  • Patent number: 11092474
Abstract: A liquid level sensor includes a base member disposed above the liquid. A lever arm is pivotally attached to the base member. The lever arm is configured to interact with the liquid so that it has an angular displacement relative to the base member. The angular displacement is a function of the level of the liquid in the liquid channel. A sensor senses angular displacement of the lever arm. A communications circuit transmits the angular displacement of the lever arm to a remote location. In a method of detecting a liquid level, a float that is buoyant in the liquid is placed into the liquid and is coupled to a lever arm. An angular displacement of the lever arm relative to a base member is measured. The liquid level is a function of the angular displacement of the lever arm.

  • Patent number: 11092746
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for tuning photonic device performance. In one aspect, a method includes receiving an initial photonic device configuration including multiple coupling structures and multiple photonic components. A first amount of light coupling between a first photonic component and a second photonic component of the multiple photonic components is received, which depends upon a subset of the coupling structures that are located between the first photonic component and the second photonic component. One or more coupling structures of the subset of coupling structures located between the first photonic component and the second photonic component are determined to be removed to cause the light coupling between the first photonic component and the second photonic component to change from the first amount of coupling to a target amount of coupling.

  • Patent number: 11093922
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to a method and a hardware and software system for collecting data from retail point of sale. The hardware connects to a wide variety of barcode scanners and receipt printers. Collected data is transmitted to a cloud-based infrastructure backend system using a wireless internet connection built into the hardware. The collected data can be processed to extract item-level transaction information, and estimate the price and in-stock status of items in particular shops. A search engine can be provided using this data, which allows a customer to discover which nearby shop has an item of interest in stock. A targeted advertising system that complements this search service is also presented. The data can be used by retailers and manufacturers for business analysis and optimization.

  • Patent number: 11093122
Abstract: An improved graphical user interface (GUI) is disclosed herein. A computing device displays the GUI on a display. The GUI comprises a data element. The computing device receives a first indication that the data element has been selected within the GUI by a selection article. As the data element remains selected, the computing device receives a second indication that the selection article has been moved in a direction. As the data element remains selected, the computing device displays contextual data for the data element on the display. The contextual data displayed may be based upon the direction in which the selection article was moved. Responsive to receiving a third indication that the data element fails to remain selected by the selection article, the computing device removes the contextual data from the GUI.

  • Patent number: 11090524
Abstract: An article of apparel including an integrated fabric system, with or without strategically-placed weighting and/or elastic resistant materials, which optimizes conditioning, strengthening, endurance, enhancement, training, performance, functional longevity, benefits of daily activity, movement therapy, and/or other diverse medical and/or therapeutic uses, and, all while reducing the possibility of injury. The article enables the user to receive medical and/or therapeutic benefits and to increase production of kinetic energy, through weighted and/or elastic resistance, as required by the user's particularized needs. The user may benefit from the medical/therapeutic properties during periods of activity or inactivity. Benefits are achieved through the integration of fabrics and strategically-placed weighting and/or elastic resistance materials into the article based upon the kinetic energy created, necessitated, and/or dissipated by a specific movement(s) and/or medical or therapeutic requirements.

  • Patent number: 11091039
Abstract: Electrical bus isolation is detected for an electrified vehicle having a DC power source connected to positive and negative buses. The positive bus is connected to chassis ground, and a resulting first current is sensed that flows through a negative bus leakage resistance and a balanced leakage resistance. The negative bus is connected to chassis ground, and a resulting second current is sensed that flows through a negative bus leakage resistance and a balanced leakage resistance. The positive and negative bus leakage resistances are estimated in response to respective ratios of the first and second currents. A larger one of the estimated bus leakage resistances is selected as a balanced leakage resistance. Failure of a device connected to a bus (such as a wiring cable or a fuel cell) is predicted in response to predetermined decreases in the estimated balanced leakage resistance over time.

  • Patent number: 11091959
Abstract: A downhole oscillation tool includes a Moineau-type positive displacement pulse motor and a valve assembly for use in a drill string. The pulse motor includes a rotor configured to nutate within the bore of a stator. The rotor has at least two helical lobes that extend the length of the rotor, and the stator bore defines at least three helical lobes that extend the length of the stator. The valve assembly includes a first valve plate connected to the bottom end of the rotor and abuts the second valve plate to form a sliding seal. The second valve plate is fixedly coupled to the stator and remains stationary. First valve ports extend axially through the first valve plate, and second valve ports extend axially through the second valve plate. The first valve ports and second valve ports intermittently overlap as the first valve plate slides across the second valve plate to create pulses in the drilling fluid which is pumped through the tool to power the motor and valve assembly.

  • Patent number: 11094212
Abstract: The sharing of signal segments using a semantic understanding of what is included within the signal segment. Upon selection of a physical entity (or portion thereof) that is rendered within a signal segment, the system then extracts portion(s) of signal segment(s) in which that selected physical entity appears. A representation of the extracted signal segment portion are then dispatched to recipients. Thus, portions of signal segments may be shared at the granularity of the content of what the signal segment depicts. There is wide flexibility in what representations of those signal segment portion(s) are shared.
