    Abstract: Provided herein are systems and methods for extracting text from a document. Different optical character recognition (OCR) tools are used to extract different versions of the text in the document. Metrics evaluating the quality of the extracted text are compared to identify and select higher quality extracted text. A selected portion of text is compared to a threshold to ensure minimal quality. The selected portion of text is then saved. Error correction can be applied to the selected portion of text based on errors specific to the OCR tools or the document contents.

In a preferred embodiment the applied light is in the red range and more preferably about of 635 nm±10 nm. The applied light energy is applied with a pulse frequency or frequencies that mimic healthy brain function of alpha, beta, delta, and theta waves such as 8 Hz, 53 Hz, 73 Hz and 101 Hz. The pulse frequencies can be applied singularly, serially, alternately, or simultaneously.

Lower scores are indicative of traffic having little value, whereas higher scores are indicative of traffic having greater value. The score may be provided to an advertising network and used to charge a variable amount for advertisements based on the quality of traffic that the advertisements receive.
