Abstract: A “Content Optimizer” applies a machine-learned relevancy model to predict levels of interest for segments of arbitrary content. Arbitrary content includes, but is not limited to, any combination of documents including text, charts, images, speech, etc. Various automated reports and suggestions for “reformatting” segments to modify the predicted levels of interest may then be presented. Similarly, the Content Optimizer applies a machine-learned comprehension model to predict what a human audience is likely to understand (e.g., a “comprehension prediction”) from the arbitrary content. Abstract: An improved roller shade system provides increased support, additional adjustments and/or increased safety. The slip plate allows the brake to slip forward and minimize damage to the clutch spring when a user pulls too hard on the hembar. The center drive mechanism extends through a bracket to allow the drive shaft to distribute power in both directions and drive two shade tube simultaneously. The tube adapter absorbs force from the spinning shade tube to minimize damage to the other components and the bead chain. The sprocket has a back wall supporting the sprocket, allowing the sprocket 130 to rest on the back flange of the sun gear to minimize pressure on the gears. An adjustment arm is adjusted to help level the shade band. The shade bands may be removed without disturbing the other shade bands in the system. A height of a hembar may be adjusted by rotating a rod within the hembar.

Abstract: Subsequent to registration of a client device with a server device such that credentials by which the client device is authenticated are securely stored at the client device, the client device provides a user device and a server device a recovery identifier and a recovery secret key associated with the client device. Upon the credentials no longer being stored at the client device such that the client device has to be reregistered with the server device to store new credentials by which the client device is authenticated, the user device generates and provides a recovery code to the client device, which provides the recovery code to the server device. Upon validating the recovery code based on the recovery identifier and the recovery secret key, the server device reregisters the client device with the server device such that the new credentials are securely stored at the client device.

Abstract: A head-mounted display device includes a first reflective polarizer having a first optical surface and a second optical surface that is opposite to the first optical surface. The first optical surface of the first reflective polarizer is curved, and the first reflective polarizer is configured to reflect light having a first polarization. The head-mounted display device also includes a first electronic display configured to project toward the first reflective polarizer a light pattern. At least a portion of the light pattern is reflected by the first reflective polarizer. Also disclosed is a method, which includes directing a light pattern from the first electronic display toward the first reflective polarizer and reflecting at least a portion of the light pattern toward an eye of a user.

According to example implementations of the present disclosure, a method is provided for managing a plurality of users of an application system. In the method, a group of users matching a search keyword from a requester user are determined among the plurality of users, the search keyword comprising at least one part of an identifier of a desired user. A requester layer of the requester user is determined in a tree structure comprising hierarchical relations among the plurality of users. A group of layers of the group of users are determined in the tree structure, respectively. The group of users are sorted based on the requester layer and the group of layers. With example implementations of the present disclosure, a user which the requester user is looking for may be sorted at a top place so as to be selected by the requester user.

A first segment of the set of segments is determined to be processed as a virtual segment. A locally rebuilt set of rows corresponding to the first segment is generated by utilizing a recovery scheme based on determining the first segment is to be processed as a virtual segment. Execution of the query is facilitated by utilizing the locally rebuilt set of rows.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are related to dynamically adjusting a wake time and a sleep time for wireless communication between two or more devices to reduce power consumption. In one aspect, a first device enters a wake up state to wirelessly communicate with a second device for a service period with a determined duration scheduled according to a target wake time (TWT) protocol. In one aspect, the first device monitors for one or more indicators from the second device indicating that additional data is available for communication. In one aspect, the first device extends the service period beyond the determined duration, in response to receiving a first indicator of the one or more indicators. In one aspect, the first device communicates with the second device the additional data during the service period extended beyond the determined duration.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are exemplary embodiments of methods, apparatus, and systems for performing content-adaptive deblocking to improve the visual quality of video images compressed using block-based motion-predictive video coding. For instance, in certain embodiments of the disclosed technology, edge information is obtained using global orientation energy edge detection (“OEED”) techniques on an initially deblocked image. OEED detection can provide a robust partition of local directional features (“LDFs”). For a local directional feature detected in the partition, a directional deblocking filter having an orientation corresponding to the orientation of the LDF can be used. The selected filter can have a filter orientation and activation thresholds that better preserve image details while reducing blocking artifacts. In certain embodiments, for a consecutive non-LDF region, extra smoothing can be imposed to suppress the visually severe blocking artifacts.

Abstract: Implementations are directed to utilizing an assistant to automatically navigate an interactive voice response (IVR) tree to arrive at a target state during an assisted telephone call. The assistant can receive input to initiate the assisted telephone call, identify an entity to engage with, on behalf of the user, and during the assisted telephone call, based on the input, and identify an IVR tree stored in association with the entity. In various implementations, navigation of the IVR tree can be modified based on interaction(s) detected at a client device subsequent to initiating the assisted telephone call. In various implementations, the assisted telephone call can be initiated from a search interface, and the target state can be associated with a given search result. In various implementations, the IVR tree can be dynamic in that only a subset of candidate state(s) of the IVR tree may be available as the target state.

Abstract: In one aspect, a composition for treating fibers comprises an acidic aqueous or aqueous-based continuous phase and a liquid repellent phase comprising a dendrimer component and/or non-dendrimer alkyl urethane.
