  • Patent number: 11146076
Abstract: A battery system includes a battery module, an active cell balancing circuit, and a battery controller. Each cell has diametrically-opposed positive and negative cell tabs. The circuit includes voltage sensors and, at each end of the battery module, first and second tiers of switches and an energy storage element. Each voltage sensor is located between a different pair of adjacent cells. The controller receives measured voltages from the sensors indicative of an electric potential between adjacent battery cells. Responsive to the measured voltages, the controller commands the first tier to selectively connect or disconnect designated pairs of cells to the corresponding second tier. The controller also commands the second tier to selectively connect or disconnect the designated cells to a corresponding energy storage element. This action shuttles energy between the designated pairs of battery cells to balance a state of charge.

  • Patent number: 11146398
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described herein for improved communications between a service and end devices via a gateway. A token may be in a signed encrypted state when sent to untrusted devices and may be signed, but not encrypted, when used by trusted devices. Untrusted devices may receive the encrypted token and may use it to access services. An untrusted device may send the received encrypted token to the gateway, which may then send the token to its issuer so that the token issuer may decrypt the data payload. The token may then be sent back to the gateway, which may then read the decrypted data and verify whether the untrusted device is permitted to access the requested service. The gateway may then send, within the trusted domain, the request and token to the service provider so that the untrusted device can obtain access to the requested service.

  • Patent number: 11146529
Abstract: A computer-implemented method in a content delivery network (CDN), wherein the CDN delivers content on behalf of at least one content provider. The CDN includes a rendezvous system that selects CDN servers for clients. In response to a request by a rendezvous mechanism in the rendezvous system, a first given function is evaluated. Based on the outcome of the evaluating, the rendezvous mechanism uses either a first table or a second table. The first table was generated by a first table generation mechanism for use by said rendezvous mechanism to select CDN servers for clients, and the second table was generated by a second table generation mechanism for use by the rendezvous mechanism to select CDN servers for clients.

  • Patent number: 11141535
Abstract: A fluid injector system for delivering a multi-phase fluid injection to a patient and methods of fluid delivery is disclosed. Methods of creating and using a multi-aspect fluid path impedance model of the injector system are used. Modeling and adjustment of factors that affect impedance and prevent or reduce backflow, reduce the likelihood of fluid flow rate spikes and provide more accurate flow rates and mixing ratios of fluids may be repeated or happen essentially continuously during an injection. The adjustments may be determined before the injection or determined and/or adjusted during the injection. The determination may include sensor feedback commonly used in injectors such as pressure and position feedback as well as other sensors. In all cases, the user can be notified of adjustments through on-screen notices and/or through the recordation of the injection data by a control device of the injector at the conclusion of the injection.

  • Patent number: 11141849
Abstract: A staple gun and a method of using the same. A stapling mechanism in the housing is activated to deliver a staple through an aperture in a housing wall and drive the staple into a surface around a stack of one or more electric cables. The gun includes a reciprocating cable guide for centering the gun on the stack of cables and closing a safety switch to permit the gun's trigger to be activated. A spacer extending outwardly from the housing wall rests on the upper surface of the cable stack. The spacer and a bumper that engages a hammer of the stapling mechanism provide for automatic depth adjustment when driving the staple into the surface. A reciprocating cable guard extending outwardly from the housing wall is positioned between the stack of cables and the staple to aid in preventing the staple from piercing the cable.
