  • Patent number: 11432101
Abstract: A determination is made as to whether a computing device is located inside a first geofence of a geofence environment. A first location determination mode available to the computing device for determining a location of the computing device is identified. A second location determination mode available to the computing device for determining a location of the computing device is identified, wherein the second location determination mode consumes less power than the first location determination mode. A selection is made between the first location determination mode and the second location determination mode, based on the determination of whether the computing device is located inside the first geofence. A next location of the computing device is determined using the selected location determination mode, a next location of the computing device.

  • Patent number: 11430443
Abstract: A system that provides a sharable language interface for implementing automated assistants in new domains and applications. A dialogue assistant that is trained in a first domain can receive a specification in a second domain. The specification can include language structure data such as schemas, recognizers, resolvers, constraints and invariants, actions, language hints, generation template, and other data. The specification data is applied to the automated assistant to enable the automated assistant to provide interactive dialogue with a user in a second domain associated with the received specification. In some instances, portions of the specification may be automatically mapped to portions of the first domain. By having the ability to learn new domains and applications through receipt of objects and properties rather than retooling the interface entirely, the present system is much more efficient at learning how to provide interactive dialogue in new domains than previous systems.

  • Patent number: 11429100
Abstract: A locomotive inspection system includes sensors that are selectively coupled to a locomotive during an inspection or maintenance event for the locomotive and a controller that is operable to cause a control system of the locomotive that controls plural operations of the locomotive to initiate a first operation and a different, second operation. The controller determines whether the control system has first sensor information indicative of a state of the locomotive during the first operation. The controller sends a command signal to the control system to direct the control system to change locomotive operations from the first operation to the second operation responsive to determining that the control system lacks the first sensor information. The controller obtains second sensor information from the one or more sensors based on the second operation and determines a condition of components of the locomotive based on the first and second sensor information.

  • Patent number: 11429492
Abstract: Systems and methods for protecting and identifying virtual machines that have the same name in a multi-tenant distributed environment are provided. When backing up a virtual machine, a unique identifier of the virtual machine is incorporated into the name of the virtual machine's save set. This allows a backup administrator to distinguish between virtual machines that have the same name. This improves the ability to perform restore operations by enabling virtual machines that have the same name to be distinguished.

  • Patent number: 11430052
Abstract: Ring attributes may be predicted using a predictive model. A diamond selection system determines predicted ring attributes by obtaining and analyzing data related to a recipient, such as social media activity. The diamond selection system may determine search parameters based on predicted ring attributes and present a curated selection or list of candidate stones and/or settings that match the determined search parameters, for example, in a user interface of a mobile electronic device.

  • Patent number: 11430179
Abstract: Techniques for improving remote rendering and reprojection are disclosed herein. A color image is generated, where this color image includes overlapping content regions. A depth buffer is generated for the color image and includes depth values for the pixels in the color image. The depth buffer includes both essential and non-essential depth discontinuities. While preserving the essential depth discontinuities, the non-essential depth discontinuities are eliminated from the depth buffer. New non-essential discontinuities are prevented from being included in the final version of the depth buffer. The color image is encoded into a color image video stream, and the modified depth buffer is encoded into a depth buffer stream. The color image video stream and the depth buffer stream are then transmitted to a remotely located HMD. The HMD then reprojects the color image based on the depth values in the depth buffer.

  • Patent number: 11426205
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for a syndesmosis treatment construct configured to be placed into a cinched configuration that presses a first bone against a second bone. The syndesmosis treatment construct comprises a proximal fixator to contact the first bone and a distal fixator to contact the second bone. A first suture and a second suture are parallelly looped through the proximal fixator and oppositely looped through the distal fixator. Distal ends of the first and second sutures are fixated within a washer disposed between the proximal fixator and the first bone. Proximal ends of the first and second sutures are passed through openings in the washer and through the proximal fixator. Pulling of the proximal ends by a practitioner places the syndesmosis treatment construct into a cinched configuration. Any of various suitable suture knots may be formed so as to fixate the cinched configuration.
