Abstract: Countermeasure method for programming a non-defective plane of a non-volatile memory experiencing a neighbor plane disturb, comprising, once a first plane is determined to have completed programming of a current state but where not all planes have completed the programming, a loop count is incremented and a determination is made as to whether the loop count exceeds a threshold. If so, programming of the incomplete plane(s) is ceased and programming of the completed plane(s) is resumed by suspending the loop count and bit scan mode, and, on a next program pulse, applying a pre-determined rollback voltage to decrement a program voltage bias. The loop count and bit scan mode are resumed once a threshold voltage level equals a program voltage bias when the loop count was last incremented. BSPF criterion is applied for each programmed state. Advancement to the next loop only occurs if a programmed state is determined incomplete.

Abstract: A redox flow battery includes positive and negative electrodes respectfully located in half-cells separated by a porous silicon wafer separator formed by MEMS Technology. The first half cell and the second half cell each preferably include a plurality of dividers or barriers configured to create flow channels which introduce turbulence insuring the electrolytes are changing or mixing at surfaces of the electrodes and the membrane. Also disclosed is a solar energy generation and storage system which includes a photovoltaic cell and an electrochemical energy storage battery which share a common electrode. Also disclosed is a membrane-less redox flow electrical energy storage battery, having a cathode electrode; an anode electrode formed of a porous silicon substrate in which surfaces of the pores of the porous silicon substrate are coated at least in part with a metal silicide; and, an electrolyte.

Abstract: Innovations in control and use of chroma quantization parameter (“QP”) values that depend on luma QP values. More generally, the innovations relate to control and use of QP values for a secondary color component that depend on QP values for a primary color component. For example, during encoding, an encoder determines a QP index from a primary component QP and secondary component QP offset. The encoder maps the QP index to a secondary component QP, which has an extended range. The encoder outputs at least part of a bitstream including the encoded content. A corresponding decoder receives at least part of a bitstream including encoded content. During decoding, the decoder determines a QP index from a primary component QP and secondary component QP offset, then maps the QP index to a secondary component QP, which has an extended range.

Abstract: A marine vessel may include thrusters, an electrical system, and multiple flywheels (i) to supply electrical power to the electrical system and (ii) to stabilize marine vessel roll and/or pitch angle. A flywheel controller may be configured to control electrical power output from the flywheels to the electrical system, and control axis of rotation of one or more rotors of respective flywheels to compensate for roll and/or pitch angles of the marine vessel. A method of powering and stabilizing a marine vessel may include supplying, by flywheels, electrical power to an electrical system to supply electrical power to thrusters and electrical equipment. Flywheel(s) may be used to stabilize marine vessel roll and/or pitch angle. Electrical power output may be controlled from the flywheels to the electrical system. Axis of rotation of one or more flywheel rotors may be controlled to compensate for roll and/or pitch angles of the marine vessel.

Abstract: A gap gauge is disclosed for facilitating an arthroplasty procedure on a first bone and a second bone of a patient. The gap gauge may include a first plate positionable in contact with the first bone, a second plate positionable in contact with the second bone. The second plate may be displaced from the first plate by a displacement. The gap gauge may further include a balance indicator configured to indicate a balance status between the first plate and the second plate and a pin guide. The pin guide is configured to couple to one of the first plate and second plate and includes a pin hole that is configured to guide a pin for insertion into the second bone. The pin can be used to couple a cutting guide to the second bone to resect the second bone to adjust the balance status.

Abstract: An extendable mechanical grabber is presented for grabbing objects at a distance. The grabber has two extension portions that slide relative to one another through a mechanical engagement. A trigger on the first extension portion is mounted in a handle. The trigger pulls a cable that passes to an activator on a grabber head mounted on the second extension portion. The cable passes from the trigger, through a pulley connected to the activator, through a second pulley mounted at on the second extension portion, and back to a terminal attachment on an end of the first extension portion opposite the handle.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments are disclosed of power delivery (PD) assemblies, including powering, charging, and data connect devices usable within vehicles, etc. In exemplary embodiments, a power block (e.g., standalone power block, wireless charger, etc.) may be connected via a vehicle harness to a user interface (PD charger only) or a user interface (USB hub with charging and data). Accordingly, power blocks having the same or common form factor and vehicle harnesses having the same or common configuration (Vbus PD, GND, CC1, and CC2) may therefore be used to interchangeably connect to charger only user interfaces or to user interfaces with charging and data.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described herein for manipulating a communication acceptance screen, manipulating an interactive communication acceptance icon, and restricting access to accounts based on voice communication parameters. In particular, when a communication is detected from one device to another device, that communication may be risky. Thus, the risk is mitigated by giving a user information about the source of the communication to give a user a chance to reject the communication. In addition, in instances where the user accepts the communication, the system enables monitoring the communication and restricting any accounts that are disclosed within the communication.

Abstract: A system and method for automatically analyzing and managing a media huh software update. The system and method each utilize available media hub system and diagnostic information to aid in the analysis and installation of a software update. If the installation of the update is determined to require memory capacity in excess of what is currently available within the media hub, an archive and off-loading process is automatically initiated to free the required memory space during the installation process. Any off-loaded information and/or applications are then restored after the installation is complete.

Abstract: A controller for controlling a chopper arrangement of an agricultural harvester. The controller receives sensor data indicative of an intensity of chopping performed on crop material by the chopper arrangement, and sensor data indicative of a power consumption of the chopper arrangement. The controller has a processor to determine an actuator setting for a chopper arrangement actuator of the agricultural harvester in dependence on the received sensor data indicative of the intensity of chopping and the received sensor data indicative of the power consumption. The controller sends an actuator control signal to the chopper arrangement actuator to control the chopper arrangement actuator to operate in accordance with the associated determined actuator setting. The determined actuator setting includes an amount of insertion, and an angle of insertion, of at least one bank of counter knives of the chopper arrangement relative to rotatable knife rows of the chopper arrangement.

Abstract: A multi-functional router base that includes associated components and various methods of use herein. The router base includes a base plate and an attachment assembly that is operably engaged with the base plate. The router base also includes a first attachment rod and a second attachment rod provided on the attachment assembly, where the first attachment rod and the second attachment rods are adapted to engage a router. The first attachment rod and the second attachment rod of the router base are linearly moveable relative to the base plate. As to the linear movement, the first attachment rod and the second attachment rod are transversely linearly moveable relative to one another and are vertically linearly moveable relative to the base plate based on the configuration of the router being operably engaged with the router base. An edge guiding fence may be operably engageable with the base plate.

Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to robot camera control. A robotic device may receive a user input to control a camera operatively connected to the robot device; identify a live-motion filter applied to the camera; identify a filter setpoint associated with the live-motion filter; generate filtered position control data for the camera based on the user input, the live-motion filter, and the filter setpoint; generate joint data for the robot device based on the filtered position control data; and cause the camera to move according to the joint data.

Abstract: Methods and software facilitate supplier willingness awareness in a marketplace of suppliers of structures represented and/or specified in a design. In some embodiments, methods and software of the present disclosure allow each of any one or more designers participating in an automated marketplace to view a list of suppliers that are willing to fabricate a particular design and/or prices associated with fabricating such a design such that the designers can quickly and easily identify suppliers that are not only capable of fabricating particular designs but also willing to do so. Such a list may be generated by comparing a list of objective requirements for a design, which may be generated from fabrication data associated with a designer's request for price or computer aided design file, to willingness data associated with one or more suppliers.

Abstract: Systems and methods for deep neural network (DNN)-based cross component prediction are provided. A method includes inputting a reconstructed luma block of an image or video into a DNN; and predicting, by the DNN, a reconstructed chroma block of the image or video based on the reconstructed luma block that is input. Luma and chroma reference information and side information may also be input into the DNN to predict the reconstructed chroma block. The various inputs may also be generated using processes such as downsampling and transformation.

Abstract: This application describes methods, mediums, and systems for verifying a device for use in a messaging system. Using the device verification procedures described, a messaging system can securely authorize new devices to send and receive encrypted messages on behalf of a user, preferably without the need to share a private encryption key between the users' different devices. The application describes several techniques that can be used to provide such a system, including distributing a computer-perceptible code that encodes encryption information between a secondary device and a primary device. This allows the information to be distributed without intervention by a server. Other techniques provide unique ways to build and reverify authorized device lists, distribute encryption keys in chat channels, ensure that lists of authorized devices are distributed in the correct order and remain valid for an appropriate amount of time, add new devices to an ongoing or new conversation, and more.

Abstract: A method for monitoring and managing heterogeneous vendor storage systems may include performing, by a management system, operations including: sending instructions to a vendor storage system among the heterogeneous vendor storage systems to cause the vendor storage system to generate a vendor answer file on the vendor storage system, sending instructions to the vendor storage system to copy vendor data from the generated vendor answer file to volatile memory of the management system, tracking and logging events associated with the copying of the vendor data, validating the copied vendor data based on the logged events, determining standardized reporting data from the validated vendor data in the volatile memory of the management system, saving the standardized reporting data in a data structure formatted for the heterogeneous vendor storage systems, receiving a user query regarding the saved standardized reporting data, and displaying the saved standardized reporting data in a user interface.

The method includes generating outline data based on the deviation data and corresponding to a frontal area of the user. The method may also include determining drag coefficient data based on the frontal area of the user. The method includes determining, based on the outline data and the drag coefficient data, drag force data associated with the user using the exercise device.
