Abstract: A display according to an embodiment of the disclosure includes a light-emitting device and a display panel unit. The light-emitting device includes a light guide plate, a light source, a reflecting plate, and a dot pattern. The light guide plate has a light-outputting surface including a plurality of band-shaped projections extending in a direction orthogonal to the light-entering end surface. The light source is disposed along the light-entering end surface. The reflecting plate is disposed to face the rear surface of the light guide plate. The dot pattern fixes the light guide plate and the reflecting plate to each other and serves as a light scatterer. The display panel unit includes a display panel, an optical sheet, and a fixing layer. The fixing layer adheres or sticks the display panel and the optical sheet to each other and serves as a light diffuser.

The memory may include a plurality of relative state of charge (RSOC) values of a battery. The plurality of RSOC values may be used to calculate a plurality of internal resistance values. The fuel gauge may be configured to either increase, decrease, or maintain a sampling frequency based upon a measured power being drawn by a load coupled to the battery.

Abstract: A method of at-home monitoring of eye conditions using a head mounted display that is capable of establishing a visual model associated with a patient. The visual model may include data related to a quality of the patient's vision. The patient may use the system to establish a visual model periodically, such as daily, and the system may compare the visual model to previous visual models and send an alert to the patient's physician if changes meeting a given criteria are detected. This may allow the physician to immediately take steps to save the patient's eyesight where a delay in treatment may result in vision loss.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for providing stable and reliable power to components on the top of a cell tower. The system performs a device discovery process to determine with Power Supply Units are connected to which Remote Radio Heads on the tower. It also provides several ways of characterizing the power cables and input capacitance to the Remote Radio Heads to provide optimal power to the Remote Radio Heads, including situations in which the power demand for the Remote Radio Heads increases, while obviating the need to replace the power cables with those of greater current capacity. Further, the system provides for stable power even in the presence of sensor instabilities and data dropouts.

Abstract: A protective case for a mobile device having a multi-layered construction is disclosed herein. The multi-layered construction includes three layers that are co-molded to one another. The construction is lightweight and low-profile, and also provides a high level of impact protection. The first layer generally forms the external back face surface of the case, the third layer generally forms the perimeter bumper of the case, and the second layer forms the internal liner and includes an elevated pattern of walls upon which the back face of the mobile device rests. The first layer is comprised of material that has a hardness greater than the other two layers. The third layer is comprised of a material that has a hardness that is greater than the hardness of the second layer. Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for providing recommendations for splitting bills. The approaches disclosed include the ability to obtain information about a bill to be split (such as a photo of the bill), and then use several machine learning models to determine the ‘who,’ ‘what,’ and ‘where’ of the underlying transaction. In particular, machine learning models described herein are used to perform facial recognition of a ‘selfie’ taken when a transaction was made against social media accounts to determine participants of the transaction. The machine learning models may also identify expected pricing from data about a merchant associated with the transaction, and expected amounts for each participant based on the expected pricing.

Abstract: Illustrative methods and circuits to verify operation of phase shifters. One illustrative method includes: obtaining a first set of in-phase and quadrature components (I1,Q1) of a phase shifter output signal with a first setting; measuring a second set of components (I2,Q2) with a second setting, the second setting being offset from the first by a predetermined phase difference; and combining the first and second sets to determine whether their relationship corresponds to the predetermined phase difference. An illustrative transmitter includes: a phase shifter, an I/Q mixer, and a processing circuit. The phase shifter converts a transmit signal into an output signal having a programmable phase shift. The I/Q mixer mixes the output signal with a reference signal to obtain in-phase and quadrature components of the output signal.
