Abstract: A diffraction grating includes a substrate and an array of triangular ridges extending from the substrate. The ridges run parallel to one another and have triangular cross-sections such that first sides of the ridges face in a first direction and adjacent second sides of the ridges face in a second, different direction. An array of grating lines is disposed over the first sides of the array of ridges, each grating line of the array of grating lines comprising a slab of transparent material supported by the first side of a corresponding ridge of the array of ridges. A refractive index of the array of grating lines is different from a refractive index of the array of ridges.

  • Patent number: 11231766
Abstract: A computing device includes a control system that communicates with multiple sensors that capture data regarding a user. The control system communicates with each of the sensors to obtain information regarding the capabilities of each sensor, and uses this capability information to determine how to configure each of the sensors. The control system also selects one of the multiple sensors to be the master sensor, and the rest of the multiple sensors are slave sensors, and notifies the multiple sensors of whether they are a slave sensor or a master sensor. The master sensor collects sensor data for the multiple sensors, capturing data itself as well as receiving data captured by the slave sensors from the slave sensors. The master sensor sends an indication of the collected data (e.g., the collected data itself or data resulting from processing the collected data) to the control system for analysis and/or processing.

  • Patent number: 11233852
Abstract: A computing system obtains a document that is to be shared between a first user and a second user. A first computing device of the first user displays a first local copy of the document. A second computing device of the second user displays a second local copy of the document. While a first view of the document corresponding to a state of the first local copy is being presented, the computing system receives an indication that the second user is to assume control of presentation of the document from the first user. The computing system receives state data from the second computing device that is indicative of a second view of the document corresponding to the second local copy. Based upon the state data, the computing system causes a state of the first local copy of the content to be updated to present the second view.

  • Patent number: 11229947
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a valve body having one or more corrosion-resistant internal surfaces. The method involves performing a casting process, which includes pouring a first material into a mold box, to produce a valve body casting made of the first material. During the casting process, a layer of a second material is formed on one or more internal surfaces of the valve body casting, the second material having a higher corrosion resistance than the first material, by: (1) applying, with an additive manufacturing technique, the second material to one or more external surfaces of a core, and (2) inserting the core into the mold box. A portion of the first material binds to the second material on the one or more external surfaces of the core while the first material is poured into the mold box.
