Abstract: A method for video encoding includes determining that a current block in a first coding tree unit (CTU) of a current picture is to be coded using an affine model in a merge mode, and obtaining, from a line buffer, one or more motion vectors of blocks located at bottom locations in a second CTU above the current block. The line buffer only stores motion vectors of minimum-size blocks located at the bottom locations of the second CTU above the current block and the line buffer does not store (i) a block width or block height of the minimum-size blocks, (ii) affine control point information, and (iii) an affine flag. The method further includes deriving motion vectors of control points of the current block using the affine merge model, and encoding the current block based on the affine merge model and the motion vectors of the control points.

Abstract: A multifaceted capillary that can be used in a wire-bonding machine to create a multi-segment wire-bond is disclosed. The multifaceted capillary is shaped to apply added pressure and thickness to an outer segment of the multi-segment wire-bond that is closest to the wire loop. The added pressure eliminates a gap under a heel portion of the multi-segment wire-bond and the added thickness increases a mechanical strength of the heel portion. As a result, a pull test of the multi-segment wire-bond may be higher than a single-segment wire-bond and the multi-segment wire-bond may resist cracking, lifting, or breaking.

Abstract: TLB poisoning attacks take advantage of security issues of translation lookaside buffer (TLB) management on SEV processors in Secure Encrypted Virtualization (SEV) virtual machines (VMs). In various embodiments, a hypervisor may poison TLB entries between two processes of a SEV VM to compromise the integrity and confidentiality of the SEV VM. Variants of TLB poisoning attacks and end-to-end attacks are shown to be successful on both Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) SEV and SEV-Encrypted State (SEV-ES). Countermeasures for thwarting TLB poisoning attacks include hardware-enforced TLB flush processes and re-exec schemes that, among other things, prevent attackers from manipulating TLB entries and causing a privileged victim process to execute malicious code in an attempt to bypass a password authentication.

Abstract: A method for forming a prelithiated, layered anode material includes contacting an ionic compound and a lithium precursor in an environment having a temperature ranging from about 200° C. to about 900° C. The ionic compound is a three-dimensional layered material represented by MX2, where M is one of calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg) and X is one of silicon (Si), germanium (Ge), and boron (B). The lithium precursor is selected from the group consisting of: LiH, LiC, LiOH, LiCl, and combinations thereof. The contacting of the ionic compound and the lithium precursor in the environment causes removal of cations from the ionic compound to create openings in interlayer spaces or voids in the three-dimensional layered material thereby defining a two-dimensional layered material and also causes introduction of lithium ions from the lithium precursor into the interlayer spaces or voids to form the prelithiated, layered anode material.
