The fluid impermeable first layer includes a drain outlet, a basin, and a sloping surface angled toward the basin, the drain outlet being positioned within the basin. The porous second layer may be formed of a foam material and includes a top work surface. Fluids spilled onto the work surface pass through the porous second layer to the fluid impermeable first layer. The sloping surface of the fluid impermeable first layer conveys the fluids toward the basin for draining through the drainage outlet.

    Abstract: A fiber comprises a bulk material comprising: one or more of carbon, silicon, boron, silicon carbide, and boron nitride; and a metal or metal alloy whose affinity for oxygen is greater than that of the bulk material. At least a first portion of the metal or metal alloy is present at the entrance to grain boundaries at the surface of the fiber and within the fiber to a depth of at least 1 micron from the fiber surface. A method of improving a fiber comprises heating a fiber in an inert atmosphere to 900-1300 C for sufficient time to allow at least some of a metal or metal alloy, placed on the fiber, to diffuse and/or flow into and along grain boundaries to a depth of at least 1 micron. The metal or metal alloy has a greater affinity for oxygen than that of the fiber bulk material.

A maneuver of the vehicle to avoid a collision with the object is predicted based on the sensor data and the trajectory of the vehicle. It is determined that a passenger comfort level of a passenger riding in the vehicle will decrease based on the maneuver of the vehicle. The passenger comfort level is measured by passenger sensors of the vehicle. A graphical user interface is generated including representations of the vehicle, the object, and a graphic, text, or a symbol alerting the passenger of the predicted maneuver. The graphical user interface is transmitted to a display device of the vehicle.
