  • Patent number: 11407456
Abstract: A system for accessing a wheel of a vehicle includes a support, a carrier, and a hinge joint. The support is affixed in a recess of a vehicle bed, and is positioned below the surface of the vehicle bed. The carrier is configured to be affixed to the wheel. When the carrier is affixed to the wheel, both the carrier and the wheel are accommodated in the recess and move as a substantially rigid body. The hinge joint couples the support and the carrier. The hinge joint has an axis substantially parallel to the ground and laterally across the vehicle bed. The carrier is capable of rotating about the hinge joint. The carrier and the wheel are capable of being rotated about the hinge joint out of the recess and onto the vehicle bed. One or more rotational elements may be included to affect rotational motion of the carrier.

  • Patent number: 11412120
Abstract: Computing devices are described that can reduce a hole-in-active-area (HIAA) size for flexible displays. The computing device may reduce an HIAA size for a camera without using a circular opening, which is often used on smartphones. In particular, the computing device may utilize a non-circular opening (e.g., a pill-shaped HIAA) and include a camera positioned eccentrically within the non-circular opening. In this way, the HIAA size is minimized to increase a size of an active area (e.g., comprising emissive regions) of the flexible display. Furthermore, the reduced HIAA size can reduce electrical circuitry needed within the active area. The flexible displays can include both bendable and rollable displays.

  • Patent number: 11406448
Abstract: A hand-held device for providing a dermatological treatment by scanning laser beams to form a pattern of treatment spots on the skin includes a laser source configured to generate an input laser beam, an automated scanning system, and a treatment spot control system. The automated scanning system includes a rotating multi-sector scanning element configured to repeatedly scan the input laser beam, each scan of the input laser beam providing an array of output laser beams corresponding to the multiple sectors of the scanning element and forming a scanned row of treatment spots on the skin. The rotating multi-sector scanning element is configured such that the each sector provides a constant-angular-direction output laser beam as that sector rotates through the input laser beam. The treatment spots of each scanned row are spaced apart from each other by areas of non-irradiated skin.

  • Patent number: 11411634
Abstract: This document describes reporting beam failure by a user equipment (110) to a base station (121) in a radio access network (140), in which the user equipment (110) receives a first uplink grant (502) and initiates a beam recovery procedure (504). Based on the beam recovery procedure determining that a beam has failed, the user equipment (110) transmits, using the first uplink grant, a first Media Access Control Protocol Data Unit including a first MAC Control Element that indicates a first Synchronization Signal Block and a second Synchronization Signal Block, the transmission being effective to cause the base station (121) to determine that, based on receiving the first Synchronization Signal Block, the beam failure was detected by the user equipment (110) on the first Synchronization Signal Block (506).

  • Patent number: 11407293
Abstract: An interchangeable convertible roof apparatus is provided. In another aspect, a lower roof bow pivot is interchangeable between multiple locations depending on which roof cover configuration is desired during top stack mechanism assembly. A further aspect employs identically same side rails, roof bows and linkages between a fastback convertible roof configuration and a squareback convertible roof configuration, except for a roof bow located above and adjacent to a back window (when in a closed position), such as a four-bow, and optionally a mounting bracket. Still another aspect employs a fastener to allow the same fabric roof cover to be interchanged between differently sized configurations when in its closed position. Moreover, a brace stationarily secures a vehicular roll bar to a top stack mechanism of a convertible roof in a rigidly attached manner.

  • Patent number: 11411612
Abstract: In 5G/6G wireless networks, a user device and a base station may transmit and receive messages unidirectionally, using directional antennas, and may thereby provide sufficient reception while saving energy and time. A user device can determine its own location and the location of the base station, calculate an angle toward the base station, and thereby transmit a narrow-beam message to the base station. The message may indicate the user device's location so that the base station can direct its transmission and reception beam toward the user device. The user device and the base station can then transmit and receive messages unidirectionally for improved energy efficiency, improved reception, and reduced interference generation.
