Abstract: A technique for performing deduplication traverses a deduplication database and assigns digest values in the database to buckets, where each bucket covers a respective range of digest values. To deduplicate a particular candidate block, the technique generates a digest from the candidate block and searches for the computed digest in a subset of the buckets, where the subset is selected based on the computed digest. If a target block providing an exact match or a suitably close partial match is found in the subset of buckets, the technique effects storage of the candidate block at least in part by providing a reference to the target block.

Abstract: A system according to the present disclosure assists utility companies with understanding the potential impact of wet snow and ice accumulations that have the potential to bring down utility infrastructure, such as power lines. The system described herein uses a probabilistic forecast methodology, using weather forecasts as inputs, to develop probable ice and wet-snow accretion predictions and uses those predictions to develop a number of possible events and, in certain embodiments, the events' locations and time of occurrence. The system can provide a probabilistic map of potential impacts to utility lines, thereby giving utility companies the ability to proactively deploy crews before storms arrive.

Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring an attachment, such as a breaker head, for a mining machine. The system includes a breaker head, a wireless identification tag, a sensor, and an electronic processor. The wireless identification tag is coupled to the breaker head and includes a tag memory storing an identifier of the breaker head and an antenna. The sensor is configured to generate measurement data associated with the breaker head. The electronic processor is configured to receive measurement data from the sensor, generate a notification based on the measurement data, and transmit the notification to the wireless identification tag. Additionally, the wireless identification tag is configured to store the notification. The notification can then be later retrieved from the wireless identification tag by various devices, such as a further mining machine or a reader device of maintenance personnel.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method that includes positioning a stack that includes at least one of the following layers between a first surface and a second surface: a first perovskite layer and/or a second perovskite layer; and treating the stack for a period of time by at least one of heating the stack or pressurizing the stack, where a device that includes the first surface and the second surface provides the heating and the pressurizing of the stack.

Abstract: A leadless package with wettable flanks is formed by providing a substrate and plating a metal layer onto the substrate to form a contact on the substrate extending across a saw street. An encapsulant is deposited over the contact. The substrate is removed to expose the contact and encapsulant. The encapsulant and contact are singulated. In some embodiments, the substrate includes a ridge, and the contact is formed over the ridge.

Abstract: A closed-loop system for the utilization of recycled woven and/or non-woven polyester fabric products in a plurality of high occupancy facilities includes at least one manufacturing facility to produce a plurality of recycled polyester fabric products from a recycled polyester fabric feedstock. A distribution network transports the plurality of recycled polyester fabric products to each of the plurality of high occupancy facilities, and a housekeeping network distributes and arranges recycled polyester fabric products in a plurality of rooms in a corresponding high occupancy facility. A collection network transports a plurality of compacted polyester fabric products from each of the plurality of high occupancy facilities back to the manufacturing facility. A corresponding closed-loop method for implementing the aforementioned closed-loop system is also disclosed.

Abstract: A mobility access hybrid vehicle that includes a floor assembly that defines a mobility access system mounting area and a battery well, the battery well being located at a position forward of the mobility access system mounting area. A mobility access system is mounted within the mobility access system mounting area defined by the floor assembly. A hybrid battery is mounted within the battery well defined by the floor assembly. A first cover plate mounted over the battery well and a second cover plate mounted over the mobility access system together define a substantially flat interior floor area for first and second rows of occupant seating areas of the mobility access hybrid vehicle.

Abstract: A computer system includes a first baseboard management controller (BMC) and a first host of the first BMC. The first host operates a first storage service at the first host. The first host is a first storage device connected to one or more storage drives. The first storage service managing a first Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) controller for accessing user data stored on the one or more storage drives through a storage network. The first BMC receives state information of the one or more storage drives. The first BMC sends notifications to a client of the first BMC, in response to receiving the state information.

Abstract: An analysis and visualization depicts how an application is leveraging computer processor cores in time. The analysis and visualization enables a developer to readily identify the degree of concurrency exploited by an application at runtime. Information regarding processes or threads running on the processor cores over time is received, analyzed, and presented to indicate portions of processor cores that are used by the application, idle, or used by other processes in the system. The analysis and visualization can help a developer understand contention for processor resources, confirm the degree of concurrency, or identify serial regions of execution that might provide opportunities for exploiting parallelism.

Abstract: Embodiments of golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads are generally described herein. In one example, a method of manufacturing a golf club head includes forming a body portion with an interior cavity, forming a face portion, attaching the face portion to the body portion to close the interior cavity, injecting a polymer material into the interior cavity from a port on the body portion, and inserting a first mass portion into the port to close the port. The method further includes attaching a second mass portion to the body portion below a horizontal midplane of the body portion. A total mass of the second mass portion may be greater than or equal to five times a total mass of the first mass portion. Other examples and embodiments may be described and claimed.

Abstract: A method and a fugitive mold for producing a cast-metal part are provided. In some embodiments, the fugitive mold may be formed by three-dimensionally (3D) printing a preceramic resin in the shape of a fugitive mold; curing the preceramic resin to form a preceramic polymer, and pyrolyzing the fugitive mold to convert the preceramic polymer to a metastable ceramic material. The metastable ceramic material may include an amorphous silicon oxycarbide ceramic. A cast-metal part may be formed by filling the fugitive mold with a liquid metal or alloy, and allowing the liquid metal or alloy to solidify over a first length of time. The cast-metal part may then be retrieved by heating the fugitive mold at a temperature lower than the melting point of the cast-metal part for a second length of time longer than the first length of time to disintegrate the metastable ceramic material.

Abstract: A base station may generate and transmit a transport stream including a sequence of frames. A frame may include a plurality of partitions, where each partition includes a corresponding set of OFDM symbols. For each partition, the OFDM symbols in that partition may have a corresponding cyclic prefix size and a corresponding FFT size, allowing different partitions to be targeted for different collections of user devices, e.g., user devices having different expected values of maximum delay spread and/or different ranges of mobility. The base station may also dynamically re-configure the sample rate of each frame, allowing further resolution in control of subcarrier spacing. By allowing the cyclic prefixes of different OFDM symbols to have different lengths, it is feasible to construct a frame that confirms to a set payload duration and has arbitrary values of cyclic prefix size per partition and FFT size per partition. The partitions may be multiplexed in time and/or frequency.

Abstract: A staple gun and a method of using the same. A stapling mechanism in the housing is activated to deliver a staple through an aperture in a housing wall and drive the staple into a surface around a stack of one or more electric cables. The gun includes a reciprocating cable guide for centering the gun on the stack of cables and closing a safety switch to permit the gun's trigger to be activated. A spacer extending outwardly from the housing wall rests on the upper surface of the cable stack. The spacer and a bumper that engages a hammer of the stapling mechanism provide for automatic depth adjustment when driving the staple into the surface. A reciprocating cable guard extending outwardly from the housing wall is positioned between the stack of cables and the staple to aid in preventing the staple from piercing the cable.

Abstract: Certain embodiments of the present application relate to a variable frequency drive (VFD) cabin for a pump configuration including a mobile trailer on which the VFD cabin is to be mounted. The VFD cabin generally includes a medium-voltage VFD and a ventilation system. In certain embodiments, the ventilation system is configured to generate an overpressure condition within the cabin to discourage the entry of dust and debris into the cabin. In certain embodiments, one or more components of the medium-voltage VFD are coupled to the floor of the cabin via a vibration damping system. In certain embodiments, the VFD cabin may be directly coupled to a chassis of the mobile trailer without an intervening suspension being provided between the VFD cabin and the chassis.

Abstract: A method and system for sharing data reduction metadata with storage systems. Specifically, the disclosed method and system entail communicating, to a storage system, information known to host devices from which data (submitted to-be-written to the storage system) may originate. This a priori reduction-pertinent information, which may include the potential to improve storage system efficiency and/or performance at least with respect to data reduction processing of the data submitted to-be-written, had previously been considered incommunicable to the storage system. The disclosed method and system, however, lift this previous limitation and enable communication of any storage system performance-improving information, applicable to the data submitted to-be-written, to the storage system.

Abstract: A fluid injector system for delivering a multi-phase fluid injection to a patient and methods of fluid delivery is disclosed. Methods of creating and using a multi-aspect fluid path impedance model of the injector system are used. Modeling and adjustment of factors that affect impedance and prevent or reduce backflow, reduce the likelihood of fluid flow rate spikes and provide more accurate flow rates and mixing ratios of fluids may be repeated or happen essentially continuously during an injection. The adjustments may be determined before the injection or determined and/or adjusted during the injection. The determination may include sensor feedback commonly used in injectors such as pressure and position feedback as well as other sensors. In all cases, the user can be notified of adjustments through on-screen notices and/or through the recordation of the injection data by a control device of the injector at the conclusion of the injection.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for heating a cabin of a vehicle using an alternator of the vehicle. In one example, a method may include operating in a first operating mode to heat a cabin of a vehicle, the first operating mode including shorting an alternator output of an alternator of the vehicle to ground, and closing a coolant valve positioned between a coolant system of an engine of the vehicle and an alternator coolant circuit.

Abstract: Examples described herein relate to apparatuses and methods for managing caching for a content delivery system, which may include receiving a content request indicating that the caching agent is requesting content data for a client, filling the content data in a first cache storage of the business logic agent, providing the cached content data to the caching agent, and while a second cache storage of the caching agent is being filled with the content data, maintaining the cached content data in response to receiving additional content requests from the caching agent. The additional content requests may indicate that the caching agent is requesting the same content data for additional clients.
