Abstract: A computer implemented method for validating software is provided. The method includes generating a first check value, by a remote computing device, based on a unique value and software of the remote computing device, outputting the first check value and the unique value from the remote computing device to a secure data repository, obtaining, by a secure computing device, an authentic copy of the software of the remote computing device, obtaining, by the secure computing device, the unique value and the first check value from the secure data repository, computing, by the secure computing device, a second check value based on the authentic copy of the software for the remote computing device and the unique value, and determining, by the secure computing device, whether the remote computing device has authentic software based on a comparison of the obtained first check value and the second check value.

Abstract: A driver circuit, for generating narrow electrical pulses of high repetition rate with high peak current and low after pulse ringing to drive an optical load, may include a source, a first circuit path, and a second circuit path. The first circuit path may be connected to the source and may include inductive elements and a switch. The switch being in a closed state may charge current in the inductive elements through the first circuit path. The second circuit path may connect to the optical load and may be connected to the source. The second circuit path may include the inductive elements and a capacitive element in series with the optical load. The switch transitioning from the closed state to an open state may discharge current from the inductive elements through the second circuit path to provide an electrical pulse to the optical load.

Abstract: Examples are disclosed that relate to arranging electrical contacts on a hinge of a wearable device. One example provides a wearable device comprising a frame, a first temple piece, a second temple piece, a first hinge connecting the first temple piece to the frame, a second hinge connecting the second temple piece to the frame, and a first contact and a second contact arranged on one or more of the first hinge and the second hinge, the first contact and the second contact being configured to connect with external circuitry.

Abstract: Technologies relating to an autonomous vehicle are described. The autonomous vehicle is configured to determine that a person is attempting to hail the autonomous vehicle through use of a passenger identifier. The autonomous vehicle identifies a passenger account associated with the passenger identifier being presented by the person, and responsive to identifying the passenger account, determines whether the autonomous vehicle should pick up the person.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for generating an artifact corrected reconstructed contrast image from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data is provided. The method includes inputting into a trained deep neural network both a synthesized contrast image derived from multi-delay multi-echo (MDME) scan data or the MDME scan data acquired during a first scan of an object of interest utilizing a MDME sequence and a composite image, wherein the composite image is derived from both the MDME scan data and contrast scan data acquired during a second scan of the object of interest utilizing a contrast MRI sequence. The method also includes utilizing the trained deep neural network to generate the artifact corrected reconstructed contrast image based on both the synthesized contrast image or the MDME scan data and the composite image. The method further includes outputting from the trained deep neural network the artifact corrected reconstructed contrast image.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are embodiments providing query validation with automated query modification. In particular, the embodiments provide a computing system that receives a query and determines the query is sensitive. The computing system iteratively modifies the query until the query is not sensitive by modifying the query to increase a scope of the query, updating estimated query results based on the query as modified, and determining whether the query as modified is sensitive based on the estimated query results as updated. Upon determining that the query as modified is not sensitive, the computing system proceeds with the query as modified. Accordingly, the computing system improves query efficiency by automatically modifying a sensitive query.

Abstract: An outdoor power equipment unit includes independent suspension system having a frame, a first wheel assembly, a second wheel assembly, a first laterally-extending suspension arm pair, and a second laterally-extending suspension arm pair. The first wheel assembly includes a first wheel and a first side suspension arm. The first side suspension arm is pivotably coupled at a first end to a first side structural member and is fixedly coupled at a second opposite end to a joint of the first wheel assembly. The second wheel assembly is arranged similarly to the first wheel assembly. Abstract: Systems and methods for facilitating a transaction between a first entity and a second entity using a digital currency are described. In some aspects, a computing node participates in a private distributed ledger for a financial institution and stores one or more transaction blocks representing transactions in a digital currency. The digital currency is issued by the financial institution and is fixed with respect to a fiat currency. The computing node is configured to receive a transaction for transferring an amount of digital currency from a first entity to a second entity, generate a new transaction block representing the transaction, transmit the new transaction block to other computing nodes participating in the private distributed ledger, receive an indication of validity of the new transaction block, and insert the new transaction block into the private distributed ledger.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for video encoding/decoding. In some examples, an apparatus for video decoding includes processing circuitry. For example, the processing circuitry generates first reconstructed samples of a block, and applies a filter to multiple color components of the first reconstructed samples of the block to determine offsets to be applied to one or more color components. Then, the processing circuitry generates second reconstructed samples of the block based on the offsets for the one or more color components and the first reconstructed samples of the block.

Abstract: A system and method is provided for displaying surfaces of an object from a vantage point different from the vantage point from which imagery of the object was captured. In some aspects, imagery may be generated for display by combining visual characteristics from multiple source images and applying greater weight to the visual characteristics of some of the source images relative to the other source images. The weight may be based on the orientation of the surface relative to the location from which the image was captured and the location from which the object will be displayed.

Abstract: A method of forming a high voltage optical transformer includes forming a via through a transparent carrier wafer, forming a conductive layer within the via, bonding a solid state lighting (SSL) package to a first side of the carrier wafer, and bonding a photovoltaic (PV) wafer to a second side of the carrier wafer opposite to the first side. The photovoltaic wafer may include an active area and a conductive area located outside of the active area that is in electrical contact with the conductive layer. The method further includes forming both an SSL contact with the solid state lighting package and a PV contact with the conductive layer on the same side of the carrier wafer.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for replicating a remote venue in a local venue. An embodiment operates by receiving original audio. Thereafter, the original stream of audio is modified to produce modified audio based on an audio profile unique to a remote venue smaller than the local venue. The audio profile comprises a virtual representation of the remote venue including (i) a virtual audio source corresponding to the local venue's audio source and configured to produce the original audio and (ii) a virtual reverberation point corresponding to a real-world location in the remote venue and the portion of the local venue. As such, the modified audio is determined based on receipt of the original audio from the reverberation point. Thus, after correlating the modified audio to the local venue's audio source, the modified audio is provided by the audio source to the portion of the local venue.

Abstract: A graphite article formed of a creped graphite sheet is provided. The creped graphite sheet has a first major surface and a second major surface oppositely disposed to the first major surface and a plurality of macrofolds, each macrofold having a plurality of associated microfolds, wherein each microfold is smaller than the associated macrofold. The creped graphite article has improved flexibility as compared to a graphite sheet which has not been creped. The creped graphite sheet can be formed of a sheet of flexible natural graphite or a sheet of synthetic graphite.
