  • Patent number: 12188404
Abstract: A control system for an engine comprising an electric turbocharger and a wastegate is presented. The system is configured to variably open and close to control the flow of exhaust gas in an exhaust system of the engine at a turbine of the electric turbocharger; and a controller that obtains parameters including an exhaust flow rate through the exhaust system. The controller uses the parameters to (i) determine a desired speed of the electric turbocharger to satisfy no flow of the exhaust gas through the turbine; (ii) command the electric turbocharger to rotate in a reverse direction at the desired speed to achieve no flow of the exhaust gas through the turbine; (iii) determine whether an exhaust gas treatment system (ETS) has reached a desired temperature; and (iv) command the electric turbocharger to rotate in a forward direction based on the ETS reaching the desired temperature.

  • Patent number: 12190759
Abstract: A modular sign system is provided comprising a casing for holding a replaceable message therewithin; the casing is configured to be attached to a generally vertical surface, such as a wall or fence, in an urban environment where other means to display a sign are unavailable. The modular sign replaces expensive signs that require specialized stamping or printing and are typically unchangeable, except at great costs, after manufacture. In the present invention a shell is purchased, which can be customized and then easily changed, and allows a modular installation of an inexpensively printed sign card that can be removed and replaced with another message card, from the system without removing the sign from its fixed position, as needed. The shell can be made of molded plastic and can be configured to be attached using cable ties or other flexible connectors and can include elements to protect the replaceable card from weather, vandalism and theft.

  • Patent number: 12190305
Abstract: Disclosed embodiments may include a method for using accounts with multiple profiles where the system allows a primary user to create one or more secondary user profiles. Each secondary user profile is associated with its own VCN and one or more attributes. The one or more attributes can be used to limit the spending ability of each secondary user individually with hard and soft spending limits including merchant category, overall spending, and geographic limits. Purchases by a secondary user that violate the soft limits may be allowed by the primary user using an application associated with the primary account number. Attributes can be assembled by the primary user to create specific and creative spending limits. The system associates each transaction with the user profile using the specific VCN and generates a GUI for the primary user showing the second user profile, its current balance, and transaction history.

  • Patent number: 12189752
Abstract: A robust and reliable multimodal authentication is provided by a multimodal authentication device. The multimodal authentication device utilizes an audio authentication, a video authentication, an audio liveliness authentication, and a video liveliness authentication to determine the authentication of a user. By including a liveliness component in the authentication determination reduces the risk of fraud by factoring in live movement and orientation into the authentication determines. For example, various image/location combinations are displayed to the user and the user is instructed to track and verbally identify the various images. In this way, the user is authenticated based not only on, for example, facial and audio recognition but also a liveliness associated with each.

  • Patent number: 12192907
Abstract: A system for 5G MICO mode operation of a vehicle during an ignition off mode includes a telematics unit and a telematics communication mode controller. The controller monitors energy consumption by the telematics unit and estimates a total energy consumption of the telematics unit through a time period. The controller further compares the total energy consumption to a first threshold energy consumption and a second threshold energy consumption and, when the total energy consumption is less than the first threshold energy consumption, operates the telematics unit in a first mode including unrestricted communication. The telematics communication mode controller, when the total energy consumption is between the first threshold energy consumption and the second threshold energy consumption, operates the telematics unit in a second MICO mode and, when the total energy consumption is greater than the second threshold energy consumption, deactivates communications by the telematics unit.

  • Patent number: 12187446
Abstract: A safe, quiet, easy to control, efficient, and compact aircraft configuration is enabled through the combination of multiple vertical lift rotor assemblies, tandem wings, and forward thrust propellers. The vertical lift rotor assemblies, in combination with a front and rear wing, permits a balancing of the center of lift with the center of gravity for both vertical and horizontal flight. This wing and multiple rotor system has the ability to tolerate a relatively large variation of the payload weight for hover, transition, or cruise flight while also providing vertical thrust redundancy. The propulsion system uses multiple lift rotor assemblies and forward thrust propellers of a small enough size to be shielded from potential blade strike and provide increased perceived and real safety to the passengers. Using multiple independent rotor assemblies provides redundancy and the elimination of single point failure modes that can make the vehicle non-operable in flight.

  • Patent number: 12189503
Abstract: Disclosed embodiments pertain to automatic failover for non-relational databases. A machine learning model can be generated and trained with historical failover data. The historical failover data can be related to previous primary node failures or previous region failures of a plurality of non-relational databases. A non-relational database may be monitored for real-time or near-real-time data. The data can be input into the machine learning model to predict the likelihood that a primary region is in a failure state. A new primary node can be designated automatically when the likelihood satisfies a predetermined threshold. Data services are thus automatically transferred from a primary node in the failing region to a new primary node in a non-failing region.

  • Patent number: 12189701
Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems for sending push notifications of content items to client devices are provided herein. For example, an input received from a user can be expanded to obtain an expanded user interest. Content items from a content source can be filtered based upon the expanded user interest to obtain a set of filtered content items. A push notification can be constructed to comprise one or more of the filtered content items from the set of filtered content items. The push notification can be sent to a client device of the user for display as a device alert notification. In an example, the filtered content items, within the push notification, may be ranked based upon a ranking metric.

  • Patent number: 12191004
Abstract: This disclosure describes a machine learning system that includes a contrastive learning based two-tower model for retrieval of relevant chemical reaction procedures given a query chemical reaction. The two-tower model uses attention-based transformers and neural networks to convert tokenized representations of chemical reactions and chemical reaction procedures to embeddings in a shared embedding space. Each tower can include a transformer network, a pooling layer, a normalization layer, and a neural network. The model is trained with labeled data pairs that include a chemical reaction and the text of a chemical reaction procedure for that chemical reaction. New queries can locate chemical reaction procedures for performing a given chemical reaction as well as procedures for similar chemical reactions. The architecture and training of the model make it possible to perform semantic matching based on chemical structures. The model is highly accurate providing an average recall at K=5 of 95.9%.
