  • Patent number: 11843814
Abstract: Signals of an immersive multimedia item are jointly considered for optimizing the quality of experience for the immersive multimedia item. During encoding, portions of available bitrate are allocated to the signals (e.g., a video signal and an audio signal) according to the overall contribution of those signals to the immersive experience for the immersive multimedia item. For example, in the spatial dimension, multimedia signals are processed to determine spatial regions of the immersive multimedia item to render using greater bitrate allocations, such as based on locations of audio content of interest, video content of interest, or both. In another example, in the temporal dimension, multimedia signals are processed in time intervals to adjust allocations of bitrate between the signals based on the relative importance of such signals during those time intervals. Other techniques for bitrate optimizations for immersive multimedia streaming are also described herein.

  • Patent number: 11839361
Abstract: A nervous tissue imaging system and a method therefor. The system includes: a housing containing an excitation light source, optically coupled with a source optical train, the excitation light source emits excitation light in a first wavelength range, which can be in a near ultraviolet light range, to illuminate a tissue region of interest including healthy nervous tissue and healthy non-nervous tissue. The excitation light in the first wavelength range causes the healthy nervous tissue, in response to being illuminated with the excitation light, to endogenously autoflouresce and emit first autofluorescence light at a first luminance in a second wavelength range. The healthy non-nervous tissue, in response to being illuminated with the excitation light, either avoids emitting any autofluorescence light in the second wavelength range; or endogenously autoflouresces and emits second autofluorescence light in the second wavelength range at a second luminance that is lower than the first luminance.

  • Patent number: 11839833
Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices for phytochemical extraction. One example extraction system includes two solvent columns, a material column, and a dewaxing column. The solvent columns store and provide solvent for stripping target chemicals from plant material in the material column. The solvent mixed with target chemicals passes into the dewaxing column, where the target chemicals are separated from waxes and lipids. Cooling is applied to elements of the system by way of an open-loop CO2 refrigeration method. Solvent is moved from the solvent columns to the material column by creating a pressure differential between the two solvent columns.

  • Patent number: 11841704
Abstract: To operate an autonomous vehicle, a rail agent is detected in a vicinity of the autonomous vehicle using a detection system. One or more tracks are determined on which the detected rail agent is possibly traveling, and possible paths for the rail agent are predicted based on the determined one or more tracks. One or more motion paths are determined for one or more probable paths from the possible paths, and a likelihood for each of the one or more probable paths is determined based on each motion plan. A path for the autonomous vehicle is then determined based on a most probable path associated with a highest likelihood for the rail agent, and the autonomous vehicle is operated using the determined path.
