Abstract: Identifying data quality along a data flow. A method includes identifying quality metadata for two or more datasets. The quality metadata defines one or more of quality of a data source, accuracy of a dataset, completeness of a dataset, freshness of a dataset, or relevance of a dataset. At least some of the metadata is based on results of operations along a data flow. Based on the metadata, the method includes creating one or more quality indexes for the datasets. The one or more quality indexes include a characterization of quality of two or more datasets.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods that enable map search recommendations based on a geo-semantic index developed using image content analysis. In one example, a computer-implemented method can include obtaining, by one or more computing devices, a vocabulary of image feature types associated with user activities. The method can include obtaining a collection of imagery. The method can include performing image content analysis on the collection of imagery based on the vocabulary of image feature types. The method can include generating at least one activity score for each of a plurality of location cells in a geo-semantic index based at least in part on the vocabulary of image feature types. The method can include populating the geo-semantic index of location cells, the geo-semantic index of location cells including data indicative of the at least one activity score for each location cell.

Abstract: LED apparatuses featuring etched mesas and techniques for manufacturing LED apparatuses are described, including techniques for reducing surface recombination and techniques for charge carrier confinement. Etched facets of an LED mesa can be passivated using epitaxial regrowth of one or more semiconductor regrowth layers. The one or more semiconductor regrowth layers can include a transition layer. The transition layer can be configured with a bandgap energy between that of layers that are on opposite sides of the transition layer. A transition layer can separate an etched facet and another regrowth layer or separate two regrowth layers. In some instances, selective etching can be performed to preferentially etch a quantum well layer relative to a barrier layer. The selective etching removes surface imperfections, which contribute to surface recombination and which tend to be more prevalent in etched facets of the quantum well layer than etched facets of the barrier layer.

Abstract: A forest fire retardant composition contains a retardant compound that includes a phosphate salt. The phosphate salt may include diammonium phosphate, diammonium orthophosphate, monoammonium phosphate, monoammonium orthophosphate, monosodium phosphate, disodium phosphate, disodium phosphate hydrate, sodium ammonium phosphate, sodium ammonium phosphate hydrate, sodium tripolyphosphate, trisodium phosphate, or dipotassium phosphate, and combinations thereof. The forest fire retardant composition may include an ammonium source. The composition may be in the form of a dry concentrate, a liquid concentrate, or a final diluted product. The final diluted product is effective in suppressing, retarding, and controlling forest fires while exhibiting corrosion resistance and low toxicity.

Abstract: A system for overvoltage protection in an electric aircraft, and a method for its use. The system includes an energy storage element, an overvoltage protection device, a ground conductor, at least a current conductor, at least a sensor, and a controller. The overvoltage protection device is configured to control transmission of electrical power through the connector. The at least a sensor is configured to detect an output voltage of the connector. The controller is communicatively connected to the at least a sensor. The controller is configured to determine an overvoltage output, and activate the over based on detection of the overvoltage output.

Abstract: A system for making a composition of matter that may include a neutralization reactor; an oil phase mixer or preparation vessel; an aqueous phase mixer or preparation vessel; an emulsifier; a homogenizer or comparable; a polymerization reactor, which may be a tube reactor; and an inversion vessel or comparable. The system may be suitable to make or otherwise produce the composition that includes by weight percent about: 15-25% oil phase; 35-50% water; 20-35% polymer; 0-10% surfactant; and 0-3% other trace materials.

Abstract: A system for determining a stuck point of a pipe positioned within a wellbore includes a tubular housing and a sensor array positioned within the tubular housing. The system also includes ferromagnetic flux collectors and flux concentrators on either side of the sensor array. The flux collectors collect a magnetic flux that has been written to a portion of pipe. The flux concentrators intensify the flux to improve measurements of the flux that are acquired by the sensor array.

Abstract: Vehicles that are autonomous or human-operated may drive in a platoon to achieve energy savings. A leader vehicle receives information broadcasts from following vehicles that include a state of energy and one or more other values such as energy usage rates, range, destination, and aerodynamic properties. The leader vehicle may then determine an ordering of vehicles that increases the range of the platoon, e.g., reduces the number of refueling/recharging stops of the platoon. Other considerations for ordering the vehicles may include overall energy savings and a fair distribution of energy savings. A desired ordering may be achieved by transmitting swap commands to pairs of vehicles until the platoon is in the correct ordering.

Abstract: A user interface for a distributed antenna system (DAS) is provided. When executed by a processor, a signal distribution engine receives information about signals transported by the DAS and components of the DAS. The signal engine generates a signal set assignment user interface including a list of signals transported by the DAS and a signal set formation area for receiving a signal set. The signal engine also generates a signal distribution user interface that includes representations of signal sets, hardware components, and associations between hardware components. In response to receiving a request to associate the signal set with a specified hardware component, a command is output to configure a signal path so that signals in the signal set are provided to the specified hardware component.

Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring operation of a sump pump are provided. A method includes connecting a power adapter to the sump pump and a float-switch. The power adapter includes a printed circuit board (PCB) positioned within a housing, a power supply in electrical communication with components coupled to the PCB, and an integrated chip coupled to the PCB. The integrated chip is configured to establish a wireless connection to a first wireless network, and transmit a message to a remote server over the first wireless network. The method further includes causing an internet enabled device to send one or more instructions that causes the power adapter to connect to the first wireless network, and receiving, using the internet enabled device, a message from the remote server.

Abstract: A leveling clip and tile leveling device for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment, the leveling clip includes a body defining an opening that is configured to accept a wedge device thereat. Tapered legs extend from the body and join a base at a base to body coupling. The base extends to a front and a rear of the body. The base to body coupling includes a frangible breakaway section that is integral prior to frangible separation and the frangible breakaway section, upon breaking, frangibly separates the body from the base. The leveling clip may be used with the wedge device to install two, three, or four tiles.

Abstract: A system for air handling, the system includes a pipe comprised of plastic having an oval cross-section. The system may further include a register boot comprised of plastic having a main body with a first opening and a second opening wherein the first opening has an oval cross-section for connection with an oval pipe and wherein the second opening is generally rectangular for fitting a register cover. The system may further include a fitting having a first end and a second end, the first end having a round opening and a second opening having an oval cross-section and a main body between the first end and the second end. The main body may be sized and shaped such that the round opening is presented orthogonally to the second opening. The system may further include a t-fitting having a first segment with a first opening attached to a second segment orthogonal to the first segment, the second segment having first and second opposite openings.

Abstract: Example methods disclosed herein include determining a first time associated with an event notification embedded in primary media, the primary media from an online media provider by an audience measurement entity, the first time to be determined based on (i) a length of a graphical progress indicator associated with the primary media and (ii) a location of the event notification in the primary media. Example methods also include determining a second time associated with a media feature of the primary media. Disclosed example methods further include indicating that secondary media from the online media provider is to be embedded in the primary media when a difference between the first time and the second time meets a threshold.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a system includes a surface processor and a tool drill string having a downhole device including a downhole processor. The surface processor may include a memory storing instructions, and the surface processor may be communicatively coupled to the downhole processor. The surface processor may be configured to execute the instructions to receive one or more first measurements from the downhole device, and determine whether the one or more first measurements satisfy a threshold measurement. Responsive to determining the one or more first measurements satisfy the threshold measurement, the surface processor may electronically modify a weight on bit by a first amount and electronically modify a revolutions per minute of a motor by a second amount.

Abstract: Systems and methods for determining a risk of damage to a crop on an agronomic field are described. In an embodiment, a computer system receives, for each hour of a first day, weather data identifying temperature values and humidity values associated with a geographic location. The computer system determines, for a particular hour of the first day, that a temperature value is within a first range of values and a humidity value is within a second range of values and, in response, identifies the particular hour as a risk hour. The computer system computes, for a second day, a risk value for one or more agronomic fields at the geographic location based, at least in part, on one or more identified risk hours between a day of planting a crop on the one or more agronomic fields and the second day.

Abstract: The method includes receiving sender media that was recorded by a sender device associated with a sender. The method further comprises playing, by a recipient device, the sender media for a recipient. The method further comprises detecting that the recipient is speaking. The method further comprises recording recipient media based on detecting that the recipient is speaking. The method further comprises determining a location in the sender media at which the recipient media is to be included. The method further comprises generating combined media that includes at least a portion of the sender media and the recipient media at the location.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to using nanoporous metal tips to establish connections between a first body and a second body. The first body is positioned relative to the second body to align contacts protruding from a first surface of the first body with electrodes protruding from a second surface of the second body. The second surface faces the first surface. The contacts, the electrodes, or both comprise nanoporous metal tips. A relative movement is made between the first body and the second body after positioning the first body to approach the first body to the second body. The contacts and the electrodes are bonded by melting and solidifying the nanoporous metal tips after approaching the first body and the second body.

Abstract: An interspinous, interlaminar space expander and measurement instrument for preparing an interspinous, interlaminar space between adjacent vertebrae to receive an implantable interspinous, interlaminar stabilization device is provided. The instrument includes an indicator which measures both height of the space and applied force to maintain that height.

The pain-relieving composition comprises beeswax, coconut oil, and peppermint essential oil, and, at a minimum, does not comprise dimethylsulfoxide, methylsulfonylmethane, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, an analgesic, an anesthetic, olecanthal, an olecanthal-related compound, potassium aluminum sulfate, stearic acid, camphor, cayenne, a non-essential oil in addition to the coconut oil, or water; and does not further comprise both Eucalyptus essential oil and lavender essential oil. The processes for preparing such pain-relieving compositions comprises providing beeswax, coconut oil, and peppermint essential oil, melting the beeswax and coconut oil to form a molten beeswax and coconut oil mixture, and combining the peppermint essential oil with the molten beeswax and coconut oil mixture.
