  • Patent number: 11389030
Abstract: A vacuum blending system may be used to blend solids, powders, and/or liquids (foodstuff) in an evacuated blender jar and/or evacuated enclosure to reduce or eliminate the air included in the resulting mixture. The vacuum blending system may be embodied as a vacuum lid adaptable for use with any of a wide variety of blending systems. In other embodiments, the vacuum blending system may be embodied as a blender with an integrated vacuum system. In still other embodiments, the vacuum blending system may be embodied as a vacuum pump, and optional vacuum tank, for use with a plurality off blender enclosures. Any of these vacuum blending systems may be used to produce blended foodstuff that has superior texture, offer increased nutritional benefit, and/or remain homogeneous for longer than the same foodstuff remains well-mixed when blended in a non-vacuum.

  • Patent number: 11390260
Abstract: A parking brake apparatus is provided for a power unit having air brake parking components and to which a towed unit having air brake parking components can be connected. The parking brake apparatus comprises a controller arranged to monitor a pressure signal indicative of a delivery air pressure applied to the air brake parking components of the towed unit when the towed unit is connected to the power unit. The controller is also arranged to provide a status signal indicative of whether or not a towed unit is connected to the power unit based upon the pressure signal. The controller further enables the status signal to be processed to control application or release of any combination of air brake parking components of the power unit and the towed unit to park or unpark the power unit as well as the towed unit, if connected to the power unit.

  • Patent number: 11392930
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for enabling gift interactions via social media. For example, a user can post to a social networking site in a particular way to establish a gift transfer to a recipient based on a policy, such that when the recipient makes a purchase using their pre-existing payment account, the gift (an amount of money) is transferred or applied to the recipient payment account. A particular structure or feature of a social network post can trigger the creation of the policy, with metadata or information parsed from the social network post providing additional details of the policy. In this way, a user can set up a gift transfer without interacting with a gift portal, application, or website. The recipient does not need to use any special code, separate physical gift cards, or printable coupons to redeem or use the gift.

  • Patent number: 11392608
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to managing visualizations of data. Visualizations that include one or more marks associated with values from a data source may be provided. A mark-of-interest may be determined from the one or more marks. Assessment models may be employed to generate assessment results for the assessment models based on the mark-of-interest and the data from the data source such that each assessment result may be associated with scores that may be based on a best fit to the data from the data source and a value of the mark-of-interest. The assessment results may be rank ordered based on their association with the scores. A report that includes the rank ordered list of the assessment results may be provided.

  • Patent number: 11393682
Abstract: A nanowire structure includes a substrate, a patterned mask layer on the substrate, and a nanowire. The patterned mask layer is on the substrate and includes an opening through which the substrate is exposed. The nanowire is on the substrate in the opening of the patterned mask layer. The nanowire includes a buffer layer on the substrate, a defect filtering layer on the buffer layer, and an active layer on the defect filtering layer. The defect filtering layer is a strained layer. By providing the defect filtering layer between the buffer layer and the active layer of the nanowire, defects present in the buffer layer can be prevented from propagating into the active layer. Accordingly, defects in the active layer of the nanowire are reduced, thereby improving the performance of the nanowire structure.
