  • Patent number: 11205238
Abstract: A private digitized, decentralized, and distributed controlled-environment facility ledger is created using a genesis hash and wallet code assigned to a controlled-environment facility resident upon intake of the resident into the facility. In response to an occurrence of a first controlled-environment facility transaction with respect to the resident, a first new hash containing a cryptographic hash of the genesis hash is built, and the ledger is updated to reflect the first transaction, and to associate the first new hash with the first transaction, both with respect to the resident. Thereafter, subsequent new hashes, each containing a cryptographic hash from each prior hash, are each built in response to each subsequent controlled-environment facility transaction with respect to the resident, and the ledger is updated to reflect each subsequent transaction, and associate each subsequent new hash with the respective subsequent transaction, both with respect to the resident.

  • Patent number: 11205064
Abstract: Methods are provided to determine a quality score for depth map. The quality score is calculated from metrics that detect artifacts or other inaccuracies in the depth map such as flat patches, artifactual edges, and patchy regions. A flatness metric detects regions of neighboring pixels that have substantially the same depth value. A jaggedness metric detects hard edges or other discontinuities. A patchiness metric detects regions that are wholly enclosed by an edge and that have sub-threshold areas. The individual metrics are normalized and combined to determine an overall quality score for the depth map. The quality score can then be compared to one or more thresholds to determine a quality label for the depth map. Such a quality label can then be used to unlock a device, to invalidate an unlock attempt, to recalibrate a depth sensor, or to perform some other operations.

  • Patent number: 11204153
Abstract: A light-emitting device assembly includes a concave optical collector with a cavity, an emitter array of light-emitting elements, a transparent substrate across an open end of the collector, a structured lens, and an angular filter. The emitter array is positioned within the package cavity and emits from its emission surface output light that exits the cavity from the open its end through the substrate, and enables selective activation of and emission from individual elements of the array. The structured lens is formed on or in the substrate, and comprises micro- or nano-structured elements resulting in an effective focal length less than an effective distance between the structured lens and the emission surface. • Patent number: 11203518
Abstract: A containment sump has a primary container and a secondary container which extends only partway up the outer wall of the primary container. This “low-rise” secondary container, in certain embodiments, cooperates with the primary container to create a hermetically sealed interstitial space encompassing the bottom of the primary container, including the lower portion of the upright containment wall and the container bottom. In alternative embodiments, the secondary container is a subassembly forming an interstitial space and joined as a subassembly to the primary container. More particularly, the upper end of the interstitial space may be below pipe or other conduit penetrations through the sidewall of the primary container. At the same time, any leak which may develop over the service life of the containment sump would be contained and detected within the bottom of the primary and/or secondary containers.

  • Patent number: 11206079
Abstract: Radio communications systems use 100 to 200 satellites in random low-earth orbits distributed over a predetermined range of north and south latitudes. The satellites themselves create a radio route between ground stations via radio links between multiple satellites by virtue of onboard global navigation satellite system circuitry for determining the location of the satellite and route creation circuitry for calculating in real time the direction from the satellite's location at a particular instant to a destination ground station. Directional antennas in the satellites transmit routing radio signals to enhance the probability of reception by other satellites. One embodiment facilitates the creation of satellite-to-satellite links by assigning each satellite a unique identifier, storing orbital information defining the locations of all of the orbiting satellites in the system at any particular time, and including in the radio signal the unique identifier associated with the transmitting satellite.
