Abstract: An integrated audio-visual system is disclosed for delivering an event to one or more spectators. The integrated audio-visual system includes one or more loudspeakers that are positioned behind one or more visual displays to be effectively behind the one or more visual displays to be shielded from the field of view of the one or more spectators. The one or more visual displays are specially designed and manufactured to allow sound associated with the event to propagate from the one or more loudspeakers with minimal acoustical distortion and/or minimum acoustical vibration while presenting a visual representation of the event to the one or more spectators. Moreover, the one or more loudspeakers and the one or more visual displays are situated to be a predetermined displacement from each other to further minimize acoustical distortion.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for multi-mode operation of a wireless-enabled device, including for extending the range of the wireless signal in a wireless network. In one embodiment, a multi-mode Consumer Premises Equipment (CPE) is provided utilizing “quasi-licensed” CBRS (Citizen Broadband Radio Service) wireless spectrum. In one variant, the apparatus and methods provide a solution to use a CPE in a Wi-Fi extender mode to extend Wi-Fi signal from a router. In another variant, a solution is provided to use a CPE in an LTE repeater mode to extend the LTE signal from an LTE eNB/gNB. In another embodiment, a CPE is used as a base station for a wireless network utilizing “quasi-licensed” CBRS (Citizen Broadband Radio Service) wireless spectrum.

Abstract: A transport climate control system is disclosed. The system includes a compressor, a motor-generator-rectifier machine, a belt drive connected to the motor-generator-rectifier machine and the compressor, at least one condenser fan, at least one evaporator fan, and a DC to DC converter. The motor-generator-rectifier machine connects to the at least one condenser fan, the at least one evaporator fan, and the DC to DC converter. The motor-generator-rectifier machine includes a motor, a low voltage generator connected to the motor, and a rectifier connected to the low voltage generator. The motor-generator-rectifier machine can provide a first low voltage DC power to the at least one condenser fan, the at least one evaporator fan, and the DC to DC converter. The DC to DC converter can convert the first low voltage DC power to a second low voltage DC power that is different from the first low voltage DC power.

Abstract: The disclosed technology is generally directed to embedded device updates. In one example of the technology, a request for a nonce from a device is received. The nonce is sent in response to the request. An authentication request that includes the nonce, a set of measurements associated with the device, and a cryptographic signature generated from a private key associated with the device is received. The device is validated based on the authentication request. In response to successful validation of the device, a short-term certificate is generated for the device.

Also provided by the invention are tissue cultures of the soybean variety 01091705 and the plants regenerated therefrom. Abstract: A system includes a photovoltaic module including at least one solar cell with electrical bussing, an encapsulant encapsulating the at least one solar cell and having a first surface with a first opening, and a frontsheet juxtaposed with the first surface of the encapsulant. The frontsheet includes a second opening extending from a first surface to a second surface thereof. The second opening of the frontsheet is in fluid communication with the first opening of the encapsulant. The electrical bussing is positioned in the first opening. An electrical wire is connected to the electrical bussing through the first and second openings. A cover is attached to the frontsheet and covers one end of the electrical wire and the first and second openings.

Abstract: An exemplary breath analysis system disposed in a portable housing may include a sampling chamber having a molecule collector disposed therein. The molecule collector may be configured such that volatile organic compounds (VOCs) present in a breath sample introduced to the sampling chamber adhere to the molecule collector. A heating element may introduce heat within the sampling chamber, causing release of at least a portion of the VOCs adhered to the molecule collector. An analysis device disposed in the portable housing (e.g., a mass spectrometer or Terahertz (THz) spectrometer) may identify one or more target VOCs from among at least the portion of the VOCs released from the molecule collector and generate an output representative of the identified one or more target VOCs. The output may include information that quantitates a concentration of the one or more target VOCs with respect to a source of the breath sample.

Abstract: An active layer of the index includes a first shard group, and shards in the first shard group are configured to store indexes of a part of data objects in a streaming storage system. In response to determining that the state of the first shard group meets a predetermined expansion condition, a second shard group is created in the index, and shards in the second shard group are configured to store indexes of data objects that will enter the storage system. The storage system is managed based on the shards in an active layer (where the second shard group is located) and frozen layers (where the second shard group) in the index. The number of shards in the storage system can be dynamically set to process streaming data at a relatively high speed, and it is suitable for processing streaming data that continuously enters the storage system.

Abstract: A dual interface transaction card includes a metal card body having first and second surfaces. A contact-only transaction module is secured in the card body, the contact-only transaction module including contact pads disposed on the first surface of the card body and including a first transaction circuit. A contactless transaction module is secured in a void in the metal card body. The contactless transaction module includes a second transaction circuit and an antenna. Also disclosed is a process for manufacturing the dual interface transaction card. The process includes the steps of constructing a metal card body having the first and second surfaces, securing the contact-only transaction module in the metal card body, forming the void in the metal card body, and securing the contactless transaction module in the void.

An example watermark encoder includes a counter to increment symbols of a watermark timestamp and a controller to control the counter to increment the symbols of the watermark timestamp based on a key, the controller to cause the counter to restrict ones of the symbol values to increment over one of a first range of symbol values or a second range of symbol values based on a value of the key, the second range of symbol values different from the first range of symbol values.

Abstract: This application describes methods, mediums, and systems for verifying a device for use in a messaging system. Using the device verification procedures described, a messaging system can securely authorize new devices to send and receive encrypted messages on behalf of a user, preferably without the need to share a private encryption key between the users' different devices. The application describes several techniques that can be used to provide such a system, including distributing a computer-perceptible code that encodes encryption information between a secondary device and a primary device. This allows the information to be distributed without intervention by a server. Other techniques provide unique ways to build and reverify authorized device lists, distribute encryption keys in chat channels, ensure that lists of authorized devices are distributed in the correct order and remain valid for an appropriate amount of time, add new devices to an ongoing or new conversation, and more.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for providing a messaging server within a premises device e.g., a home or enterprise gateway device. In one embodiment, a system is described that includes a premises device that acts as a centralized client messaging platform providing messaging services between a content provider and client devices, and also between client devices within a premises network. The premises device enables client-to-client communication that bypasses the long trip and propagation delay over the Internet by connecting the message across the premises network within the home or building.

Abstract: A remote speaker microphone (RSM) unit enables a user to use either a headset or an in-ear speaker with the RSM unit. The RSM unit includes a first RSM connection for communicating and connectable with the first connection of the headset; and a second RSM connection for communicating and connectable with the second connection of the in-ear speaker. Connecting either the headset or the in-ear speaker to the RSM unit disables the speaker and microphone of the RSM unit. At least one of the first and second connections are wireless, e.g., Bluetooth or NFC, and at least one of the first and second RSM connections are wireless connections communicable with the first and second connections, respectively. In addition or the alternative, at least one of said first connection and said second connection are electrical plugs and at least one of said first and second RSM connections are corresponding electrical jacks.

When the distance is less than the second distance, a second notification 660 may be displayed on the display. The second notification provides additional information not provided by the first notification.

Abstract: Embodiments for a data protection method of grouping assets for protection policy assignment based on asset metadata by defining a set of metrics characterizing each asset in the system and comparing each metric of an asset with corresponding metrics of other asset groups each containing one or more other assets. A unique protection policy is assigned to each group for application to each asset within a respective group. An overall affinity percentage of the metrics of asset with the corresponding metrics of each group is determined, and the asset is automatically grouped into the group based with the highest overall affinity percentage. The user is prompted to confirm the automatic grouping or to select a different group for assigning to the asset.
