Patent number: 11404600Abstract: The invention is directed towards enhanced systems and methods for employing a pulsed photon (or EM energy) source, such as but not limited to a laser, to electrically couple, bond, and/or affix the electrical contacts of a semiconductor device to the electrical contacts of another semiconductor devices. Full or partial rows of LEDs are electrically coupled, bonded, and/or affixed to a backplane of a display device. The LEDs may be ?LEDs. The pulsed photon source is employed to irradiate the LEDs with scanning photon pulses. The EM radiation is absorbed by either the surfaces, bulk, substrate, the electrical contacts of the LED, and/or electrical contacts of the backplane to generate thermal energy that induces the bonding between the electrical contacts of the LEDs' electrical contacts and backplane's electrical contacts. The temporal and spatial profiles of the photon pulses, as well as a pulsing frequency and a scanning frequency of the photon source, are selected to control for adverse thermal effects.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 2020Date of Patent: August 2, 2022Assignee: Meta Platforms Technologies, LLCInventors: Jeb Wu, Daniel Brodoceanu, Zheng Sung Chio, Tennyson Nguty, Oscar Torrents Abad, Ali Sengul

Patent number: 11402356Abstract: A system and method for authentication of objects, which includes directing a laser beam onto a surface of an object to induce a thermoelastic excitation in bulk material of the object without altering the surface of the object, wherein the laser beam is pulsed. A surface ultrasonic wave at the surface of the object caused by the thermoelastic excitation is detected using a detector. A detection signal is generated using the detected surface ultrasonic wave. Digital data is generated using the detection signal. Authenticity of the object is determined by comparing the digital data and reference data stored in a database.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 2020Date of Patent: August 2, 2022Assignee: Provenance Laboratories LLCInventors: Joshua Bishop-Moser, Anton Abugov, Alexander Klachin, Anya Goldin

Patent number: 11403190Abstract: Techniques are provided for dynamic snapshot scheduling. In an example, a dynamic snapshot scheduler can analyze historical data about storage system resources. The dynamic snapshot scheduler can use this historical data to predict how the storage system resources will be used in the future. Based on this prediction, the dynamic snapshot scheduler can schedule snapshot activities for one or more times that are relatively unlikely to experience system resource contention. The dynamic snapshot scheduler can then initiate snapshot activities at those scheduled times.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2020Date of Patent: August 2, 2022Assignee: EMC IP Holding Company LLCInventors: Deepak Nagarajegowda, Parminder Singh Sethi

Patent number: 11402223Abstract: Systems and methods of generating scenic routes and safe parking locations near scenic points are provided. Based at least in part upon a driver indication of a preference for a scenic route from an origin location to a destination location, a mobile device application may generate a scenic route by selecting route segments between the origin location and the destination location associated with a large number of scenic points. Scenic points may be identified based at least in part upon historical driver telemetry data and POI data. For instance, if historical telemetry data indicates that a large number of drivers stop briefly at a location not known to be near a POI, that location may be a scenic location (e.g., a location where drivers frequently leave their vehicles to take photos). Additionally, safe parking locations near each scenic point may be identified based at least in part upon historical vehicle damage data, and navigation directions to safe parking locations may be provided.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 2020Date of Patent: August 2, 2022Assignee: BlueOwl, LLCInventors: Patricia Grealish-Rust, Theobolt N. Patent number: 11405400Abstract: Cybersecurity is improved by automatically finding underutilized access capabilities. Some embodiments obtain an access capability specification, gather access attempt data, and computationally determine that the access capability has not been exercised sufficiently, based on an access capability exercise sufficiency criterion. Security is then enhanced by automatically producing a recommendation to harden a guarded computing system by reducing, disabling, or deleting the insufficiently exercised access capability. In some cases, security enhancement is performed by automatically hardening the guarded computing system. Access capability exercise sufficiency determination may be based on fixed, statistical, or learned time period thresholds or activity level thresholds, or on a combination thereof using confidence levels. Thresholds are compared to a detected time period value or a detected activity level value that is derived from the access attempt data, to determine exercise sufficiency.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2019Date of Patent: August 2, 2022Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Jonathan Gazit, Moshe Israel
