Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for monitoring and diagnosing power system assets. An example method may include triggering, by a gateway device and at a first time, a capture of a first waveform from a first intelligent electronic device (IED) associated with a first asset in a power system. The method may also include transmitting, by the gateway device, the capture of the waveform to a remote device. The method may also include extracting fault features from the first waveform corresponding to different failure modes associated with the asset of the power system. The method may also include determining, based on the features extracted from first waveform, that a fault of a first fault mode has occurred in the asset. The method may also include providing an alert that the fault has been identified, wherein the alert initiates or otherwise facilitates a control action in the power system.
Abstract: This document describes systems and techniques directed at expediting fingerprint authentication via variable refresh rate control and display luminance compensation. In aspects, a computing device having an under-display fingerprint sensor (UDFPS) and a touch-sensitive display includes a biometric authentication manager. Upon detecting at least one finger at or near the touch-sensitive display, the biometric authentication manager implements variable display refresh rates and selectively adjusts luminance settings for a high-luminance region of the touch-sensitive display for predetermined intervals. In so doing, at least one finger can be well-illuminated during UDFPS image capturing, facilitating UDFPS sensing and expediting fingerprint authentication.
Abstract: In some aspects, a methods and systems may combine asynchronous and synchronous messaging infrastructure such that a single system can send messages both asynchronously and synchronously when needed. A system may implement an asynchronous system that is able to determine whether a message should be sent asynchronously or synchronously. If a message is to be sent synchronously, the asynchronous system may emulate a synchronous system by holding a network connection open and/or removing a default callback uniform resource locator (URL) from a data structure used in sending the message.

Abstract: Systems and methods for adaptive power converters are provided. In one embodiment, an adaptive power converter comprises: a power converter controller; a switching power conversion circuit comprising an input switch, a low-pass filter, and a non-linear control feedback compensator, the input switch controlled using feedback control from the non-linear control feedback compensator, wherein the non-linear control feedback compensator controls the input switch to regulate an output from the power conversion circuit based on multiple regulation profiles; a measurement estimate and gain module; and a power converter state detection and correction function. The measurement estimate and gain module evaluates power converter state information from the power converter state detection and correction function.

Abstract: A method of operating a sequencing batch reactor process includes introducing wastewater to be treated into the sequencing batch reactor and subjecting the wastewater to treatment in the sequencing batch reactor in an aerated anoxic mode in in which a quantity of oxygen is supplied at a level insufficient to meet a biological oxygen demand of the wastewater, but sufficient to cause simultaneous nitrification and denitrification reactions to occur in the wastewater.
Abstract: A location based consumer interface for retail environments includes a plurality of data packet generators distributed around a retail store. The data packet generators include a wireless communication device and are configured to wirelessly transmit codes to mobile computing devices in the retail store. The codes are received by the mobile computing devices, and can be used to present promotional or other content to the consumer, such as content related to the consumer's current location within the store. The codes can also be used for other purposes, such as for use as part of a store rewards program. In some embodiments a vendor is charged a fee for presentation of the content to the consumer.
Abstract: Provided are techniques, devices and systems that enable updating of a reportable parameter table database when a reconfigured optical communication path is formed by switching performed by a branching unit in an undersea optical communication transmission system. A processor may obtain system attributes of each respective segment of a number of segments of the reconfigured optical communication path from a first end point to a second endpoint. The system attributes of each respective segment of the number of segments may be evaluated from the first end point to the second endpoint of the reconfigured optical communication path. A reportable parameter table may be generated based on the evaluated system attributes that includes a listing of operational and structural parameters of system from the first endpoint to the second endpoint of the reconfigured optical communication path.

Abstract: A load control device for controlling power delivered from an AC power source to an electrical load may comprise a thyristor, a gate current path, and a control circuit. The control circuit may be configured to control the gate current path to conduct a pulse of gate current through a gate terminal of the thyristor to render the thyristor conductive at a firing time during a half-cycle of the AC power source. The control circuit may operate in a first gate drive mode in which the control circuit renders the gate current path non-conductive after a pulse time period from the firing time. The control circuit may operate in a second gate drive mode in which the control circuit maintains the gate current path conductive after the pulse time period during the half-cycle.

Abstract: The disclosure is directed to modular devices and systems for providing variable strength mixtures of fluids. A fluid combining device allows for the relative volume of a first liquid to be varied with respect to a total volume of fluid being delivered to a user (such as a combination of two or more liquids), which in turn changes the fluid ratios.

Abstract: A system and method are used for transporting a plurality of tower sections of a wind turbine on beds of transport devices, such as flat railcars. Supports affix at support locations on beds to accommodate at least one of the tower sections on each of the transport devices. The supports can include bed supports, such as tabs, extending from the beds, and can include cradle supports with slots that engage on the tabs. A circumferential dimension of a cradle is adjusted on each of the supports against which the tower section rests. Each of the tower sections is then supported with at least two of the supports by loading the tower sections on the transport devices. An end of each of the tower sections is then affixed to a flange on at least one of the supports on each of the transport devices.

Abstract: A session management function (SMF) receives, from a wireless device, an indication that an always-on packet data unit (PDU) session is requested. The SMF determines to establish the PDU session as an always-on PDU session based on: the indication that the always-on PDU session is requested; and the PDU session being for an ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC) service. The SMF sends, to the wireless device, an indication that the PDU session is to be established as the always-on PDU session.

Appropriate parameters for the real world event are provided and participants in the real world event are associated to avatars. As the real world event begins, a server is configured to provide information on the real world event to the client device, and the client device displays a representation of a virtual event using the avatars and the information received from the server.
Abstract: A method of continuously compressing gas in a supersonic compressor. A gas compressor system is provided. The gas compressor may include a two rotor low pressure stage and a two rotor high pressure stage. The two rotor low pressure stage and the two rotor high pressure stage each have a first rotor with subsonic blades and a second rotor with supersonic compression passageways. The supersonic passageways each include a helically adjustable centerbody and boundary layer bleed passageways. The compressor continuously compresses inlet gas to provide a first compressed gas stream. That stream is cooled, then fed to the low pressure inlet of the high pressure stage, and compressed to provide a second compressed gas stream. For part load operation, the rotating speeds are higher than the nominal design rotating speed for full mass flow operation.

An exemplary combination is DPU together with a developer known commercially as TGMD.
Abstract: A flexible flap coupled to the bottom of a cleaning tool is designed to have a distal end that contacts the floor and scrapes along the floor as the cleaning tool is moved across the floor in order to help guide debris into a catch tray. The flexible flap also has a design such that the distal end can curl inwards after interaction with an obstacle (e.g., recess or protrusion of the floor surface) and continue to move across the floor picking up debris, even after the distal end of the flexible flap has been curled.
