Patent number: 11204100Abstract: A fluidic device comprises a channel, a gate, and one or more additional elements. The channel is configured to transport a fluid from a source to a drain. The gate includes a chamber with an adjustable volume that affects fluid flow within the channel by displacing a wall of the channel toward an opposite wall of the channel based in part on fluid pressure within the chamber exceeding a threshold pressure. A high pressure state of the gate corresponds to a first chamber size and a first flow rate of the fluid. A low pressure state of the gate corresponds to a second chamber size that is smaller than the first chamber size and a second flow rate that is greater than the first flow rate. The additional elements are configured to reduce the threshold pressure past which the chamber decreases the cross-sectional area of the channel.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 2019Date of Patent: December 21, 2021Assignee: Facebook Technologies, LLCInventors: Sean Jason Keller, David R. Patent number: 11204968Abstract: In an example embodiment, a platform is provided that utilizes information available to a computer system to feed a neural network. The neural network is trained to determine both the probability that a searcher would select a given potential search result if it was presented to him or her and the probability that a subject of the potential search result would respond to a communication from the searcher. These probabilities are essentially combined to produce a single score that can be used to determine whether to present the searcher with the potential search result and, if so, how high to rank the potential search result among other search results. In a further example embodiment, embeddings used for the input features are modified during training to maximize an objective.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2019Date of Patent: December 21, 2021Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Dan Liu, Daniel Sairom Krishnan Hewlett, Qi Guo, Wei Lu, Xuhong Zhang, Wensheng Sun, Mingzhou Zhou, Anthony Hsu, Keqiu Hu, Yi Wu, Chenya Zhang, Baolei Li

Patent number: 11204922Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and computer program product for optimal query scheduling for resource utilization option. In an embodiment of the invention, a process for optimal query scheduling includes receiving in an information retrieval data processing system at a contemporaneous time, a request for deferred query execution of a specified query to a future time after the contemporaneous time. The method additionally includes determining a frequency of change of data corresponding to a field referenced in the specified query. Then, on condition that the frequency of change is below a threshold value, an intermediate time prior to the future time but after the contemporaneous time can be identified and the specified query scheduled for execution at the intermediate time instead of the future time. But, otherwise the specified query can be scheduled at the future time as originally requested.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 2020Date of Patent: December 21, 2021Assignee: Google LLCInventors: Julius Cisek, Gaurav Kumar, Shaunak Mistry, Kalen Petersen

Patent number: 11204539Abstract: Methods and systems for color error correction for a segmented LED array are disclosed. A method includes calculating a target luminance for LED segments in a segmented LED array based on an initial luminance pattern, determining a luminance ratio based on the target luminance, the luminance ratio defined as a ratio of a primary luminance value of the primary LED segment to a secondary luminance value of the at least one adjacent LED segment, and comparing the luminance ratio to a predefined threshold ratio. If the luminance ratio is greater than or equal to the predefined ratio, then the secondary luminance value of the at least one adjacent LED segment is maintained. Patent number: 11204752Abstract: A firmware settings data structure and a settings mapping table for a first firmware are stored in a non-volatile memory. A second firmware settings data structure and a second settings mapping table for a second firmware are also stored. An entry is selected in the second firmware settings mapping table. A search is made of the first settings mapping table for an entry having an identifier that is the same as an identifier in the selected entry in the second firmware settings mapping table. If a matching entry is located, a value in the first firmware settings data structure identified by the entry in the first firmware settings mapping table is copied to the second firmware settings data structure.
