a modified switching frequency, and control the inverter with the control signal having the modified switching frequency for the inverter to drive the traction motor.

Abstract: A data processing system implements a dynamic knowledge distillation process including dividing training data into a plurality of batches of samples and distilling a student model from a teacher model using an iterative knowledge distillation. The process includes instantiating an instance of the teacher model and the student model in a memory of the data processing system and obtaining a respective batch of training data from the plurality of batches of samples in the memory. The process includes training the teacher and student models using each of the samples in the respective batch of the training data, evaluating the performance of the student model compared with the performance of the teacher model, and providing feedback to student model to adjust the behavior of the student model based on the performance of the student model.

Abstract: An electrical system for a vehicle includes a main battery system configured to provide power for starting/cranking an engine of the vehicle, an auxiliary battery system configured to provide power for powering a set of accessory loads of the vehicle during starting/cranking of the engine, and a solid-state device disposed therebetween and including a solid-state switch configured to close/open to connect/disconnect the main and auxiliary battery systems to/from each other and intelligence circuity configured to monitor voltages in the main and auxiliary battery systems or current flowing therethrough and, based on the monitoring, commanding the solid-state switch to open to isolate the other of the main and auxiliary battery systems, wherein the isolated one of the main and auxiliary battery systems is configured to provide a degraded but operational operation of an L2+ autonomous driving feature of the vehicle.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer readable media related to: training an encoder model that can be utilized to determine semantic similarity of a natural language textual string to each of one or more additional natural language textual strings (directly and/or indirectly); and/or using a trained encoder model to determine one or more responsive actions to perform in response to a natural language query. The encoder model is a machine learning model, such as a neural network model. In some implementations of training the encoder model, the encoder model is trained as part of a larger network architecture trained based on one or more tasks that are distinct from a “semantic textual similarity” task for which the encoder model can be used.

Abstract: A window unit is designed to prevent or reduce bird collisions therewith. The window unit may include first and second substrates (e.g., glass substrates) spaced apart from one another, wherein at least one of the substrates supports an ultraviolet (UV) reflecting coating for reflecting UV radiation so that birds are capable of more easily seeing the window. The UV reflecting coating is preferably patterned so that it is not provided across the entirety of the window unit. By making the window more visible to birds, bird collisions and bird deaths can be reduced. The UV reflecting coating is designed to have high UV reflectance across a large range of viewing angles.

Abstract: A lighting relay panel may include lower-cost features or components related to improved safety and reliability. In some cases, the relay panel includes a power supply capable of protecting the panel from high-voltage and high-current transients. A microcontroller may determine a power interruption based on a zero-cross signal received from the power supply, and may also configure latching relays during the interruption. In some implementations, the relay panel includes a relay sense circuit that is capable of receiving actuation signals from multiple relays connected to different phases of a power signal, and the microcontroller may synchronize or repeat the actuations based on a signal from the relay sense circuit. The microcontroller may generate relay addresses based on the relay positions within the relay panel. In some cases, the relay panel may include isolation circuits that are capable of providing an isolated control signal having an improved voltage range.

Abstract: A method for providing imagery to a user on a display includes receiving eye tracking data, and defining a first tile using the eye tracking data. The first tile has dimensions determined using the eye tracking data. The method also includes defining multiple additional tiles to fill a surrounding area of the display. The method also includes providing a portion of an image using the first tile at a first image quality and providing another portion of the image at a second image quality using at least one of the multiple additional tiles.
