The device may also select a particular source that is associated with the requested speech output. The device may also generate speech having particular voice characteristics of a particular voice assigned to the particular source.

In one example, a method includes determining a set of DICOM query/retrieve capabilities of a DICOM application implemented on a DICOM device by performing a list of queries to the DICOM application, and populating a DICOM conformance statement with the determined set of DICOM query/retrieve capabilities.

Abstract: A method of managing bets includes receiving first types of bets and second types of bets. Each first type of bet comprises a bet that the number of units earned by a participant in a plurality of events will fall within a first range of numbers. Each second type of bet comprises a bet that the number of units earned by the participant over a course of a plurality of events will fall within a second range of numbers. The total number of units earned by the participant is determined based on the positioning of the participant in each event. The method includes determining whether the first or second type of bets are winning bets. A betting pool is determined based on the total amounts associated with the first and second types of bets. A payout is determined based on the betting pool and the total amounts of the winning bets.

In one example embodiment, a computer-implemented method includes receiving data indicative of a service request to provide a vehicle service for an entity with respect to one or more cargo items designated for autonomous transport. The method includes obtaining a first cargo item among the one or more cargo items, from a representative of the entity at a dedicated first transfer hub proximate to a first location associated with the first cargo item. The method includes controlling a first autonomous vehicle to transport the first cargo item from the first transfer hub to a dedicated second transfer hub proximate to a second location associated with the first cargo item. The method includes providing the first cargo item to a representative of the entity at the second transfer hub, to provide the vehicle service.

Abstract: The invention relates to environment management, particularly to methods for purifying a wastewater in order to eliminate a toxic impact of heavy and radioactive metals. A method for purifying fresh, combined and saline wastewater from radioactive and heavy metals using an electrolysis and a special active substance (sorbent), wherein the wastewater is fed to an electrolyzer with a chamber that is separated by a special membrane that is permeable for ions of metals separately of water, then changes of the pH occur in order to form complex compounds, which comprise ions of radioactive and heavy metals. Afterwards, the adsorption of the obtained 0 compounds by the special active substance (sorbent) and filtering-off on a precoat filter that retains ions of heavy and radioactive metals are performed. The obtained filtrate is cemented without drying and evaporation in order to perform final deposition of the radioactive 0 compounds.

Abstract: A molten fuel salt nuclear reactor core assembly including a fluid neutron reflecting material defining a fast spectrum fuel volume configured to breed fissile fuel from fertile fuel, a first inlet channel, and a first outlet channel through which cooled molten fuel salt can enter and heated molten fuel salt can exit the fast spectrum fuel volume. The core assembly also includes a set of neutron absorbing members sized to fit within the fast spectrum fuel volume. The set of neutron absorbing members define a thermal spectrum fuel volume for a fission reaction of the fissile fuel, a second inlet channel, and a second outlet channel through which cooled molten fuel salt can enter and heated molten fuel salt can exit the thermal spectrum fuel volume.

Abstract: Computer systems and computer-implemented methods modify a machine learning network, such as a deep neural network, to introduce judgment to the network. A “combining” node is added to the network, to thereby generate a modified network, where activation of the combining node is based, at least in part, on output from a subject node of the network. The computer system then trains the modified network by, for each training data item in a set of training data, performing forward and back propagation computations through the modified network, where the backward propagation computation through the modified network comprises computing estimated partial derivatives of an error function of an objective for the network, except that the combining node selectively blocks back-propagation of estimated partial derivatives to the subject node, even though activation of the combining node is based on the activation of the subject node.

Effectiveness of shielding along the signal paths through the mating electrical connectors may be enhanced through the use of one or more techniques, including enabling two-sided shielding, connections between shield members and between shield members and grounded structures of printed circuit boards to which the connectors are mounted, and selective positioning of lossy material. Such techniques may be simply and reliably implemented in high density connector using one or more techniques. An electrical connector may include core members held by a housing together with leadframe assemblies attached to the core members. The core members may include features that would be difficult to mold in a housing and may include both shields and lossy materials in locations that would be difficult to incorporate in a leadframe assembly.

Abstract: Various examples are directed to systems and methods for operating a vehicle comprising a tractor and a trailer attached for pulling behind the tractor. A center-of-mass system may determine a mass of the trailer and a tractor understeer. The center-of-mass system may determine the tractor understeer using steering input data describing a steering angle of the tractor and yaw data describing a yaw of the tractor. The center-of-mass system may determine a load center of mass using the tractor understeer and a mass of the trailer. The center-of-mass system may further determine that the load center of mass transgresses a center-of-mass threshold and send an alert message indicating that the load transgresses the load center-of-mass threshold.

The processor receives an instruction via the one or more RF supervisory links to control a movement of the mounting component along with the optical routing component such that an angle or a direction of deflection of one or more laser beams from an optical routing component of the optical routing device is changed. The optical routing component includes one or more laser beam handling regions configured to handle a plurality of laser beams concurrently in which a first laser beam is deflected via a first region for downstream data communication in downstream path and a second laser beam is deflected via a second region for upstream data communication in upstream path.
