Patent number: 11409454Abstract: A protocol for processing write operations may include recording each write operation in a log using a PDESC(page descriptor)-PB(page block) pair. The protocol may be a data commit sequence that assigns ownership to containers of logged writes. Each container may be associated with a particular logical block address (LBA) range of a logical device, where logged writes that write to target addresses in the particular LBA range of the logical device may be included in the container. Ownership of a container may be determined by the initial write operation that is mapped to, and placed into, the container based on the target logical address of the write operation. A container may be allocated in response to the initial write operation of the container. Multiple nodes may independently flush containers of logged operations based on the particular node designated as the current owner of the containers.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 2021Date of Patent: August 9, 2022Assignee: EMC IP Holding Company LLCInventors: Vladimir Shveidel, Vamsi K. Patent number: 11412260Abstract: A decoder may perform a method of decompressing images that include texture features that are not aligned with an axis of the image being compressed. In some example implementation, the method may include receiving a block of geometrically transformed pixel values and performing an inverse geometric transformation on the block of geometrically transformed pixel values to generate a first block of pixel values. The geometrically transformed pixel values represent texture features of an image that are non-parallel with a vertical axis or a horizontal axis of the image and the first block of pixel values being one of a plurality of blocks of the image. The example method may further include generating at least a portion of the image based on the first block of pixel values.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 2019Date of Patent: August 9, 2022Assignee: Google LLCInventors: Jyrki Antero Alakuijala, Jan Wassenberg
